Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover -
Chapter 733
Chloe chimed in, "You know what they say, 'Charity begins at home.""
Connor chuckled at her choice of words. "Charity begins at home" did tickle his fancy. Pure White was his domain, a secret well kept from most of the Eldridge Elites. But today, he was in high spirits. "I'll swing by to pick you up tomorrow night, then." Chloe nodded, a spark of excitement in her eyes. "QUEEN's top three designers are all independent. I haven't met the other two yet, and I'm really looking forward to it."
Connor grinned, "I hope you meet some new friends."
The next morning, Chloe made her way to the QUEEN headquarters bright and early. Situated in the heart of the city, she was pleasantly surprised to replace that it was just a stone's throw from Sartori Corporation. The two buildings were separated by only a street, with a footbridge conveniently linking them. This unexpected proximity delighted Chloe. She could not only commute with Connor but also pop over for lunch. She fondly remembered the delicious meals she'd had at the Sartori Corporation cafeteria during a major election day. Once inside the building, Chloe headed to Grant's office. Grant greeted her with an easygoing, "Oh, you're here?"
Chloe nodded, taking in the spacious, top-floor office. It had an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a breathtaking view of the cityscape. On cloudy days, the swirling clouds gave the impression of a celestial palace.
"Want to check out your office?" Grant offered.
Chloe was taken aback, "It's ready already?"
Grant replied, "It's been set aside for a few years. Gave it a little refresh yesterday."
Instead of heading to his office door, Grant moved to a wall on the left that Chloe had noticed earlier. It had a door, and she'd been curious about its purpose. Connor's office had a similar setup, with a door leading to his private rest area. She figured Grant's was no different.
Grant swung the door open, revealing an even more expansive office. The layout mirrored Grant's, but the colors were warmer, more inviting. Chloe approached the desk, where a photo of her was displayed. It captured her younger self during a boxing match. That day, she had emerged victorious, her arm raised by the referee amidst a sea of cheering fans.
Chloe picked up the photo, lost in memories. Those days had been the wildest chapter of her life, filled with reckless energy and raw intensity-a stark contrast to her earlier life. Only Grant and their mentor knew about that time. The thrill of victory and the power of conquering a tough opponent were unforgettable.
"Did you take this picture?" Chloe asked, waving the photo.
Grant walked over, "Yeah, I did. I actually bet on your opponent that day and lost quite a bit. But seeing you so proud and happy after the win, I was thrilled for you." Chloe smiled, "Sorry about that, but I love this photo. It really fires me up, just what I need right now."
