Eight Years Lost A Love Unclaimed (Ariella) -
Chapter 21
BOOK2 Chapter8
He shouted angrily, "Shut up! Didn't I warn you to stop bothering my ex-wife? The real bitch here is you!"
"You know exactly why I called off the engagement!"
Her face flashed with panic.
But she still stubbornly tried to plead with him, though he coldly ignored her.

The court staff, unable to tolerate it any longer, escorted her to the defendant's
seat.
During the court, she denied everything she did that day. Seeing her self-righteous face made my chest burn with anger.
I couldn't believe her audacity.
She claimed the video circulating online was edited.
She said the live-stream was scripted.
She blamed her actions that day on being influenced by her friends.
But no matter how much she tried to weasel out of it, the fingerprints on the mop she used at the school were unmistakably hers.
The chair that shattered my car window also bore traces of her actions.
The surveillance cameras around the school captured every moment she attacked my vehicle, clearly showing her furious expression.
Caroline was sentenced and ordered to compensate both me and the school for

the damages.
Upon hearing the judge's verdict, she exploded in anger.
"It was him who cheated first! He hid his affair with his ex-wife from me. How could I know? So what if I acted out? After we got married, half of what she spent was my money too! Why should I have to pay?" I knew she didn't have the money to pay.
So, I intentionally included emotional damages in the compensation, determined to drain every last drop from her.
Matthew told me they had known each other since she first arrived in this city, and even the house she lived in was bought by him.
He had found her several jobs, but she either complained they were too hard or that her bosses harassed her.
In the end, she relied entirely on him for everything.
And yet, she still had the nerve to turn on him..
I couldn't let this go without getting justice!
After her breakdown, Caroline's eyes flashed with calculation, and she quickly put
on another face.
She pitifully pleaded with Matthew:
"Matthew, we've been together for years. How can one misunderstanding tear us apart? I've given so much during these three years! How can you do this to me? A girl's youth is precious, you know?" "You and your ex-wife are already divorced, which means you're not right for each other. Why won't you give me another chance?"

I was worried that he might soften and let her off the hook.
But instead, he simply laughed coldly.
He sneered, "I made a stop by your hometown during a business trip, intending to bring some gifts to your parents. But what found out... do I really need to say more?"
With those words, I watched as her face turned as pale as a sheet.
Cold sweat dripped down her forehead.
Her eyes slowly filled with despair.
She couldn't muster a single word in response.
As we were leaving the courthouse, she called out to Matthew one last time.
Tears streamed down her cheeks as she choked on her sobs.
"Matthew, are you really going to do this? You once told me I was the love of your life."
There was no emotion in Matthew's eyes as he calmly replied:
"Did I? Then I must have been wrong."
With that, he took me by the hand and led me out of the courthouse.
Outside, a crowd of reporters had already gathered, eager for the latest scoop.
We took a detour into the parking garage.
Once we were in the car, I couldn't help but ask, "What happened in her hometown?"
