Chapter 6 Truly Gone

Without waiting for Colton’s response, he abruptly ended the call after finishing his statement.

Colton rubbed his brows tiredly. He had never anticipated that Francesca would have such intentions when she signed the divorce agreement.

Is she trying to use my grandpa to pressure me?

Colton sneered. Impossible.

He turned back to look at Elsa, who was still standing in the same spot, promptly losing interest in continuing the conversation. “You should head home. I’m leaving.”

“Colt?”

Startled, Elsa watched as Colton left without any

hesitation.

Upon arriving at the mansion, Colton got out of the car and asked the housekeeper in a cold voice, “Where is Mrs. Zeller?

The housekeeper was startled by his overwhelming aura of hostility. She looked at Colton with trepidation, unable to speak for a long time.

Colton couldn’t be bothered to waste time talking to her, so he swiftly ascended the stairs. Upon opening the door, he was unsurprised to replace the room empty.

She certainly knows how to put on a full show.

Colton stood at the bedroom door, his eyes slightly cold as he dialed Timothy’s number. “Find out Mrs. Zeller’s whereabouts.”

As he talked on the phone, his gaze swept across the room.

The room, once in complete disarray, had been tidied up. The neatly made bed made it seem as if nothing happened the night before. However, Francesca was nowhere to be found.

The emptiness made Colton unconsciously furrow his brows. In the past, no matter how late he came home, Francesca would always be waiting for him in the bedroom. Even if he was annoyed, she would still approach him with a gentle smile and take his clothes…

He ended the call impatiently.

Colton irritably loosened his tie, his gaze fixed on the bedside table.

There was a bank card placed on top of it–the very one he had given to Francesca last night. He furrowed his brows as he stepped forward to pick up the card, noticing the dark red bloodstains on its edges.

Is she hurt?

He furrowed his brow and quickly stepped into the walk–in closet.

Standing in front of the quiet walk–in closet, Colton glanced at Francesca’s shelves, which were still packed to the brim.

Just as he was about to cross the row of shelves, his footsteps suddenly came to a halt.

Francesca’s shelves did indeed appear to be packed full, but upon closer inspection, one could notice quite a few empty spaces in the middle. Feeling uncertain, Colton called the housekeeper over. “Can you take a look and see if there’s anything off about these shelves?

The housekeeper hurriedly examined everything carefully before saying, “Mrs. Zeller’s own clothes have disappeared.”

Colton’s face suddenly darkened. He belatedly remembered that when Francesca married him, she only brought two suitcases of belongings. Most of the clothes in the closet were given to her by him later on.

She didn’t take a single thing he gave her.

Anxiety spread through his heart, and suddenly, Jeremy’s words from earlier tonight at Midnight Bar echoed in his mind. He swiftly dialed Jeremy’s number. “Did you say your friend saw Francesca at the airport today?”

Jeremy paused before replying, “I had someone look into it, and it seems. that the daughter of the Beckman family has gone abroad.”

She went abroad.

Colton’s eyes glinted slightly, and he grunted in the affirmative before ending the call.

After standing in the quiet bedroom for a long time, Colton suddenly threw his phone against the wall with great force, causing it to shatter into pieces instantly.

Without even glancing at his phone, he stepped over the broken pieces and walked out of the door.

The housekeeper downstairs was startled by the loud noise. She looked at Colton hesitantly, wanting to say something but ended up changing her mind. Colton just gave her a cold glance and said, “Starting tomorrow, you. don’t need to come here anymore.”

She doesn’t even know that Francesca is missing. There’s no need for her to stay.

Stepping out of the mansion, Colton sat in the pitch–black car and lit a cigarette.

The crimson flames stood out strikingly in the dark night as a cold smirk formed at the corner of his lips.

Does Francesca really think she can come and go from the Zeller family as she pleases?

Retrieving a spare phone from the car, he dialed a number. “Find Francesca’s whereabouts and bring her back.”

Ever since the accident involving his parents, Colton had been forced to grow up quickly. It had been a long time since he last experienced the feeling of being consumed by anger.

In that moment, he remained oblivious to one important fact – despite his desire for Francesca to quickly divorce him and make room for Elsa, when Francesca actually went missing, his immediate reaction was to replace and bring her back.

For the first time, the young master of the Zeller family, who had always been a strategist in the business world, encountered a tough opponent.

There was no news.
