Eager Nanny, Reluctant Wife -
Chapter 34
Chapter 34
When Josephine turned around, she saw the man standing there looking at her.
“What’s wrong?” she questioned in a bit of confusion.
Ragnar looked at her with dark eyes. “Is what the housekeeper just said true? Do you want to get into my bed? Do you want to be Mrs. Levine?”
Josephine was silent for a moment. She hurriedly explained. “Don’t get me wrong, I did say that, but I didn’t mean that, and I do not have any extravagant expectations that I shouldn’t have! I was irritated by her and deliberately wanted to piss her off…”
Ragnar approached. He was standing only one step away from Josephine. He looked down at Josephine with his dark eyes straightly and asked, “Do you
still like Charles?”
“No!” Josephine answered firmly. She told Ragnar, “I would not let myself like a man who is already dirty! I’m not that cheap.”
“Okay.” Ragnar was satisfied with her answer. He looked at Josephine and said, “You are Mrs. Levine already! As for wanting to climb into my bed, you
still can think about it.”
Josephine was stunned, and her eyes widened. She hadn’t thought about it!
Ragnar said, “After all, Grandma is coming soon. Move to my room earlier and sleep with me. So you can get used to it in advance.”
Josephine lowered her head and replied, “Okay.”
It turned out it was just for that sake. She thought this man was inviting her to… After realizing that, she thought, “But thinking about it, how could it be possible?”
She continued to say, “Umm, I’m going to stay with the sweethearts tonight.”
“Okay,” Ragnar responded, as he didn’t want to embarrass Josephine too much. Then he turned around and left, preparing to go back to his room. Just as he arrived at the door, he looked at Josephine again and reminded her, “Grandma will be here in two days.”
Josephine did not say a word.
Apart from taking care of the sweethearts on this night, all she could think about was moving to the same room and sleeping on the same bed with the
man.
Josephine was still troubled by this matter when she went to work the next day.
She asked Liliana, “In your opinion, if a man and a woman who were strangers get married suddenly and then sleep in the same room and bed, how should they get along? They…” She hesitated for a while. Then continued, “I mean, if they don’t have feelings, nothing should happen, right?”
Liliana’s first reaction was, “Josephine, are you going on a blind date and getting a shotgun marriage?”
Josephine shook her head and answered, “No.” She told Liliana, “I was just a little curious out of a sudden.”
“I see.” Liliana said, “Blind dates and shotgun marriages are not necessarily without true love. On the contrary, they may be very happy! In the older generation, which was my grandma’s, the strange man and woman went on blind dates. They didn’t know each other but could live a lifetime together. Although the love at that time was not passionate, the couples could stay for a lifetime, just like my grandma and grandpa. I envy their relationship very
much.”
She continued, “But Josephine, the social pressure now is too great, and the pace of life is too fast! People who have been in love for several years can betray each other. I always feel that it is even more unreliable to go on a blind date and marry someone I don’t know!”
Liliana did not suggest nor object to Josephine going on a blind date.
She also told Josephine, “There’s a blind date spot in Sloummont. If you are interested, I can accompany you there.”
Josephine refused, “No, thanks.”
Chapter 34
After she was off duty, Josephine came over to Yennefer’s house.
As soon as she entered the house, Samantha immediately rushed over in enthusiasm. “Josie, will you leave again after coming back? Let me tell you, it is not as good as home, no matter how good it is outside. I miss you so much when you’re not at home!”
Josephine did not bother to pay attention to Samantha. She just said to Samantha in a distant and polite tone, “I came back to see my aunt! I won’t move back here!” Then she walked straight away.
Josephine came to the door of Yennefer’s room and knocked on the door. “Aunt Yennefer, are you in there?”
Yennefer responded. She came over and opened the door.
Yennefer’s overall condition was very bad. She looked haggard, with messy hair and pajamas. As if she had just cried, her eyes were still red. Because of Josephine’s knock on the door, she seemed to wipe her tears in a hurry.
“Josie, why are you back?”
“I came back to see you, Aunt Yennefer.”
They walked into the room and closed the door.
Josephine looked at Yennefer’s condition and felt sorry for her. “Aunt Yennefer, what happened? I heard your voice was not good when I called you. Did you quarrel with Jonathan again? Or did he hit you again?”
Yennefer shook her head.
Jonathan didn’t hit her this time.
However…
Before she could speak, her tears fell uncontrollably like broken beads.
She didn’t know what to say as she felt embarrassed. “Josie, I think your uncle Jonathan may have an affair with another woman! I found a lipstick mark on his shirt. And he didn’t come back all night last night! He told me that he was on a business trip. But one of our classmates inadvertently mentioned seeing him in Sloummont yesterday…”
Josephine listened to all the words. She thought she might think Yennefer was overthinking if it was in the past.
But when she thought of how Jonathan and Samantha treated her, thinking of Jonathan hitting Yennefer, Josephine didn’t have any good feelings toward Jonathan anymore! In her heart, Jonathan was no longer the former Uncle Jonathan.
“Aunt Yennefer! I mean, if… if Jonathan really has a woman outside, what will you do? Are you going to divorce him?”
Yennefer was stunned. Then she nodded. “Yes.”
She couldn’t forgive such a mistake of principle and morals!
Josephine and Yennefer were talking in the room. Meanwhile, Samantha leaned on the door outside and listened.
Then she crept away, returned to her room, and immediately dialed Jonathan’s number. “Jonathan, your wife made a scene the whole day today. She did not get up to work or cook! Josie came just now. I heard them say you have a woman outside, and your wife also said she wants to divorce you…”
Samantha fipished nagging. Then, she asked Jonathan, “Do you really have another woman?”
Before Jonathan could answer, Samantha continued, “Let me tell you, Jonathan. You’d better have a woman outside! I support that!” Samantha showed
her attitude.
And she told Jonathan, “I told you that Yennefer is infertile! You like her, and it’s okay that you don’t want to divorce her. However, the Zimmerman family’s bloodline could not be stopped. You have to replace a way to give birth to a grandchild for Mom. If you really have a woman outside, take good care of her. You must work hard to get her to have a grandchild for Mom. As for Yennefer… Humph!” Samantha sneered.
