“Chloe!”

Chapter 49: It’s All His Fault

Chloe saw Michael enter and didn’t flinch. “Michael, unbind

me!”

Seeing her still snuggled up in another man’s arms, Michael gritted his teeth and spat out, “Thought you had some backbone? Now you’re begging me to unlock your card?”

The go–go dancer next to them stood up for Chloe. “Hey, we’re all guys here. Chloe’s money is in the account. What gives you the right to pocket it?”

Michael gritted his teeth. “Chloe, when did you meet him?”

Chloe was grinning from ear to ear. The go–go dancers kept calling her sweet names all night, making her feel over the

moon.

Faced with the sweet and obedient gogo dancers, Chloe had no trouble choosing sides. Especially when compared to Michael, who not only had a cold demeanor but also froze her bank account. She was definitely sticking with the go–go dancer.

She scoffed, retorting, “We just met tonight, but it feels like we’ve known each other forever!”

“Seriously, Michael, what does it matter when I met him? Just give me my money back!”

There’s still some of her money on that card!

The go–go dancer, hearing Chloe speak up for her, smirked with newfound confidence. Leaning in close, she whispered, “How about I go with you tonight?”

Chloe grinned and nodded. “Sure thing!

Michael’s face darkened to the extreme.

He strode forward and yanked Chloe to her feet.

“Come home with me.”

Michael didn’t realize his own strength and gripped too hard.

Chloe winced and hissed in pain, yanking her hand away from his grip.

“Who are you, and why should I go with you?”

Michael’s expression was so serious it sent chills down spine.

First, she sold the ring, and now she’s got gogo dancers showing up. She’s really pushing his limits.

“Open your eyes and see who I am!”

He didn’t hesitate any longer; he scooped Chloe up into his

arms.

He hoisted her over his shoulder and strode out of the room. The manager chased after them, demanding payment. Michael tossed a card over his shoulder without breaking stride.

Outside the bar, the cold wind hit Chloe, making her even more drunk.

“Who are you? What do you want? Let go of me!”

She was causing a scene outside. The go–go dancer couldn’t take it anymore, stepped in to block her, and shot a cold glare at Michael.

“Didn’t you hear her say she doesn’t want to go with you?”

He thought, “Think you can steal my business? Not a chance!”

The go–go dancer sized Michael up and down. Seeing his suit, she mistook him for a fellow performer.

“Even as a go–go dancer, can’t you show some professionalism? Do you even know the rules?”

“Our job is to keep the guests happy. Look at her–she’s miserable with you. You took the money but didn’t deliver. Trying to squeeze more out of her? You’re a disgrace to our profession!”

Michael’s eyes widened in shock as he stared at him.

Candy stood to the side, barely holding back her laughter.

That guy said Michael was a go–go dancer, which was bad enough. But then he had the nerve to say Michael wasn’t even good enough for that.

Candy silently cheered inside.

Michael was fuming, too fed up to argue with the go–go dancer. He turned his attention to Chloe in his arms.

“Chloe, need me to remind you about that signature?”

Chloe, who had been out of it, snapped back to her senses a bit. She stopped causing a scene.

She blinked her wide, glistening eyes at Michael.

Michael let out a cold chuckle.

“Wow, bold move. Still married, yet you’re out drinking on my tab? Are they more fun than me?”

Chloe scoffed, “You don’t fulfill your husband duties, so why can’t I replace someone else?”
