Draconess
Vol.3 Chapter 4

Uleya’s POV

Late Night

I am the only one strong enough to escape Zarcar’s grounding spell that night.

Well, I tricked the magic into reverse by keeping pomegranate seeds in my fist when he made the sealing spell on all our rooms. My seeds absorbed the magic and gave me immunity.

While the rest of the witches succumbed to the restrictions, mostly due to our inability to fight it, I kept my secret to myself that I thwarted the Advisor to the King. Although he was a father-figure to me, thwarting Zarcar was equivalent to treason, and he wasn’t one to hand out mercies. Even so, this expectation was an advantage – no one would suspect I would ever be able to, nor have the guts to defy him.

But I was antsy at 22. I was ready for an adventure. It was in my blood. My whole life, I craved to be a warrior like the men who were recruited into the armies. However, I wanted to be a warrior woman with my magic as my weapon.

I might not be able to turn into a Dragon, but Chyronex had raised me since I was an orphan, and I mastered her best spells.

I knew death to mortals was sometimes quick, sudden or unexpected, from illness, infection or otherwise. I wanted to make a name for myself before I exited this world, however it chose to take me.

Which is why I’m currently in the Shadow Green – after successfully scaling the walls, using an invisibility spell to conceal me from mortal eyes. The guards, watchers and protectors would not see me, although the spell itself would only last an hour.

Luckily, I grew up in these forests so I shouldn’t get lost exploring the green.

I am waiting by my favorite spot, a traveler’s well surrounded by ferns, it was abandoned but still a helpful marker for navigating the Shadow Green. The forest at night could be so dark here, even with the moon, it’s like the trees created corridors to your death.

Even with the dangers present, I consider this well to be good luck charm.

I sit on the edge of the well in my lace night gown that I cut short to make climbing down the vines of the palace walls easier. My heart is still racing at my foolishness but also the fact that I did it. I am not entirely alone out here, thankfully. I am accompanied by wildlife, insects, glow bugs and the full moon’s shine in this particular spot, shining right down onto the well’s center.

You are not an orphan anymore, you are a moon priestess now, Chyronex had told me this when I turned 8. The memory makes me feel passion, because I believed it with all my might.

As I wait for a demonic threat to appear, assuming my female soul will act as a magnet to the entity from hell, I hold myself with patience.

This is the hardest part.

The quiet of the night.

I briefly look down into a puddle from the recent rain gathering at the edge of the well’s stone wall, and I use the still reflection to fix my hair that has come undone from the long braid. I tighten the knot and push my hair over my shoulder.

While staring in at my reflection, I realize I can use this puddle to search for the threat. I look for the birthing pits, the place we all witnessed Chyronex enter without permission from the King or her Venatores.

Right now my wish to see the wolf demon is not so simple.

I don’t see a realm. I see nothing.

Well, I see something, but it’s really nothing. All I see are a set of red blurring lights which flash at me, a very brief flash of hellfire. Then it’s gone.

When I close my eyes to try and hold onto it, the two red lights evolve into a vision.

So it wasn’t nothing.

I hold my breath as I make out the outline of sharp rows of fangs.

I breathe in suddenly and I smell the stinky breath, I feel hellish heat wash over my head in a large exhale and I let out a piercing shriek before the beast grabs my throat and pulls me forward, off the well.

He is here already!

I snap open my eyes to see I have been ambushed.

With my throat in the claws of the giant wolf demon, I am held at his mercy alone. The darkness makes his form appear like a void in the night, aside from his red eyes and white fangs.

Around him, as my eyes scan left and right, I see a pack of them.

An entire pack of standing wolves on hind legs – with men’s torsos.

And their teeth… and their eyes… and their height combined. Fuck!

I’m held back by the wolf man and then shoved aside.

I stumble, roll and stand back up as the demon pack pace around me together, all drooling, growling quietly, watching me as I turn and pull out my poisoned knife from my hidden belt attached to my thigh. It’s short and handmade, it feels useless now. The one who grabbed my throat lets a snarl rip through the air and I drop the knife from pure fright.

