Desert Heat Chapter 88

{Hank’s P.O.V.}

I have been sitting in the cellar for three days now. I have no idea where Casey and my pups are. I have tried to mind link her, but she is blocking me out. I’m pretty sure Casey wants nothing to do with me. My actions got her, and our pups banished. My entire family is considered to be rogues and I have been sentenced to death.

I can’t believe the Luna would stoop that low. My wife and pups were innocent, and they didn’t deserve that punishment. Casey was right, the Luna was a b***h. She played Casey into thinking she wanted to be friends but left Casey hanging out to dry just because Casey was too busy raising our pups to do anything. What did the Luna expect from a full-time mother? She had no empathy for my wife, and so she opted for Hardwick’s wife, Sam. b***h being friends with another b***h, how typical.

I had to figure out a way to get out of here. I needed to replace Casey and our pups. My thoughts were interrupted by the guards coming into my cell,

“Can you believe it?”

“That’s crazy, using magic to conceal her pregnancy,” what were they talking about?

“Now it makes sense! Those sexy witches that were coming by every month,”

“What are you two idiots talking about?” I ask them.

“Are we allowed to tell him?”

“Why not? He’s a dead man anyway,”

“For your information, you backstabbing piece of s**t, the Luna gave birth three days ago,”

“What are you talking about? The Luna wasn’t pregnant!” I spat

“Oh, but she was. She had her witch friends use magic to conceal it these last few months,” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

“Werewolves using dark magic is forbidden!” I said.

“Who said it was dark magic? They used good magic, and rumor has it, the Alpha got permission from the elders,” So, the Luna was pregnant all this time, and gave birth three days ago? That means she gave birth the same day she banished my family. I lost my family and she gained hers!?

“Tell me, what did they have?” I ask them.

“The Luna gave birth to twins,”

“SHE WHAT!?” I was outraged. I lost my two pups and she gained two pups. This was outrageous. I was more than pissed off at this point. The Alpha and Luna would pay. I had to get out of here. “ARGH!” I roared thrashing in my cell pulling on the chains.

“WHAT THE f**k!?”

“QUICK GET THE WOLFSBANE!” One tried to hold me down, but I kept fighting, using all of my strength. Luckily, I wasn’t being held down my silver chains. I pushed off the one guard holding me down and threw him into the wall knocking him out. I used all the strength I had and pulled one of the shackles free from the wall. The other guard tried to mind link for backup, but it was too late. I swung the loose chain hitting him square in the head. He was out, but not dead.

I was weakened by the adrenaline, but I needed to keep my strength up. I concentrated hard, and tapped into my wolf,

Hondo! We need to shift!

Why should I!? I’ve lost my family because of you!

If we survive, we can replace them! Now take over dammit!

Hondo took over and we shifted breaking the final chain. We immediately shifted back. I took the clothes from one of the unconscious guards and snuck out of the cellar into the main packhouse. Sure enough, everyone was buzzing about the Luna’s new babies.

“Did you hear? Sam had her baby today,” I heard an omega. I knew Lucas and Sam were expecting, but the fact that they get have their pup and I don’t get to have mine made my b***d boil.

You are an imbecile Hank!

Why?

Don’t you get it!? This is what the Luna felt when you helped Tucker kill her unborn pup! I told you to fight it! I told you that if they ever found out we would lose everything, and now we have!

Not if we can replace Casey and our pups, mutt!

I wouldn’t be surprised if Casey and Aspen reject us!

Hondo was right, it was a possibility that Casey and her wolf Aspen would reject us. But I couldn’t think about that now. I needed to get to Tucker and inform him of the new Alpha pups. I snuck out of the packhouse with ease and made my way to the far east side of the territory where were little to no guards. I forced Hondo into shifting again and scaled the wall to avoid detection. Once we were in the clear, he took off running.

I could hear the alarms sounding and Hondo ran as fast as could. We were finally in the clear and we made our way to Tucker’s hideout. It would take a few hours to get there even in wolf form.

