Chapter 33 We Still Have Scores to Settle

“I knew it! Like mother, like daughter!” Karen staggered to her feet and hurled insults at Francesca.

Chandler’s face darkened when he saw Karen’s reaction and stepped forward to stop her.

Miranda quickly intervened. There’s no need to show any respect to Francesca. Mom should curse that b*tch as she likes!

“Sasha is the epitome of hypocrisy! She seemed to be kind to me, but behind closed doors, she treated me as her personal servant! Those designer bags and clothes she gave me are nothing more than a cruel reminder of my inability to afford them. She ended up dead, didn’t she? Why am I the one burdened with the responsibility of caring for her daughter?”

Karen’s resentful gaze pierced Francesca. “If it weren’t for your accidental rescue of Colton’s grandfather, do you think you would have married Colton? I had hoped to marry you off to a drug addict who would mistreat you, just so you could endure a life of suffering and torment!”

Slap!

“I generally don’t hit women, unless they’re beasts.” Yoel stared coldly at Karen, wishing he could slap her to death.

Although Yoel had a playboy reputation in the past, he had always carried. himself as a respectable young man who valued and respected women. Never did he imagine that there would come a day when he would harbor such intense disdain for a woman that he would resort to physically striking her.

Since Francesca didn’t have a good impression of this family, Yoel

naturally didn’t need to worry about saving face.

After he delivered the slap, it was Miranda who got extremely emotional, instead of Karen.

She screamed in shock, “Yoel! How could you hit my mom?”

How could he side with that b*tch, Francesca?

Karen covered her face, her eyes brimming with resentment. “You and your mother are cut from the same cloth. She, too, used men as stepping stones to ascend. That’s precisely why you’re a child whose father remains. a mystery!”

Even though Yoel was the one who hit someone, Karen only directed her anger toward Francesca.

Chandler came to the realization that the situation was spiraling out of hand. With a resolve in his eyes, he opted to directly confront Francesca, pointing at her and erupting in a fit of furious curses. “You ungrateful wretch! Despite everything we’ve done for you, you remain oblivious to gratitude. Scram!”

As the family’s revealed their true colors, Francesca pulled Yoel to sit down on the sofa. “I’m afraid I can’t leave now.”

Hearing that, Chandler thought she was willing to compromise and said stiffly, “You’re right. After all, we are family. You’ll still need your family even after you get married.”

Francesca merely laughed.

She looked straight into Chandler’s eyes, the mockery in her gaze evident. “Don’t worry, I have plenty of family members who are related to me by blood.”

Chandler’s face darkened. No wonder Francesca sounds confident. It turns out she has reunited with her real family.

“Very well, then! Now that you’ve risen through the ranks, there’s no

reason for you to ever return to the Beckman family in the future!” Chandler’s voice thundered with newfound confidence as if a realization had struck him.

Francesca nodded with a smile. “Sure, but I still need to settle scores with you.”

“What scores?” Chandler looked at Francesca cautiously. “I don’t remember having any. with you.”

Francesca placed several documents neatly on the table and gestured for Chandler to take a look.

Chandler’s face turned serious as he picked up one document and opened it. Instantly, his eyes widened in anger, and his first instinct was to tear the document in his hands to shreds.

Francesca had foreseen that he would attempt such an action, so she remained entirely unfazed. Her voice turned icy as she remarked, “Did you honestly believe I would place it right in front of you without anticipating your attempt to tear it apart?”

Chandler’s hands froze on the spot.

Karen and Miranda, who were standing nearby, sensed that something was wrong. Hastily, they stepped forward, picked up a copy, and examined it closely. At once, their expressions underwent a dramatic transformation.

To their astonishment, the documents they held were none other than the debt agreements Francesca had obtained from Colton and the inheritance notarization certificate issued by Sasha’s law firm. The cumulative worth of these items tallied up to a staggering two hundred and eighty million.

Karen screamed and raised her hand, intending to slap Francesca’s cheek.

Instead. Francesca gripped her wrist.

Francesca’s eyes were filled with anger as she spoke. “Do you think I’m still that weak little girl who you could hit and scold at will?”

With a slight force, she pushed Karen away, causing the latter to stumble.

Karen was momentarily stunned. She then furiously lunged forward. “How dare you? How dare you ask us for money?”

Her countenance had transformed into a hideous visage, devoid of any remnants of the noble lady’s demeanor she once held with pride.

“Touch me if you dare, and I’ll add an additional one–thousandth of interest.” Francesca declared coldly without moving.

Karen felt like a deflated balloon and halted in her tracks.

Her chest heaved violently. If looks could kill, she would have already torn Francesca to shreds.

Miranda couldn’t believe it. Just this morning, she was still a wealthy

young lady from a prestigious family, and now, she had suddenly become a penniless person with billions in debt.

This can’t be possible!

Chandler clearly couldn’t accept this situation. With a stern face, he said, “No way, I won’t pay the money back.”

Anticipating his reaction, Francesca retrieved a business card from her possession and handed it over to him. The card displayed the contact information of the individual overseeing the legal department at Fashn Group.

“What is this?” Chandler looked at her cautiously, afraid that she might pull out another agreement.

“In that case, if you’re unwilling to fulfill your repayment obligations, I’ll see you in court,” Francesca calmly stated, clearly anticipating Chandler’s refusal to settle the debt. “It’s evident that you don’t possess the necessary funds. I’ve already conducted the calculations, and the current valuation of Beckman Group precisely amounts to two hundred and fifty million. When the time comes, we will enforce it accordingly.”

Chandler’s eyes were burning red with anger as if he wanted to devour Francesca. He said fiercely, “Don’t even think about it!”

Taking away Beckman Group was tantamount to cutting off his source of income, forcing him to revisit his past of working for others.

Sensing Chandler’s fury, Yoel discreetly positioned himself in front of Francesca, adopting a protective stance to guard against any possibility of Chandler losing control and launching an attack on her.

A hint of emotion flickered in Francesca’s eyes when she saw him move.

It seemed that regardless of the circumstances, Yoel would consistently position himself in front of her just when she needed him most, always ready to offer his assistance and support.

Maybe

“What on earth do you want from us?” After being angry for too long, Chandler realized that he had no other choice but to beg for mercy.

He resembled a stray dog, without any alternatives but to accept the circumstances, as there seemed to be no other viable option available.

Sensing Chandler’s compromise, Francesca took out her phone and placed it in front of them. “How about we play a game? For every truth

revealed, I’ll deduct one million from your debt. What do you think?”

“Ten million.” Chandler, with his keen perception, noticed Francesca’s intention and attempted to raise the price.

Francesca glanced at him calmly and said, “I remember you once taught me never to push my luck or risk losing everything.”

Chandler was stumped.

He gritted his teeth. “Fine, but you have to allow us to pay off the remaining debt in installments over thirty years.”

“Ten years.” Francesca said firmly. “If there are any significant operational issues with Beckman Group during this period, the company must be transferred to me in advance.”

Chandler didn’t expect Francesca to be so unyielding, and he remained silent with a gloomy expression on his face.

Francesca didn’t seem to be in a hurry. She took out a document and said, “Take a look.”

On the document were the conditions Francesca mentioned earlier. She was confident that he would agree.