I try to lean over to pick it up, but the beast steps forward over the knife, sinking it into the wet mud, his body coming so close to mine, his fur rubs up against my front.

I am too afraid to look up.

So I force myself to try.

The beast is huge, as I look up and up, to meet his crimson red eyes – menacing… and perhaps… a little curious?

Onyx’s POV

What a strange, sweet, adorable little creature she was.

We had just arrived to Earth, to explore the mortal dominant realm, when my pack and I smelled a sweet flower blooming in the shadowy and dense forest.

Picking our way through the foliage, attempting to replace a path, I felt a string tug within me.

I closed my eyes – and I saw her eyes.

She was using water to see me, and I could use that reflection to jump to her. We all could.

So that is exactly what my brothers and I did.

In a lacey nightgown, torn at the thighs, with bare arms, tattooed with witch marks, her long and wild blonde hair, braided, and even her green fae-like eyes… and the tremble in her brows as she saw me in her head. I was entranced.

The little virgin opened the door to me… and she didn’t even know it.

“You seek me,” I tell her, as she stands below me, watching me now with wide eyes, as my pack crowd around, coming closer and closer. Our combined heat washes over her and her cheeks go bright pink in the moonlight.

Closing her eyes, she struggles to say, “…vimen animo infern igno deorsum… deorsum,” she hisses it with naïve determination.

She is trying to banish us back to hell, but to be successful you had to be fearless. Right now she was somewhat… scared. Heheh. What can I say?

I may not be fluent in their language, but I am fluent in magic.

She tries to say the spell again when nothing happened the first time, “vimen… animo infer ig–”

Siste,” stop, I cease her attempt to weave the spell with a demonic snarl, and the bitch opens her eyes, but she can’t look at me.

Instead, she jerks backwards, only for her back to touch the front of my second, Magnos, as he stands behind her.

I have to lift a hand and put my claws on his shoulder, holding him from getting another inch closer. Any closer and we’d probably start to crush her, while just innocently trying to inspect her.

“She smells good enough to eat alive, but virgins are fuckable for their sweet magic, it’s not just in her crushed bones and blood,” I remind Magnos, who tilts his head and sneers a little, but agrees.

To me it was casual language, like the weather is to mortals, but I did not know what specifically upset a mortal woman.

I only fucked demoness’, dead witches, and ghosts.

She was our first live mortal encounter, we were all learning together.

Whatever I have said, has caused the female significant distress.

“NO!” she screams and punches into all of us with ferocity. We all step back, giving her space, but not allowing her to retreat, “You will not take me! I rather die!” she falls to her knees, screaming and crying with strange intensity.

I see the terror pulsing through her.

Shit.

We were in a hunting mood, but we had stopped our pheromones.

I stop thinking about food, and I think about my favorite bitches instead.

“Calm down,” I drawl over her hysterical curled up form, as she is now balled up on the grass, but all I do is lean over and offer her my wrist, “Smell me, bitch.”

The girl stops wailing in distress and stares at my outstretched Lycan wrist.

I simply offer her the antidote to her terror.

She leans forward willingly, and sniffs my fur quickly.

There, easy does it.

I watch as her body relaxes.

Her eyes soften, and she breathes steady once more.

“Good girl,” I use one claw to help brush the loose blonde strands off her cheeks, which had come loose from her braid, “Do not fear us, we are not here to hurt mortal kind…” as my words sink in, she carefully sits up, breathing heavily, but more slowly.

“Your name?” she asks me, specifically, holding her knees to her chest, as I stay at her level, reclining in front of her. I know my demon eyes are intimidating, but hers are just as shocking to me. I did not realize how gentle, timid and fragile mortal souls would be when filled with their temporary life.

“Onyx,” I answer her, “ And your name?”

“Uleya,” she whispers, “In truth I came to… replace you.”

“I felt your desire,” I explain, wondering if I chose the word correctly, her expression of annoyance suggests otherwise, “…I felt you searching for me…” I rephrase it, “Is that better?”

