Chapter 804

After that slap, Maja felt utterly worn out and drained.

lan’s face sported the marks of five fingers, but he didn’t seem to mind. Instead, he squeezed some shower gel

onto a bath sponge and gently washed her body.

Then he poured some liquid soap into his own palms and held her hands, starting to clean them with meticulous

care.

Her body was marked with different traces, the deep and shallow ones amalgamating like an oil painting on white

paper, breathtakingly beautiful,

lan’s eyes lingered on her for a few minutes before he lifted her and wiped her with a clean towel nearby.

When he carried her back to the bed, Maja woke up and cursed, “You beast!”

He didn’t respond, he just chuckled.

Insults didn’t bother him; after all, they couldn’t affect his physical wellbeing.

After he tucked her under the covers, Jeff called to say that the share transfer papers were ready.

Looking at the woman beside him, lan just gave a noncommittal grunt in response.

“Boss, are you really going to hand over the shares? If Dennis gets his hands on the Raymond family shares, plus

Holden’s, he might just.”

“That was uncle’s plan, or he wouldn’t have put Pearson in the Raymond Corporation.

“But if Dennis becomes the CEO of the Raymond Corporation.”

“Grandpa’s shares won’t go to him.”

After uttering those words, lan rubbed his eyebrows and said, “Even if they did, I don’t care. I’m sick of that

position.”

Since he took over, many had reminded him that it was supposed to be Eric’s, but since he died, the CEO title fell

into his hands.

He respected his brother, but they never really got along.

He’d always lived in his shadow, which led him to join the army.

If not for the responsibilities of being the heir, he’d probably still be in the army, risking his life, and not involved in

corporate power struggles.

He didn’t want to compete with Eric for anything because it just bored him.

He had his own pride.

Just as he was about to go to sleep, Tyler called.

“I heard you’re transferring 10% of the Raymond Corporation shares.”

Tyler sounded incredulous, but he knew if lan made this decision, he’d thought about the consequences.

“Yes.”

“For Maja?”

“Yes, I told you, I like her.”

“lan, do you like her or love her?”

lan paused for a few seconds before asking, “Is there a difference?”

As a famous screenwriter, Tyler found himself at a loss to explain this to someone who barely understood love.

“Well, for men in our industry, liking someone is common, like having a pet. When you replace a cute one, you want to

show it off. But love is different; it’s exclusive. If another man so much as looks at her, your darkest emotions get

triggered, heavy, chaotic, even vulnerable. That’s why few in our industry talk about “love“.“”

Tyler just hoped that if it was love lan was feeling, he could control his temper and not treat Maja like he did in the

army, or he’d regret it someday.

But if it’s just a shallow crush, then let him be.

As for the one-tenth of the shares, it’s his money; he can spend it however he wanted.

But to win a woman’s heart, that’s not nearly enough.

“I just like her”
