Dear Ex-wife Marry Me Novel Full Episode -
Chapter 850
Chapter 850
He didn’t even mention the bet, yet here she was, all because of something Maureen said. What’s up with that?
With a cynical laugh, Maja booked a flight ticket right away, planning to return home by afternoon. Her company
had a ton of stuff waiting to be taken care of. Why the hell was she meddling with the Raymond family’s business?
Back at the hotel, her head was pounding, and she felt tired just thinking about the upcoming flight.
Before boarding the plane, she skimmed through some North American news.
The latest scoop was that lan and the CEO of EcoTraverse Group had made a bet, signed and sealed at one of
North America’s swankiest hotels just about fifteen minutes ago. Some photos from the event had leaked, even.
In the photos, there was a blurry, cute figure not far from the top brass.
Maja didn’t linger. She shut down her phone and headed into the airport.
By the time she got back to Greenfield, she was so beaten she could barely keep her eyes open. She plopped onto
her bed and slept for a whole day before she felt recharged.
Zoey called to say she was feeling better and was back on the job……
Maja sent her the reviewed documents with the instruction, “Tell Meetman to start rolling on the next one, Wilma
should be able to make time, and she’s still our leading lady. Also, send me Wilma’s current address. I want to
check on her myself.”
Soon enough, Wilma’s address was sent over.
Maja was hands–on when it came to the company’s talents. Star Movie Group was going strong, and every talent
could be a potential cash cow, none to be taken lightly.
The previous investment in Tyler had already rolled in. Two hundred million dollars was enough to produce a few
more TV series.
Star Movie Group had hired a bunch of new staff, not just talents but other personnel too. It had Maja running in
circles.
When she arrived at where Wilma was staying, it was already evening, and she ran into Wilma just as she was
coming home.
Maja always thought of this girl as energetic, but when there was no one around her, Wilma looked pretty lonely.
“Mr. Pennyfeather?”
Wilma was clearly taken aback by her unexpected visit, her face lighting up in surprise. She quickly unlocked the
door.
“Come in. Let me get you a glass of water.”
Maja took a look around the room, and it was spotless.
Wilma went to the kitchen to get water and came back with a glass, offering it to her with respect.
The recent public scandal had her looking up to Maja in admiration. From here on, she’d follow whatever
instructions Maja had.
Maja noticed Wilma becoming a bit stiff. “Sit down.“.
Wilma sat down, hands neatly placed in front of her. “What’s up?”
“You’re the leading lady for the next series, directed by Meetman himself. You’ve seen the impact of The Storm.
The next series is on par with it, and you’ll likely hit it big.
Wilma’s breath hitched. If the series did well, she’d be rolling in dough.
With money, she could move and become neighbours with Elvis.
She clenched her fist, making a promise to Maja. “Mr. Pennyfeather, I’ll give it my all for this series!”
Maja was idly tracing the rim of the glass, her eyes landing on a picture frame in the room.
The frame was placed in the most conspicuous spot, and it must’ve been there for many years. The young man in
the photo was Elvis.
It must be a photo of Wilma and Elvis from high school, something she kept all these years.
Wilma, if the series does well, your personal life will be under more public scrutiny. You’ve worked at Simstar
Entertainment, so you should know talents aren’t allowed to date. I know you’re hung up on Elvis. If you continue to
be the lead, that’s a risk for me. You get what I’m saying?”
Wilma fell silent, her mouth opened, but no words came out.
After a while, she smiled. “Mr. Pennyfeather, I really like you. When my parents were around, I told them I liked
Elvis, and they thought it was a joke. But even then, I already had many dreams about Elvis. In those dreams, he did
a lot of things, but I felt happy and excited. Whenever I woke up and saw the clock on the wall, I wished time would
go faster. So that when I turned legal, I could be with him.
Everyone had their moments of excitement when they were young. Many people started writing love letters in
junior high. Kids these days mature quickly.
But traditional parents treated puppy love like a plague, and they forbade their kids from dating while they were still
students. However, once they graduated from college, they expected them to marry straight away.
It’s a contradiction.
In their adolescence, who hadn’t had a few dreams about the opposite sex? Wilma was just brave enough to admit
it.
“Everyone thought of my crush on him as a childish joke. Only you took it seriously and came to talk to me about it.
Even though it’s for work, I know you respect my feelings for Elvis. That’s why I really like you‘
