Divorce Clock Ticking (Kenneth and Angela) -
Chapter 76
Jennifer said, "Mom, it's okay. You already broke ties with Angela at the press conference. Angela must still be furious. Let me handle this." When Jennifer mentioned this, Karen was instantly enraged. "You're right! From now on, I'll no longer recognize her as my daughter!"
At nine o'clock in the evening, Angela and Kenneth returned to the villa.
She took off the necklace and handed it to Kenneth. "Thank you for tonight."
Kenneth's expression suddenly turned cold as he looked at her. "Keep it. You've already worn this necklace. I can't give it to anyone else now." Angela thought about it and said, "How much is it? I'll pay you."
"Do you really need to be so distant with me?!"
Sensing Kenneth's anger, Angela pressed her lips. "Mr. Sinclair, if I don't do this, our relationship will blur."
Angela felt that since they were destined to part ways soon, she didn't want to get entangled with him anymore.
She spoke indifferently. "I'm very tired, and I'm going back to my room. You should rest early too, Mr. Sinclair."
Back in her bedroom, Angela searched for the price of the necklace. Kenneth had bought it at an auction, so she quickly found the price. When she saw the price, Angela immediately wanted to take back what she said earlier.
It was worth 200 million dollars!
She was shocked that such a small stone was worth so much money!
Because of it, Angela had insomnia that night. She had a headache all night and couldn't figure out how to come up with 200 million dollars.
She would never have worn the necklace if she had known Kenneth had bought it for such a high price!
The next morning, Angela walked out of her bedroom with dark circles under her eyes.
Then, they ate breakfast in silence and left for work separately.
Just arriving at the company, Angela saw the reception area filled with flowers, with people buzzing around.
"Wow, who sent these to his girlfriend? So extravagant, I'm so jealous!"
"Is there even space for so many flowers? I think this guy is just showing off!"
"It's none of your business. If you were rich, you could do the same!"
Angela glanced at them and was about to take the elevator when she saw Brenda hurrying towards the reception.
Brenda said, "Throw all these flowers away. From now on, if anyone sends me flowers, just toss them out!"
Angela was surprised that these flowers were from Brenda's admirer.
After giving instructions, Brenda turned, saw Angela, and quickly walked towards her.
Brenda said, "Angie, let's go up together."
Brenda pulled Angela into the elevator reserved for the company's management. Once the doors closed, Angela said teasingly, "Which admirer sent you these flowers?"
Brenda's face darkened, and she said irritably, "Henry, that nutcase? He called me last night, drunk. He apologized to me, planning to make it up to me. I thought he was just talking nonsense, but this morning he sent a truckload of flowers. He's simply out of his mind!"
Angela frowned, "Is he trying to pursue you again?"
"Who knows, but I'll never get back with him. I'm done with jerks!"
Seeing Brenda's determined look, Angela smiled, "He must've been hurt by Debra recently."
Brenda scoffed, "I don't want to get involved in their mess. I believe once he calms down, he'll stop acting crazy."
As they spoke, the elevator reached the top floor. They parted ways at the elevator and returned to their respective offices.
No sooner had Angela sat down in her chair than she received a call from Barbara.
Barbara said, "Ms. Lewis, I've been in Lithoria for a week. Why haven't you contacted me?"
"Barbara, you're so busy. How could I disturb you."
Barbara scoffed, "As long as you ask, I'll make time no matter how busy I am. I've been waiting for you to make a move on me!" Angela was at a loss for words.
Angela thought if people knew the aloof movie star Barbara was actually like this, they wouldn't like her anymore.
Angela said, "I'm not interested in women."
"Ms. Lewis, you're so blunt. You're breaking my heart!"
Angela shuddered, feeling goosebumps all over.
Angela said, "Barbara, can you act normal, please!"
Barbara cleared her throat, finally sounding more serious.
"I've been filming these past days. Today I saw that wretch in our crew was using the popularity of Generations to slander you online. Have you handled it?" "Is that why you called?"
"I'm concerned about you. Why are you so cold? How could you treat me like this?"
Angela said, "Save your acting for the movies."
"Fine, I won't argue with you. When are you free for a meal together?"
"You're so busy with filming. Let's see when you're available."
"Then how about tomorrow night! I'll have my agent book a restaurant!"
"Okay."
"I've got a scene to shoot, so see you then!"
After hanging up, Barbara turned to her agent. "Janet, book a private room for me. I'm having dinner with Ms. Lewis tomorrow night." Janet Walker nodded. "Okay."
The next evening, after telling Kenneth she wouldn't be home for dinner, Angela drove to the restaurant she and Barbara had agreed on.
As Angela walked into the private room, Barbara rushed over and hugged her, planting kisses on her.
Barbara said, "Angie, I've missed you so much!"
Angela was speechless.
Barbara's way of expressing her feelings was still so straightforward, making her overwhelmed.
Angela said, "Let go of me first..."
Barbara kissed her cheek again before finally releasing Angela.
Barbara said, "We haven't seen each other for so long. Don't you miss me?"
"Not really."
"Boohoo, I couldn't believe it!"
Angela's hand trembled as she held the menu. Unable to bear it any longer, she looked at her. "If you keep talking like that, I might just throw you out." "Boohoo, fine!"
Angela was even more speechless.
After they ordered, Barbara finally started talking about Debra.
"I didn't see the news before, or I
wouldn't have let the director fire et
Debra. have many scenes with her in my role, I could have helped you get back at her!"
Seeing Barbara's angry look, Angela couldn't help but smile, "I've handled it. Besides, you're a movie star now. It wouldn't affect your career if you were accused of bullying a newcomer."
Barbara raised an eyebrow. "Can't a movie star stand up for her friend?"
"It's all in the past now. You probably won't run into her again anyway."
"I don't think so. I heard she's already preparing to sign with an agent."
Angela had thought Debra just wanted to experience life in the showbiz, but apparently, she really wanted to be a star.
Angela said, "We finally meet. Let's not talk about people who make us unhappy."
"Right, in about a week, we'll finish filming here. I don't know when I'll see you again."
"But you must focus on your career."
Barbara stared at her face for a moment, then said, "So, if you made a move on me or kept me as your
mistress wouldn't have to work t
and could be with you every day. Are you sure you don't want to consider it?'m perfect. You'll regret missing out on me!"