{Allie’s P.O.V.}

Two weeks later

There hasn’t been any word on Hank or Tucker yet. Mikey and Ethan used their connections overseas to get more bounty hunters involved. Mikey had even left for a few days to try and replace Hank himself.

Dorian has kept me and the twins on lockdown. We are not allowed to leave the packhouse grounds. We needed three chaperones if we ever went outside. It felt like it was when I first move into the packhouse hiding from Devin. Dorian was paranoid, and he had a right to be. I never argued with him about it. I knew he was being overly cautious, and I couldn’t fault him for that. I loved him for it.

I was also right about Keegan and Daisy. After only two weeks, those two are inseparable. We have to wait until they are passed out to pry them apart. Because of this, Lucas and Sam have agreed to sell back their townhouse to Dorian and move into the packhouse on the second floor. That and Lucas was afraid Sam and Keegan would also be targeted by Hank now.

I was in the nursery changing Daisy when Sam came in with Keegan,

“Hey future in-law,” she said

“Hey,”

“Do you mind if he naps with Daisy?”

“Of course not. I just need to feed her and put her down. Demarco is out like a log right now,” I said pointing to his crib.

“Oh, so he’s like you when you sleep,” she teased. She was right though; I was a heavy sleeper. The only things that could wake me up were alarm clocks, Dorian’s d**k, food, and the twins crying.

“Shut up,” I say to her not wanting to admit out loud she was right. “Oh, my princess, you are already getting so big,” I say to Daisy as I pick her up and position her to be fed.

“Have you tried pumping yet?” Sam asked.

“Pumping? Girl, the twins suck me dry every time they feed. There’s nothing left to pump,” I tell her, and she starts to laugh.

After about ten minutes later, Daisy falls asleep and unlatches on her own. I pick her up, burp her, and place her in the crib with Keegan. I grab the baby monitor, shut off the lights, we leave them to nap in peace. We go down to the second-floor nursery to check in on the others, as soon we get to the second floor, we hear screaming. Sam and I run to the nursery, see Leah on the floor violently shaking, her eyes were glowing,

“Leah!” I shouted. “Leah, talk to me, what do you see?!” she couldn’t respond. Whatever vision she was having, it was bad. “Sam, mind link the Dorian and the others! Tell them to get home now!” I commanded. Dorian and the others were at the office interrogating the rogue. The fact that he was still alive was beyond me. But since Hank escaped, they only had the rogue. He never gave up Tucker, even though Dorian told him he knew about Hank.

“Lucas said that they’re already on the way. Apparently Brandon could feel Leah’s panicked state and they took off,” Sam said. Leah’s ability to see imminent danger meant that something was coming, and it was close. The more threatening the danger, the faster she got the vision, so it gave us time to prepare.

Once Leah calmed down, her eyes turned back to normal, but she was sweating bullets. This was the strongest vision she ever had.

“Leah, can you hear me?” I asked her. She nodded. Sin helped her sit up. “What did you see?”

“We’re going to be attacked, and we’re going to be outnumbered…By a lot. A lot of people are going to die, mostly on their side, but we’re going to lose a lot of people,”

“When? Can you tell me when?” I asked.

“I saw the full moon,” she replied.

“When is the next full moon?” I asked no one in particular.

“Allie, it’s tonight,” Sam said. I stood up and looked at her. I had to gather my thoughts and stay calm.

“Leah, what time did the attack start? What did the sky look like?”

“It was dark, the moon was out when it started,” she replied.

“Okay, it’s roughly two o’clock right now, and the sunset is at…” I pull out my phone to check the weather app. “…it’s at roughly eight tonight, so we have about six hours to prepare,”

“What we do Allie?” Dani asked. Before I could even answer, I could hear screaming from downstairs.

“ALLIE!!”

“LEAH!!”

“SIN!!!”

“DANI!!”

“SAM!!”

All of the guys were home and were freaking out. I mind linked Dorian,

Second-floor nursery!

Immediately I could hear a stampede coming up the stairs and down the hall. Dorian came in first and scooped me up and cradled my head. All of the guys embraced the girls and the pups that were in the nursery.

