the world go round. At this point, what else did she have to cling to besides money?

Diana wasn't clueless; those shares were a goldmine, far exceeding the entire wealth of the Gilbert family. The dividends she could rake in every year would eclipse the total assets of the Gilberts. It wasn't that she was obsessed with money, but let's face it, money makes "Why are you handing this to me out of nowhere? It's just a cover for your own blunders," Diana said, glaring at Chloe like she was some kind of thug. How could Chloe even have the nerve to pull this stunt?

"Does Uncle Connor know? Does he have any idea you're holding this video over my head?" Diana challenged.

Chloe's smile was all charm and mischief. "Whether he knows or not doesn't really matter. What matters is, you've got no way out."

"If this video goes public, the Shen Corporation's stocks are bound to take a nosedive."

Diana's grip tightened. She cared a lot about her reputation. She was a prominent figure among the Eldridge Elites, and even though she was disabled now, she was still the Gilbert family's esteemed daughter. But if word got out that she tried to frame Connor, who knew what people would whisper behind her back. Not that it was the end of the world, but still.

"If I remember correctly, your grandfather Lando and Jeffery were best buddies. If he replaces out what you've done, he'd definitely have to explain things to Jeffery. You know how stubborn and upright your granddad is; you know exactly how he'd deal with you."

That hit Diana where it hurt. Lando

cherished his family and never let her mother's status affect his feelings for Diana. But he was stubborn. He loved her, but he never recognized her mother's position,

thinking her mother was an

unwelcome presence with

questionable morals. For years, he'd never shown her mother any warmth. As a result, all the wealth from the Gilbert family's Second branch went to Pax. Thankfully, his bias didn't extend to Diana. From a young age, he showered her with love. But if he learned about her plot against Connor, given his bond with Jeffery and his unyielding nature, he'd surely cast her out. Even if he didn't, he'd send her abroad, never to return. That was something she just couldn't accept.

"Chloe, don't push me too far. It's just a video; don't care. I've already hit rock bottom, and I don't care what people think of me anymore You can't make me give up my 5% stake in Sartori Corporation.

Even though she was freaking out inside, Diana held her ground. It wasn't really about the money. Those shares were a symbol, a connection to Uncle Connor that was uniquely theirs. Chloe shrugged, "Alright, if you're not willing to give them up, so be it." With that, she dialed a number. "Mr. Martin? I've got a story that'll make the city buzz."

Diana was in full-blown panic. She

lunged forward, desperate to grab Chloe's phone, but her balance was off, and she fell hard on the floor. Chloe didn't even glance her way After ending the call, she crouched down, letting Diana see her phone screen. Diana watched as Chloe prepared to send the video. At the very last second, Diana caved in, "Okay, I agree. Don't send it, don't

make it public."

She couldn't bear to leave. Going abroad meant never coming back. She might never set eyes on Uncle Connor again. Compared to losing him forever, the shares seemed trivial.

Chloe had seen this coming. She quickly pulled a share transfer agreement from her bag. "Sign it."

With no other option, Diana signed the document. Her fingers trembled uncontrollably with frustration and anger as she did so.
