Chapter 101 Suspicion
Lucy didn’t realize her plan would backfire. She was instantly enraged and remorseful.
Lucy felt extremely distressed at the thought that Michael and Chloe would still be entangled afterward.
She picked up her cell phone and dialed Kuan Michael’s number.
The call was quickly answered.
“Michael, are you busy now?”
All Lucy heard was the faint sound of breathing. “No.”
Lucy sighed in relief, “I… I don’t want to bother you, but you know I’ve only been in contact with you since I got back home, and there’s no one else I can talk to. Michael, I think I’m falling apart, and I’m so upset, so could you come over and talk to me?”
Michael was silent for a long time before replying, “Okay.”
It was only when she saw that her tactics were working again that Lucy finally felt less miserable.
“I’ll meet you at my place, and we can have dinner together by the way.”
She sounded much better than she had earlier, without a hint of
sadness.
It was seven in the evening when Michael arrived.
Lucy opened the door to greet him without any signs of becoming annoyed that he was late.
“Michael, you’re here. I made your favorite seafood, so come on in!”
Hearing the word seafood, Michael’s eyes showed a hint of embarrassment.
He didn’t actually like seafood, but Chloe just liked to make it for him.
The two sat at the table, and Lucy put some food on Michael’s plate.
“Michael, I heard Sir Shawn hit you today and stopped your divorce from Chloe.”
Michael responded gently.
“Michael, why did Sir Shawn hear that rumor? It was spread inside the company, I didn’t know what to do anymore. Was Sir Shawn angry before he went to the county court to see you? I’m sorry, it’s all my fault.”
Lucy purposely said these just to test his attitude.

Michael, however, stopped the fork in his hand, looked at her suspiciously, and said, “Lucy, what exactly is your relationship with Chloe?”
He knew that the two were sisters and that Lucy was Charles‘ child from an affair with his mistress.
But if that was all, Chloe wouldn’t have hated Lucy so much.
Michael used to be prejudiced against Chloe, so he had always thought she was deliberately targeting Lucy because she was jealous.
But now Michael was reliving the memories.
Something had definitely happened between Chloe and Lucy.
But Chloe never told Michael.
Lucy’s hand was shaking, and the meat on the fork fell off.
She blinked and whispered, “Michael, why are you asking this suddenly? I’ve told you before that Chloe is my half–sister.”
Were they really as simple as half–sisters?
Michael’s eyes kept falling on Lucy’s face, trying to read all her micro–expressions.
Just when Lucy couldn’t keep it up, he averted his eyes.
“It’s nothing. It just popped into my head, so I asked. It’s already

late, so I’ll leave now.”
Seeing that he was leaving, Lucy immediately stood up and chased after him.
“You just ate a little bit of food. Was the food I made awful?”
Was he in such a hurry to leave to go back to Chloe?
