Lucas sensed something was off right away. He jumped up and headed over.

"What's up?" he asked.

Connor frowned, "The door's locked."

Lucas tried the door a few times, but it wouldn't budge.

"Stop trying," Connor said. "It's locked from the outside; we're stuck."

"I'll call Martin," Lucas suggested, reaching for his phone. But then he realized something was wrong.

His calls weren't going through.

Connor checked his phone and saw he had no signal either.

"What the heck is going on?" Lucas wondered aloud.

Connor explained, "Someone must've set up a signal jammer. That's why we're not getting any service in here."

Lucas was puzzled, "Who would pull something like this, and for what reason?"

Suddenly, something clicked in Connor's mind.

He turned to Lucas, "Did Linda give you this diary to pass on to me?"

Lucas looked surprised, "How did you know?"

Connor quickly pieced it together. Linda's intention wasn't to mess with their marriage. She just wanted them both stuck here. Connor chuckled at the irony.

Lucas, still clueless, asked, "What's so funny?"

Connor replied, "Your bride doesn't want you, the groom, at the wedding she's so carefully planned."

Lucas was stunned. It took him a moment to process.

Linda had played him again. She wanted a wedding that everyone knew about, but it wasn't for them.

A shiver ran down Lucas's spine.

"Linda! Linda! You've tricked me again!" he shouted, his anger boiling over.

"What on earth does she want?"

Lucas muttered, pacing the f t wrap his head aroor

Did Linda lock him up just for some twisted sense of ceremony? Or was there something bigger at play?

No, that couldn't be it. She wouldn't

Especially with the baby not yet born safely. She cared too much about the child to be so reckless.

So, it seemed she just wanted a wedding with herself, even if it was all make-believe.

But then another thought struck Lucas.

"How did you know all this?" he asked Connor, shocked. "You... knew too?"

Connor replied coolly, "It was a hunch before, but now it's clear."

"How did you figure it out?"

Connor said, "Didn't you notice how she looks at Chloe? It's the same way she looks at us."

Full of ambition and possessiveness. Always a touch of jealousy.

He'd thought she was jealous of Chloe, but really, she envied the man beside Chloe.

Connor added with a bitter edge, "Who knew we'd both end up as Linda's pawns?"

The two of them started

brainstorming a way out. The door was reinforced like a fortress, impossible to open from inside.

And this room was chosen just right. Not a single window, surrounded by solid walls.

Clearly, unless someone opened the door from the outside, they weren't getting out anytime soon.
