Chapter 78 Confrontation
Cynthia furrowed her brows. “I-”
Yoel interrupted her, saying helplessly, “No need. This is a matter concerning the Zabielski family. I will investigate it thoroughly.”
He gazed deeply into Cynthia’s eyes and said, “We-”
“I’m sorry,” Cynthia sincerely said to Yoel.
She had once considered giving it a shot with him, but the current situation had evolved beyond a point where simply trying could keep them going.
With a bitter smile, Yoel said, “I understand.”
“Are you done talking?” From not far off, Colton strode over, his face stern as he firmly grasped Cynthia’s wrist. “I have something to discuss with you.”
“What are you doing?” Yoel demanded, abruptly seizing Colton’s hand. “She’s not going anywhere with you.”
The atmosphere between the two instantly became tense.
Colton’s expression was icy cold, his gaze casually swept over Yoel. “As far as I know, your son’s birth mother has gone to the Zabielski residence to take your son away. I’m afraid you might not have the time to meddle in other people’s affairs here…”
Yoel glared at him, ready to retort, when his phone suddenly rang.
Anna’s voice came through from the other end of the phone. “Lynda has come to fight for custody. She insists on seeing you…”
Yoel was completely frozen in place.
He looked at Cynthia, and Cynthia figured out what was going on. “If you have something to attend to, you should go ahead. Don’t worry about me. Mr. Zeller won’t harm me,” she said.
“If you dare harm her, I won’t let you off easily!” With this threat, which even he found to be feeble, Yoel hastily left.
A hint of sarcasm flashed in Colton’s eyes as he watched Yoel walk away. “It seems your fiancé isn’t as reliable as you thought. At least when it mattered most, he didn’t choose you.”
Cynthia was noncommittal. Her–gaze subtly shifted toward Colton. “Mr. Zeller, you’ve gone to great lengths to have this private conversation with me. What is it that you really want to

discuss?”
At this point, Colton’s expression instantly turned grim. His deep–set eyes stared unblinkingly into Cynthia’s eyes. “Whose children are they, really?”
Ajolt of surprise shot through Cynthia’s heart, but her face remained as calm as ever. “With your well–informed sources, Mr. Zeller, shouldn’t you have known the answer already?” she asked.
Colton took two steps forward, gently lifting Cynthia’s chin with his hand, forcing her to meet his gaze. “I want you to tell me the answer yourself right now,” he demanded.
Cynthia’s hands, resting by her side, clenched tightly into fists, her nails digging deep into her palms.
“They are Yoel’s children.”
Had it been before, Colton might have exploded in anger upon hearing those words. However, the man he was at that moment merely cast a deep glance at Cynthia, a suddenum smirk playing on his lips. “Is that so? I don’t believe you.”
He pulled out the medical records of both children, his fingertips lightly tapping on the documents. “Rh–negative blood, peanut allergies… These aren’t traits that run in the Zabielski family.”
Cynthia hadn’t expected him to obtain Lukas and Luna’s medical records so quickly. Her fists clenched even tighter when she said. “It’s merely a coincidence. Are you, Mr. Zeller, going to claim every person who meets this condition as your child? If so, you’d have offspring everywhere.”
Seeing her still stubbornly refusing to admit, Colton simply said, “Since you’re unwilling to confess, let’s go for a DNA paternity test.”
After three years of companionship, Colton believed he knew Cynthia well. She was not the type to recklessly be with someone else out of heartbreak, let alone have two children with them.
Cynthia refused outright, saying, “I will not go for a DNA paternity test.”
Colton’s expression turned cold. “I’m afraid that’s not up to you.”
He reached out to grasp Cynthia’s wrist, but before he could utter a word, a small figure, like a cannonball, suddenly burst forth, slamming into him fiercely. “Baddie! You’re not allowed to bully my mommy!”
Luna was so infuriated that her face turned red. She glared at Colton with her round, bulging eyes, her gaze unwavering.

Luna was still quite small, so bumping into people didn’t really hurt. However, Colton’s gaze instantly softened when he saw such a soft, tiny figure.
“Are you Luna?” Colton carefully studied the petite figure before him. It’s true. I see a hint of my own features in the space between her brows and eyes.
