Connor spoke in a laid-back tone, "I took her up to the rooftop of the Sartori Tower... and pushed her off."

His words were so casual that Chloe didn't grasp them at first. She took a sip of pear cider and then snapped her head up. "What?"

Connor was still calmly eating his pasta. He had a certain grace about him, eating slowly and neatly, even taking a moment to wipe a splash of sauce off the table with a napkin. He looked effortlessly elegant.

"Did you really push her?" Chloe asked, her heart skipping a beat.

Connor simply nodded. Chloe knew the Sartori Tower had safety nets, so Diana wasn't in mortal danger. But Diana didn't know that. The moment Connor pushed her, it was as if he meant to kill her. Such fear, even if unfounded, would stay with her forever. "What happened to her?" Chloe pressed.

"I had the Gilbert family come get her. She's not going to die," Connor replied.

Though she wouldn't die, the psychological blow was immense. Being pushed off a rooftop without warning was like experiencing death itself. The shock and fear were something one never forgets.

"So, making her feel the fear of death was your idea of punishment?"

Connor shrugged, "It's the beginning, maybe even the end."

"What do you mean?"

"I'll make sure the Gilbert family sends her away. She won't be around us anymore."

Chloe nodded in agreement, "That's probably for the best. Hopefully, someday she'll see reason."

Back at the Gilbert family home,

Diana was trembling uncontrollably

feeling the pain in her phantom limbs Phantom limb pain had always been her personal torment, and now it silenced her with agony.

Seeing her daughter in such distress, Suzanne was furious, "I really misjudged you, Connor. How could you do this?"

She held Diana tightly. "My dear, why did you have to be so stubborn?"

Diana was soaked in sweat from the pain, as if she had just been pulled out of water. "Mom, I want them all gone. I want them all dead."

Suzanne, heartbroken, touched

Diana's face. "Diana, that's not

realistic. Let it go. Connor held back

this time, but next time, you might

not be as lucky. You can't beat them."

Diana shook, gritting her teeth, "I want them dead. I want them all in hell."

Tears filled Suzanne's eyes. "How about I send you to America or maybe Australia? Start fresh there."

But Diana became frantic, "I don't want to go. I won't leave."

"You don't have a choice. Jeffrey himself ordered it. Your ticket's for tomorrow."

Suddenly, Diana had a realization,

"It's Connor isn't it? He wants me to leave the country, to get rid of me. He thinks he can just make me. disappear. Well, I won't go. Even

from hell, I'll drag them all down with me.

Suzanne, tears streaming down her face, said, "I'm sorry I can't give you what you want. We just can't win this fight."

"We still have to fight," Diana insisted. "And there's Claire. I need to replace Claire."

Hearing the name Claire, Suzanne's face fell.