“Sweetcheeks, are you okay!?” Brandon shouted cupping Leah’s face as she held Sawyer.

“I’m fine, it was just a vision,” she replied.

“Just a vision? Leah, I could feel your panicked state all the way at the firm!” he said to her face and hugging her tight again.

“Baby, are you okay?” Dorian asked me. I nodded my head. All of the guys check on us making sure we were all okay.

“Sam, where is Keegan?” Lucas asked.

“Napping in Daisy’s crib,” she replied.

“Allie, are the twins napping too?” Dorian asks, and I nod. As soon I do, I hear multiple crying through the baby monitor. Dorian puts me down. Sam, Dorian, Lucas, and I go to our nursery on the third floor. We open the door and sure enough, all three of them are awake.

“Keegan… Mommy and Daddy are right here,” Sam says picking up Keegan.

“I got you, princess,” I say to Daisy.

“Come here, big man,” Dorian says as he picks up Demarco. Once we get the pups to stop crying and fall back asleep, Dorian calls a meeting in his office with all of us, and everyone’s parents. The last time we had this many people in the office was the day we got married.

“Son, what is going on?” Ben asked.

“Dad, Leah had a vision of us being attacked, tonight,” Dorian says. All the parents gasp.

“What’s the plan?” Ethan asked.

“Since we know what know roughly what time they will be here, we will have plenty of time to gather the fighters and hunters, perch all of the snipers, and hide away all of the women and young pups. We will be outnumbered, that’s a guarantee according to Leah’s vision, but Leah did say that we will have fewer casualties,”

“But casualties none the less,” Joe said.

“Mom, Aunt Helena, and Aunt Bridget, you will each be in charge of getting women and pups into the panic rooms throughout the house. Sam, you and two female fighters will each guard a panic room in case someone slips past into the packhouse,”

“Yes, Alpha,”

“You three!” He says pointing to Leah, Sin, and me. “You will stay in the panic rooms! You will not come out!”

“But Dorian…”

“NO BUTS ALLIE!” he roared making me flinch. “I CANNOT LOSE YOU! I WILL DIE!” he shouts as he grabs the side of my neck with both hands. “Do as you’re told and stay hidden. I am begging you, baby,” I nod.

“Dorian, I can help though,” Sin said.

“SIN!” Mikey shouts

“I CAN THEIR MINDS IN WOLF FORM!” she defends herself.

“But you can only do that when you’re out in the open! The answer is no! Honey, I am not going to risk losing you either! You will stay hidden with Allen!” Mikey said holding her shoulders.

“No Leah!” Brandon shouts almost as if he knew she was going to try and protest as well. She lowers her head and nods.

“I can help,” Dani chimes in.

“Dani!” Andre exclaims.

“I’m a vampire! I know how to kill a wolf. One bite of vampire venom is all it takes,”

“But you have to maintain the bite for five seconds, and in battle that is like five hours,” Andre says to her. “You cannot stay in one position for that long, you will be an open target,”

“Not if I shimmer while maintaining the bite and feed at the same time to prevent myself from getting weak,”

“How do you feed and kill at the same time?” Brandon asked.

“The first bite I do, I will drink some of their b***d, and then immediately thereafter, I can inject them with vampire venom,”

“Andre, is what she says possible?” Dorian asks. Andre nods. “Fine, Dani, you will fight alongside us, but you stay with one of us or Lucas, do you understand?”

“Yes, Alpha,” Dani bows her. She looks at Andre who is torn about this but gives her his blessing anyways.

“Okay, it’s just past three, everyone, take a few hours with your love ones. At six o’clock sharp, we get to work and start to prepare,” Dorian says. Everyone nods and leaves. Dorian and I soon follow. We go to check on the twins, but see that Ben and Eleanor are already in there.

“You two, go spend time with each other, we got this,” Eleanor says. Dorian and I both nod and go to our room.

When get there, Dorian locks the door and pulls me into a k**s. Our k**s becomes deeper and more sensual, and we start to remove each other’s clothes.
