She knew she had to steer clear of the spotlight. The last thing she needed was to get tangled up with Lisa. Honestly, dealing with Lisa was never on her agenda. So, she turned to make an early exit from the stage, hoping to slip away quietly.

But Lisa wasn't having it. She went into full panic mode, desperate to make a scene. She'd wanted to tear Chloe apart, but Connor and Grant were like an unbreakable fortress in front of her. Besides, she wasn't even a match for Chloe. Just because she couldn't stand up

to her didn't mean others couldn't.

Claire was the only one who could rival Chloe now. As Claire made her move to leave, Lisa dashed over, tripping off the stage in her haste, and landed right next to Claire. Without missing a beat, she clutched Claire's leg, pleading, "Ms. Claire, save me! I'm on your side, please help me, won't you?"

Claire was caught off guard by Lisa's theatrics. Instead of focusing on Chloe, Lisa clung to her like a lifeline. Trying to shake her off was no easy task, as Lisa held on for dear life. Barrett rushed over to help, struggling to pry Lisa's hands away. Lisa was surprisingly strong, but after a lot of effort, Barrett finally managed it.

Claire stepped back, trying to compose herself. Her hair was a mess from the scuffle, and one of her high heels was missing, courtesy of Lisa. She almost lost it right there but knew this wasn't the time to let anger get the best of her. She cast a chilly glance at Chloe, then decided to ditch her other high heel and walk away barefoot.

Barrett kept pace with her, jogging alongside. Meanwhile, Lisa lay on the ground, still yelling, "Ms. Claire, save me! You promised you'd cover for me, no matter what. Please, I'm begging you..."

The QUEEN jewelry show wound

down amid a flurry of criticism. The guests had all left, and Lisa was carted off to the police station once more. Even then, she refused to back down, hurling curses at Chloe and insisting Claire would come to her rescue. She vowed revenge once she was out.

The reporters were swarming the place, capturing every chaotic moment. Chloe had orchestrated this whole scene, and this was the climax she'd been waiting for. Soon, the exhibition hall was quiet, with only Chloe, Connor, and Grant

remaining, along with a rant

staff

tidying up.

Chloe finally got a chance to chat with Grant. "Thanks a million, buddy. You saved me from a massive headache today," she said gratefully.

Grant playfully tapped her forehead. "You only remember me when you need a favor."

Chloe laughed and stuck her tongue out. "I know, I know. Your birthday's coming up soon, and I've got a big present planned for you. I haven't forgotten."

Connor watched the pair, his

expression calm but feeling a bit

uneasy inside. Chloe seemed

different around Grant. She wasn't

ve

her usual confident, dazzling self. Instead, she was playful and carefree, full of trust and ease. It was a side of her he'd never really seen, despite them being husband and wife.
