Dimi grinned as she entered the house and Mrs. K grabbed her enthusiastically and wrapped her in a tight hug.

“Oh, my love, I missed you,” the woman kissed both of her cheeks warmly. “Welcome home.”

“Thank you,” she hugged her tight. “I missed you, too.”

“A few other people missed you,” she pointed behind her and laughed as Dimi squealed.

“My pretties!” she screeched as she raced to the three friends and dog waiting patiently behind Mrs. K.

They were all crying and hugging each other and when Miklos walked in, he laughed. “Is this my life now? A house full of women who cry all the time?”

“f**k you, Miklos,” Darya broke from Dimi’s grip and walked right up to him as if she weren’t approaching a man, she knew to be a mob boss. “You sold me out. You need your kneecaps smashed.”

He backed up holding his hands up defensively in a movement not befitting the new head of their family. “I apologize. Dimitra has taught me the error of my ways. I have told Kostas I am not to be embroiled in whatever schemes he has plotted for you and my loyalty lies with my wife and her sisters.”

She eyed him dubiously, “is this true?”

“I swear on my life. What can I do to make it up to you?”

“You’re paying our tab tonight at Laskaris.” Darya held his gaze furiously earning a chuckle from Dimi.

He leaned sideways to Dimitra, “you’re really going out on our first night home?”

“Yes.”

Darya pushed his shoulder playfully and shook her head, “you’ve had a week to yourself and she’s walking funny as it is. One night away won’t hurt. We miss her.”

He laughed at Darya’s words, “I told you, my love. You are walking lopsided.”

“Hush!” she shook a finger at him and made wide eyes.

“I will pay bottle service for you ladies for the night but do me a favor and stay in your booth? Since we docked, I had three different phone calls from three different men demanding your whereabouts,” he waved his fingers at the girls. “Kostas is my best friend and Winter is a long-time business associate and Jonas is my employee. Do not make me lose any of them by having to throw them out of my club tonight because they’ve upset my wife.”

“We can’t control the idiocy of your friends.” Dimitra frowned at her husband.

“I ask only you take responsibility for whatever shenanigans you’re going to get up to and not cause chaos in my club.” Miklos was walking towards the stairs. He paused and gave a grin over his shoulder, “though I have no objections to the outfits you all wore last time. I think I might like to see a few men sweat a bit.”

“Who is he?” Magda whispered as he went upstairs whistling. “And why is he whistling Independent Women?”

Dimi giggled, “he’s, my husband. He’s got a thing for music from the last decade, and he wakes up whistling it. I think he dreams in song. He woke up this morning whistling Tik Tok.”

“The Kesha song?” At Dimi’s nod Sienna made a face, “that’s strange.” Sienna frowned as she moved closer to Dimi just to push past her and grab Darya and shake her. “We told you not to get us killed on her first day back and you f*****g went after him in his own house.”

“He’s paying our tab tonight, isn’t he?” Darya giggled. “He certainly was not acting like the a*****e we’ve encountered a few times.”

“He’s definitely not as scary as the night we went to the club and I drank far too much Prosecco,” Magda laughed and then frowned, “do you think he’s letting Ares in tonight?”

“Probably. They’re all friends and business acquaintances. I made a good number of friends though on Miklos’ security team. I can bring a couple of them with us tonight if you want to keep us safe in our booth. No boys allowed.”

Miklos was jogging down the stairs heading to his office at her words and stopped to k**s her cheek warmly, “my love, I will be in your booth multiple times but it’s fine because the rule won’t apply to me. I’m a man not a boy.” He looked to Magda, “and if you want me to tell Ares he is not welcome in my club I will do so.”

“You would?” Magda asked incredulously.

“You are my wife’s sister which makes you family. You fall under my protection, Magda. The three of you do. I know better than to cross my wife. I end up poisoned with my dignity in tatters. If you want me to call him and tell him to f**k off, just say so.”

“Yes, and then he knows I’m hiding like a little coward.” Magda grunted. “I don’t care what he does. If he brings the Wren girl though –”

“If he brings Wren,” Miklos tone went dark and the three women unfamiliar with this side of him blinked at the sudden change, “he will disappear off the f*****g face of the earth.” He looked to Dimitra, “my mother tells me she was back at the flower shop this week.”

