Grant seemed to pause for a heartbeat. After a few seconds, he finally asked, "Why are you asking me that?" Chloe's face grew serious. She eyed Grant with a hint of skepticism, "Come on, just a simple yes or no." Grant answered calmly, "Of course, yes." In that moment, Chloe's eyebrows knitted together. Could she have really been wrong about Connor? But then, Grant reached out and playfully flicked her brow, "You're like a sister to me, family. Why should I care who you have feelings for?" Chloe let out a relieved breath but pressed on, "So, your feelings for me are just like those for Taylor, right?" Grant ruffled her hair gently, "Exactly. What wild thoughts are you having?" Chloe nodded, "I was just overthinking. You should head back; I have something to take care of." With that, she jogged off. As Grant watched her leave, his expression darkened slightly. He pulled out his phone and called Edgar.

After stepping outside, Chloe called Teddy and found out Connor was in his office. Fifteen minutes later, she stood at Connor's office door. He was engrossed in some paperwork and didn't even glance up when she arrived. Chloe walked over and, noticing his focus, teased, "Sweetheart, you're holding that document upside down." Connor instinctively flipped it and realized she was right-it was upside down. Chloe had called him out knowing he wasn't really paying attention. Connor was annoyed, closing the document and tossing it aside, "What brings you here?" Chloe, trying to mend things, moved behind him and wrapped her arms around his neck, nuzzling him like a kitten, "Don't be mad. You're not very handsome when you're upset." But today, Connor wasn't in the mood. He gently pulled her arms away, impatience evident on his face, "Is there something you need?" Chloe frowned, feeling a bit of her own anger rise, "Connor, how long are you going to keep sulking like this?" It wasn't her fault, yet here she was, trying to make peace. And every single time, he acted like a child. Connor spoke, "Chloe, I don't like you working with your friend. You've even got a door between your offices. Does that seem right to you?" "Connor, you still don't trust me. He's just like family to me." "Chloe, you used to be so sharp. How do you get so dense when it comes to him?" "I've already checked, and he only sees me as a sister. You're making something out of nothing!" Connor chuckled in frustration, "A sister? Why do you believe everything he says but doubt my every word? Chloe, who's your husband here?" "This is different, Connor. I'm not going to abandon my life and career because of your jealousy." Connor laughed bitterly, "Jealousy? Yeah, in your eyes, I'm just your jealous Trophy Boy, while you and your friend are the dream team set to conquer the world!" Chloe was equally frustrated. It seemed impossible to get through to Connor. She retorted coldly, "I've known Grant since I was thirteen. If he had any intentions, he would've said something long before I ended up marrying you." Connor's gaze turned icy, but there was a slight, mocking smile on his lips, "So, it's only because he didn't make a move. If he had, you'd have gone for it, right?"