“Why are you up here, my mother is worried sick,” she admits this with a blush, and I replace her soft words and tone are soothing to me, I enjoy it.

“Why? Because we can,” I explain, “…we eat rot… we are here to hunt it down.”

“That doesn’t sound very pleasant, ‘rot’…” she whispers even more timidly, and I don’t know why she is so shy and even more red… but then I see her eyes flicker down and up, along my torso… curiously I had forgot that too.

She was interested in my cock and balls.

Yet a minute ago she had been screaming.

At least the pheromones worked.

“Your intent,” I switch the question back to her, “Why are you out here, little girl?”

“I’m… I was hoping to… kill you,” Uleya admits, “But you have rather human patience – are you half human?”

“Of course,” I show her, grinning.

I look to my brothers and we are already thinking as one.

We shift.

To show her our human skin.

Uleya’s POV

Oh, Moon, forgive me.

The wolf beasts were terrifying, smelled amazing, had huge cocks… were actually kind and curious creatures… and right now?

My senses must deceive me, as the wolf men shift to human form.

For me?

Eight adult men, my age, completely handsome looking, with red eyes, black hair and pale skin like the moon.

Onyx’s beast had been reclining to meet me at my level, but now he reclines as a man, and my hand flies out with strange attraction.

I put my palm to his cheek, in awe of his transformation.

He is the most handsome man I have ever seen.

I think I fall in love, as I lean closer, dressed in my muddy lace gown, I feel his warm human skin, and gaze into his red, hell born eyes.

“What are you?” I whisper, leaning so close to his face, I feel like I am out of control of my own body. I’ve whispered the question over his lips, and he hasn’t moved an inch, although his eyes never leave mine.

“Lycan,” Onyx explains.

I slide my hand from his cheek to his neck, curious if I’ll feel a pulse.

I do, and I take my hand back, placing it in my lap, looking down in embarrassment, “Sorry, I got carried away. This is the most excitement I’ve had in 22 years.”

“Likewise, in my 19 winters,” Onyx drawls.

“Why do you delight me?” I ask the soil, curious of his answer.

“We are curious of you,” Onyx explains.

“Can I tell… all whom I know… that you are friendly?” I ask him, now carefully bringing up my eyes to his again, curious if he will be bored of me.

But no, his staring is still just as intense.

“I am friendly,” Onyx agrees, tentatively, “…unless… you cross me…”

“Friends do not cross each other,” I tell him, still weirdly shy.

“Were you not my enemy?” Onyx teases me now, showing some emotion, he slowly starts to smirk. The line of his lips move with slow precision, I would guess he is as tempting as the devil.

“My apologies, I will not kill you,” I tell him and I also glance around at the other men, who are sitting to listen, or standing around, curious by me.

“I would hope you wouldn’t try, it’d be a shame to slit your throat… Uleya…” Onyx answers me, moving forward to stand, he is also moving closer to me.

As he gets up, his face comes to mine, and as I look up, he looks down at me, bringing his mouth closer… but only hovering it within reach.

I know what he’s doing, but I want it.

I lean up, and I kiss him first.

Onyx places both his palms on my cheeks, holding my face up as he immediately returns the kiss I quickly initiated.

He eats me alive with that kiss, slowly molding his mouth to mine, his tongue slipping into me, tasting me.

I love it, it’s so dangerous, until it’s like my spine forgets how to remain stable. I feel unsteady.

My whole body weakens, and I fall out of his kiss, as Onyx stands, I end up literally lying near his feet, panting, rolling onto my back, gasping for air as heat surges through me.

After Onyx has stood, his pack have also followed him.

Around me, they don’t pay me any attention at all as they shift back into 8ft Lycans.

I lie there in complete euphoria of that kiss, while the Lycans share knowing looks with one another, then they step over me – and just like that – they all disappear into the dark.

And I am left.

Unharmed.

But left hungry… and feeling a little… hot and totally deranged.
