Eight Years Lost A Love Unclaimed (Ariella) -
Chapter 42
BOOK4 Chapter3
As I walked out of the inn, Jessica's laughter still echoed behind me. She was
telling
Grace about how Ethan proposed to her. I quickened my pace, as if fleeing from a pursuing ghost.
I found an open space and set up my easel. Just as I picked up the palette, a wave
of
dizziness hit me. I reached into my pocket, took out a pill box, and swallowed the medication. Slowly, the discomfort began to fade.
I've never been a lucky person. I had no parents, no friends, and I'd never even
won a
free soda. I thought Lady Luck had always despised me, until that day.
I finally won the stuffed toy I'd wanted for so long, got a free milk tea, and won a
5,000-yuan cash prize by smashing a golden egg at the supermarket. Even the Coke
bought for Xiao Mei had a "try again" label on it.
Xiao Mei grinned at me, "Lucky charm, I owe it all to you."
I couldn't believe it. How could someone like me, who'd never had any luck,
suddenly
have so much? Then, just as our car was making a turn, it suddenly veered out of

Control. As the wall ahead loomed closer, I screamed in terror.
Bang!
The car crashed through the wall, but surprisingly, the impact was almost
nonexistent. Through the gaps in my fingers, I glimpsed a soft orange light. The light
and the scent of flowers spread out, falling on the man standing in the center, dressed in a suit.
Ethan Harris stood amidst a sea of flowers, dressed in a perfectly tailored suit. Friends and family were all dressed to the nines, even Buddy was sitting beside him
in a dapper little tuxedo.
I stared in shock at the scene before me. Even as Ethan walked over and opened the
door, I still remember the first words he said to me. He said, it's time."
"Sienna,
It was our secret code-it's time to eat, time to go home, time for a kiss, time for us
to marry.
He lifted me out of the car, applause ringing in my ears. Ethan, a man who had faced death so many times, was so nervous he could barely speak.
"Sienna, did you have a good day?"

I was too choked up to answer, so I just kept nodding. He smiled, a mischievous grin,
"Sienna, there's something really important I need you to do for me, something only
you can do."
I looked at him, "What?"
"Be my wife."
"Marry me, and I'll make sure you're this lucky every day."
"And I'm offering a buy-one-get-two deal, maybe even get three!"
It was strange. So many things with Ethan happened naturally, without any buildup
or hesitation. Just like I knew he would marry me, he knew I would only marry
him.
After the proposal, on the way back, he bought a lottery ticket. He told me, "If we win, the thirty million is all yours."
"And if we don't win?" I asked.
He replied, completely serious, "Then it means marrying you used up all my luck."
I couldn't stop laughing and told him, "I always thought I had terrible luck, but it
turns out I was saving it all for meeting you!"
"Exactly! You saved up eighteen years of luck just to meet me. You better treasure book! Clupter)
me."
I leaned over and kissed him, telling him solemnly, "I will."
As the sun set, I greedily drank in the fiery red sky, his words still ringing in my
ears,
but he was no longer there.
By the time I returned to the inn with my sketchbook, the lights outside were already
1. on. As I approached, I noticed a figure standing by the door. The faint red glow of
a
cigarette floated in the air, and the scent of nicotine wafted toward me. I frowned as I
looked at the person in front of me.
When he heard me approaching, he turned his head. For a brief moment, I saw a flicker of panic in his eyes. He quickly extinguished the cigarette and awkwardly scratched the back of his head, just like Ethan used to do whenever I caught him smoking.
I stood still, using every ounce of self-control to ignore him. But as we passed each other, I heard him say,
"Sienna Bennett, I remember you."
