Chapter 7

Lilian tapped her forehead, “You don't get it, kiddo. If we throw punches in the detention. center, It'snot her that's going down it's us. Once she's out of the country, there are a million ways to makeher disappear without a trace.”

Sean nodded in agreement, “Your mom's right. We need to get her out and ship her off abroad.Once she’s out there, who's gonna care what happens to her? There are a hundred ways to makeher demise look like an accident.”

Miranda rolled her eyes and turned to Rachel, “Rachel, how are things with you and Mr. York thesedays?”

Rachel snapped back to reality and replied nonchalantly, “Things are good.”

Miranda curled her lips, “Well, our family is lucky to have someone as even-tempered as you. If itwere Jay getting seduced by that snake Quintessa, I'd be bawling my eyes out, swearing to take herdown.”

Sean scolded, “Miranda, zip it.”

Miranda huffed but fell silent. The youngest of the Young family, Matthew, who had been quiet, drawled, “Are we done here? If so, I'm heading back to my room.

Lilian stroked her son's hair with affection, “Go on, dear. Don't miss your classes

tomorrow.”

Matthew subtly dodged his mother's hand and made his way upstairs.

Back in her room, Rachel was restless. That bitch Quintessa still had dirt on her brother.

Thinking of Quintessa was like having a bone stuck in her throat. The thought of her walking freechurned Rachel's insides with hatred. She couldn't do anything to Quintessa now, but she couldn'tstand doing nothing either.

She glanced at the clock; it wasn't even 11 PM yet. Rachel stepped out. If she couldn't stopQuintessa from getting out, she had to do something — at least make Quintessa repulsive inTyrone's eyes..

She headed straight for Tyrone’s usual haunt — Luxe Haven Club.

The club was Tyrone's own creation, not for profit, but for his personal enjoyment and comfort.Arriving there, she found all the notable young men of Emberbrook gathered, but among this elitecrowd, Tyrone stood out effortlessly. In any gathering, his presence shone the brightest — next tohim, others were mere stars beside the sun and moon.

While the others were busy flirting with their dates, Tyrone was the picture of calm. Two gorgeousgirls were massaging his legs, and no one dared to make a peep.

Rachel watched Tyrone, utterly captivated. Such an extraordinary man, she had to have him, nomatter what. She couldn't let Quintessa touch him again.

She approached and sat down, but Tyrone acted as if she were invisible. As Rachel tried to think ofwhat to say, she blurted out some trivialities before playing the victim.

“Tyrone, you might not believe it, but Quintessa's threatening my brother. She's dragging our familydown with her even though she’s the one who committed a crime. She even turned on her ownfather. I've never seen anyone more vile, more malicious. She's a dent. Today, she might cling to youbecause she needs you, but tomorrow, she could turn on you in a heartbeat. You have to be carefulwith her.”

Suddenly, Tyrone splashed the drink in his hand onto one of the girls massaging his legs andbarked, “Get lost.”

The girls scrambled away as Tyrone stood up and left.

Throughout the entire ordeal, Rachel felt like a clown, and Tyrone hadn't even spared her a glance. Her face burning with humiliation, Rachel was acutely aware of everyone's eyes on her, making herwish she could just disappear.
