"How do you know he's into guys? I think he likes women."

"If he were into women, why would he be dating me? To him, I'm just a guy."

Chloe, both exasperated and worried, said, "But isn't it possible he fell for you, no matter if you're a man or a woman? Maybe he struggled to accept you as a man but decided to love you for who you are?" Cassie stared at Chloe, utterly shocked, before saying, "I don't get it."

Chloe rolled her eyes. "You're clueless. Both of you are a perfect match."

Cassie didn't actually misunderstand; she just thought it was impossible.

"Why not dress as a woman tomorrow and see how he reacts?" Chloe suggested.

Cassie, skeptical, replied, "That might not be a great idea. If he doesn't like women, we could be over, and I'm not ready for that."

"If he can't accept your female side, it's only a matter of time before you two split. Better to rip off the band-aid," Chloe reasoned.

Cassie found herself agreeing but eventually said, "Let's just see how things play out."

Chloe didn't push it further.

She had her own challenges to deal with.

Chloe returned to Villa No. 9 late that night, only to replace Connor still missing.

Frustrated, she tossed her bag onto the bed, facing yet another sleepless night.

In the days that followed, Chloe and Connor were completely out of contact.

When Cassie learned of her situation, she suggested Chloe move in with her.

Cassie had bought a cozy two-bedroom apartment downtown, right on the top floor with a breathtaking night view.

Thinking the view might help with her insomnia, Chloe packed her things and moved in.

Connor's colleagues noticed he'd developed an odd habit: he was glued to his phone, even during meetings.

Despite appearing distracted, he

could still spot a decimal error in a financial report, which led to a moody and unpredictable demeanor, plus endless late-night meetings that left everyone exhausted

QUMS

Teddy knew the couple was having major issues, especially since Connor had been crashing at the office for a week.

After yet another meeting, Teddy saw Connor fixated on his phone and sighed, "If you really think Grant has an agenda, aren't you just giving him a chance to swoop in by acting like this?"

Connor frowned, looked up, and said, "So, I should just give in again? It's always me giving in."

"What do you want, then?" Teddy asked.

"She's got what it takes to start her own brand, and Sartori Corporation would back her all the way. Why won't she?" "Because you're only seeing things from your point of view, not really considering her feelings," Teddy pointed out. Connor fell silent, lost in thought.

Teddy went on, "You know Chloe's

background. She's been let down by her family and friends, so she values what she has now more than ever Grant's been there for her since the start. He's not just a friend, he's like family. She has no reason to deave QUEEN. And knowing Chloe, even if she starts her own brand she wouldn't want Sartori Corporation involved."