“Would you like me to have a chat with your stalker?” Dimi asked him, laughing at his fury.

“No. You put her back in my path because I was cruel to you. I will suffer my punishment, but I implore you to not give her our home address as you once suggested because the men have been ordered to shoot on sight.”

She giggled at his words and noted her friends were agape with eyes wide. She stood on tiptoe and kissed his cheek. “Go to your office. We’re going to go lounge by the pool and plan for our evening out.”

He smiled, “I have a surprise for you which should be arriving in the next ten or fifteen minutes. I’ll have it delivered straight to the pool area for you.” He started to walk away and then turned back and grabbed her into his arms and kissed her thoroughly ignoring the giggles of the women behind him. “I love you, my little wife.”

She touched his cheek, “I love you, my old husband. Now leave us.” She closed her eyes when he kissed her forehead and then moved quickly to his office.

“He f*****g adores you,” Darya said with a giggle. “I never thought I’d see the day where I say Dimi should be with Miklos but if this is an act, it’s going to be a tough one for any man to follow.”

Dimi gave a shy smile at her friend’s words, “he wants us to renew our vows on our anniversary. He wants you all there. He and my mother had a lengthy discussion over my original wedding dress. It seems she saved it. He wants it burned. He said he wants me in a dress to show off my body and not hide it like I’m ashamed.”

“He is gorgeous,” Sienna said with a smile as she hooked her arm through Dimi’s, and they headed to the pool area. “Far better looking in person than in photographs.”

“Did you meet up with Jonas yet?”

“No.” she shook her head. “He sent me a text message Tuesday morning to say he was landing in LA, and he was furious with me for leaving Boston without protection. He demanded my whereabouts. Said I was in trouble for disobeying him. He then added I should not have left my mother unattended and then if all of this wasn’t enough, told me I wasn’t allowed to go to Laskaris Clubs with you.”

“He did what?”

“Yes. Said I wasn’t permitted to hang out with you because clearly, I did not know the depths of the person you are.”

“Ugh,” she made a face, “he watched me burn Ben’s ding doing and hold a gun to his head.”

“You’re in the f*****g mafia,” Sienna grunted at her. “Did he really think I didn’t know you were deadly? Did he forget every party you went to from year one to four I went to with you? Also, every single time you went home, he had the time off and went wherever it is security specialists go on their days off. I believe he thinks while he was away, I hid in my room waiting for you to come home. I might not be the queen of socialization, but I do know how to live.”

Dimi grinned at her, “you definitely need to show him your dance moves.”

“Does Laskaris have a stripper pole?” Sienna asked curiously.

“Maybe. I can’t wait until Jonas replaces out you were paying your mom’s rent in Maine working a stripper pole.”

“Thirteen years of jazz and tap because my mom wanted to get me out of my shell. I can face a room of six thousand without dropping a bead of sweat. Put me one on one and I’m pissing myself. I was good at stripping, not so much the lap dances.” She giggled naughtily.

“I told Miklos,” Dimi admitted to her.

“What? Why? He’ll tell Jonas!”

Sienna tugged at her arm, but Dimi held fast. “Nope. You heard him. You’re now his family. He said he admired any woman who would do for her mother what you did for yours and he respects you take care of your mom. He also,” Dimi patted her hand reassuringly, “said the jet is ready whenever you need it to bring your mom to California and for you to not worry. He has a friend who is a physician, and his wife is a nurse and they have agreed to accompany your mom back here.”

“Are you kidding me?” Sienna’s cheeks were flushed. “I thought he would automatically hate me because of what we did.”

“Not at all. He said given your situation with your mom; he understands your motives.”

“He’s not what I was expecting.”

“He’s not what we met last week,” Magda grunted as she threw herself onto a lounger. “Last time I saw him he pretty much called Dimi a traitor. I had frostbite from how cold he was.”

“He said he was terrified I was going to go to war against my dad and dad would lock me up and try to break me.”

“He wanted you to run?” Darya was incredulous as she yanked her sweatshirt off her head and threw it on another lounger before moving to put an umbrella up.

“He told me he said what he said to chase me away.” She sat cross legged on a lounger. “He said after I told him what had happened to me in detention and how he left me unprotected he would do whatever it was to keep me safe and happy again and if it meant a life without him, he would let me have it. He told me if it meant Vasili put a bullet in his head, he would accept it so long as he knew I was safe.”

“Did he think your father would hurt you?” Magda frowned.

“Let’s just say my dad is not as patient as Miklos when it comes to me fighting back. His instructions to Miklos when I left were to drug me, knock me out and bring me back to LA for him to deal with.”

“Your father is an a*****e.” Sienna grumbled.

“I can’t argue with you.”

“Is your mom really asexual?” Darya asked with curiosity

“Yes. It’s why he has lovers.”

“Why so many though?”

Dimi gave a sad smile, “I think he’s chasing a high.”

“What do you mean?”

“I watched him this morning with my mom. I mean for the first time, as an adult, watched them with the information I have now. She loves him like a friend, a best friend and you can see it on her face but he,” she shook her head, “he loves her, and I cannot tell you how many times he reached to touch her and pulled his hand back. He wants her desperately, even now after all this time, and wants her to want him back but it’s not in her DNA. I think he keeps looking for the connection with another woman they way he felt with mom when they were intimate, and it never happens.”

“It’s kind of sad.” Darya whispered. “Imagine living with someone and loving them so much you want to be with them in the most intimate of ways and they replace you repulsive.”

“Which makes what he did to Dimi this much more deplorable,” Magda commented equally quiet. “He of all people then should have understood the pain Dimi was going through when Miklos rejected her. He sentenced her to a life just like his.”

“I agree,” Dimi said. “He and I are going to have a talk just the two of us tomorrow. I want to repair my relationship with my father, but he has to understand better how he hurt me.” She sighed, “did you know he insists he and Giorgio knew all along Miklos was in love with me. Said the minute I hit puberty Miklos’ eyes were always on me and he was chasing the boys off?”

“No!”

“That’s weird,” Sienna said.

“Miklos agrees,” Dimi giggled. “Said nothing made him feel dirtier and more sordid than the time I took off my sweet sixteen dress in front of him. If I’d only known, I had him by the balls back then I would have tried harder. Instead, I covered up more.”

The grinding of wheels scraping along the terrazzo made the group of women look up in surprise. Mrs. K was leading an overly thin flamboyant man with bright pink hair, exquisite make-up and immaculately dressed with an associate pushing a wardrobe behind them.

Mrs. K made big eyes, “I’ll bring refreshments out in a moment for you but apparently Miklos asked this gentleman to bring you outfits for your night on the town tonight?”

“Are you kidding me?” Darya grunted, “he’s going to dictate our clothing if we go to his club?”

“This is not happening,” Dimi stood up ready to confront the man and his assistant as they wheeled the covered portable closets into the space.

The man rushed to her excitedly, “you must be Mrs. Lykiaos-Laskaris. Mr. Laskaris did tell me you would be the one with the delicious curves. My name is Inky. I’m excited to have the opportunity to dress you. He mentioned he would prefer you in leather but if it’s not comfortable for you then I have plenty of other options. Also, whoever Darya is, Mr. Laskaris said something about owing you one and suggested you pick from the more risqué items we have just to f**k with his best friend.” His hands clapped together once in excitement and the assistant immediately started unveiling the clothing.

“I like the new and improved Miklos,” Darya raced past Dimi and moved to the assistant who was pulling the canvas covers with a flourish.

“It’s not so much new and improved as it is the man I knew before my eighteenth birthday.” Dimi watched as Magda and Sienna were also shoving past her in excitement, and she c****d her head curiously. “My husband arranged this. Mentioned leather?”

“Yes, he said there is a photo you showed him, and he’s been wanting to see it in person? He also said he can’t wait to dance with you again so to make it sure the clothing is such you can move.” He put his hands together as if enamored by the words.

She gave a little giggle at the memory of showing him the photo of her in a dominatrix outfit and his reaction in the taverna. She knew her cheeks were pink as she avoided the gazes of the girls and made her way towards Miklos’ office.

She knocked once and entered and saw him sitting behind the desk frowning at his computer. “What’s wrong?”

“I called in a favor with a friend I have back in New York, and they might have gone overboard.” He rubbed his forehead and met her gaze, “did your surprise arrive?”

“It did? Do you really want me in leather in the club?”

“f**k yes, I want the world to know how smoking my wife is and how I’m on my knees for her,” his answer was resolute. “But you need to be able to move in it because I can’t wait to dance with you again.”

“Did you really want Darya dressed risqué?”

“Hey,” he held his hands up, “I warned Kostas if I was the trial run, he was screwed, and he didn’t listen. Now he’s texting me relentlessly losing his mind over the s**t she pulled on him. He sent me a photo of the outfit she was in when she went to the parlor. I’ve never had a text with him with so many exclamation points before. Your father once accused you had me by the balls, but she has Kostas wound so tight, I think his might explode.”

“Why are you enjoying it so much?”

“He laughed!” Miklos frowned at her. “The motherfucker laughed at me over every one of your pranks and when you left the country told me I deserved it and hoped you made me pay for being a pathetic little b***h. He also said he hoped you filed the divorce papers, married a nerd, and had babies born with black-rimmed glasses. It’s my turn to laugh.”

She moved around the desk and wrapped her arms over his shoulders and kissed his cheek. “And here I thought you were making it up to Darya.”

“Have we met? It’s always about me.” He tugged her so she was sitting on his lap, and he cupped her chin, “I love you, agape mou.”

“I love you,” she kissed his lips softly.

“When we don’t have a houseful of your screaming sisters, we are going to f**k on my desk.”

She slapped his chest at his blunt words, “Miklos!”

“Don’t pretend you are angry. If anything, you’re now annoyed you invited them over for a day by the pool and you don’t get to be bent over my desk taking it hard and fast.”

“You’re awful,” she tried to keep a straight face.

“You could probably just,” he looked to her mouth and his crotch, and she g*****d and got off his lap.

“You have work to do considering our fathers decided this morning to retire.”

“I believe those two bastards planned this from the beginning. The minute we gave in, we were getting it all.”

“Hey, I would have given in at eighteen, but someone had his boxers in a bunch over an age gap.” She jumped back giggling away from his grasp. “You need therapy wanting to f**k your kid sister.”

“You’ve been wanting to suck my d**k since you were thirteen.”

“True story,” she winked brazenly at him. “Watched a porn at a girl’s sleepover and spent many countless nights.”

“Girls watch porn at sleepovers? Jesus, Kostas, and I talked about swim meets and D&D. What kind of friends did you have?”

“Not those ones after mama found out,” she laughed as she prepared to leave his office. “The next day the father got in trouble with his wife for watching porn on the computer and turned out it was us. The mom called all our moms. I wasn’t allowed another sleepover after, but it was too late. I already had all kinds of devious things in my mind.”

“Our daughters are never having sleepovers.” He grinned, “We should act those fantasies out,” his voice followed her as she headed back to her friends.

She found Sienna coming out of the pool cabana wearing a white bodycon dress with triangular slits starting at the breasts and running in a pattern down the entire side of the dress. She giggled, “Jonas will shoot people if you wear this.”

“I’m wearing it then. Hopefully, he shoots himself, right in the d**k.”

“Do you really want to shoot him in the d**k? You may want it eventually.” Darya cautioned as she came out of the cabana behind her.

Dimi’s eyes popped open. “Um, I don’t know if Miklos meant that risqué.” The dress her friend was wearing was bubble gum pink and while it flowed gently from the high mock turtleneck to just below her a*s cheeks, it was sheer exposing all her skin with the exception of the strategically placed pink bra and thong panties. “Kostas and Miklos decades old friendship will be ruined.”

“I should wear it, then?” Darya questioned with a wide grin.

“You should definitely wear it,” Dimi giggled loudly.

Magda came out wearing a lace covered satin black bustier which had her girls sitting high and perky and it was paired with a pair of black satin pants and at first Dimi was questioning the slacks until Magda moved and she noted the legs were split all the way down from the waistband. Completely open. Every step a flash of Magda’s a*s happened.

Magda paused and looked at herself in the mirror Inky had set up. “Being stupid rich is making me brave and brazen. I want to wear these grocery shopping.” She stuck her leg forward and giggled when Sienna grumbled about seeing her v****a.

Inky stepped forward, “we have specially designed undergarments to work with the trousers. Don’t worry about any wardrobe malfunctions. All your bits will be covered.” He looked to Dimi. “Your friends chose a dress for you in the room. Your husband said you usually dress quite reserved so not sure if will approve but try it on and give us a twirl.”

She went into the room and gave a giggle at the sight in front of her. They knew her too well.
