Endania -
Epilogue
It took two years before everyone believed that Lord Flame wasn’t going to come back from the dead. Once they did everything settled down. A lot. Eric is doing great as a Commander. Lorna finally learned how to use fire (it’s blue). Ian acts like he’s my father which is nice but also annoying. Not that he cares. Ash and I got married after a year of being together so he’s now the duke and hates it. After a lot of consideration, we made Lorna our second guard. Oh, that reminds me. Lorna and Dominic are actually dating. Yeah, you read that correctly. They’re dating and Lorna keeps telling me they’ll be the next ones to get married.
Ash and I both agree that this is likely because both Mon and Eric refuse to get together even though it’s obvious they like each other. If you tell them that they both deny it. Jack and Kita were let out but only because Alton compelled them to start liking supers. What? It was his idea! All I did was agree to it. So if you want to blame someone blame him! Oh, I haven’t told Lorna yet but if Ash and I die, she’ll become Alpha. I mean if someone kills us since we’re both immortal. However, I don’t think anyone will because everyone likes us. As for me, my days are filled with running Endania (which Ash refuses to help with), dealing with family, and trying to ignore my sibling’s love life. Which, let me tell you, isn’t easy since they come to me for everything.
Right now we were all in the living room talking. “Sylvia,” Lorna said.
I looked at her. “Hmm?”
She held up her left hand. “Look.”
I did and grinned. “About time he proposes.”
“Hey!” Dominic said. “I wanted it to be special.”
Lorna smiled at her fiancee. “And it was special,” she said softly. She met my eyes and I raised an eyebrow. She turned to everyone else. “I have something to tell you all. Something even Dom doesn’t know.”
Ash’s eyebrow went up. “Really? How did you manage to hide whatever it is? He’s good at replaceing things out.”
“Who cares? I just want to know what it is,” Dominic said.
Lorna and I shared a smile. “Wait, Sylvia knows?” Eric said.
“I’m the one who helps her hide it,” I said.
“Traitor,” Dominic muttered.
“Family comes before the guard, Dominic.” I looked at Lorna. “Go ahead.”
“I’m pregnant,” she said.
“What!!!” Everyone yelled.
I laughed. “Calm down, guys.” From their reactions, you’d swear she just told them the house was on fire.
Lorna giggled. “Wow, you were right. Telling everyone at once was fun.”
“B-but how?” Dominic stuttered.
“Surely you already know that?” I said. “I mean they teach you kids are made in school.”
“Says the woman who’s never been,” he shot back.
I shrugged. “I still know about these things.” I smirked. “I know more about a lot of stuff than you.”
“Besides, I’m not the only one who has news tonight,” Lorna said.
“True,” I agreed.
Eric and Mon gave us murderous looks. “You both swore you wouldn’t say anything,” Mon said.
“We changed our minds,” I said calmly.
“Are they finally dating?” Ash asked.
Lorna grinned. “Yup. They have been dating for the last two months.”
“Lorna!” Mon and Eric chorused.
Lorna and I burst into laughter. “Well, then all my kids are in a relationship,” Kita said. Jack nodded in agreement.
Lorna nodded. “One married, one engaged, and another dating.”
“You should put ‘engaged and pregnant’ in that list,” Ian said.
“Ah, true. Both Jack and Kita will both be grandparents,” I said smiling. I still call them by their names because I don’t think of them as my parents.
Kita made a face. “That makes us sound old.”
“You’re older than us,” Eric pointed out.
“They’re older than everyone in this room,” Ash muttered.
Jack snorted. “Actually, that’s not true. Mon is older than Kita and me combined.”
“Good point,” I said. Mon flipped me off.
“You’re right,” Dominic said. “She is two hundred years old.”
“Two hundred and two,” she said primly. “Sylvia has been Alpha for two years and I was two hundred when we met.”
“Has Fire forgiven you yet?” I asked curiously.
She scowled. “No. He should since he just finished making another one.”
“I think it will be a while before he forgives you,” Ian said wisely.
“It’s been a hundred and two years! He should have already forgiven me.”
“Maybe it has to be two hundred years before he forgives you,” I suggested.
“Have I told you I hate you lately?” She growled at me.
I grinned. “Not lately no. But it’s always nice to hear it.”
“You might be the Alpha but I can still kick your ass.”
I rolled my eyes. “And I can banish you.”
She opened her mouth to retort but then snapped it shut. “Damn, you win,” she grumbled.
I beamed. “I know.”
Ash chuckled. “You know, I sometimes wonder who you’re closer to. Mon or Lorna?”
“Both,” I said without hesitaton. “I’m close to them both.”
“We all tell each other everything,” Lorna added.
“But not if it has to do with one of us being pregnant,” Mon said pointedly. “That only calls for sibling help.”
Lorna winced. “Don’t be mad, Mon. I told her because we both live in the same house and it would be easier if she helped me hide it.”
“Is that the only reason?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, then I forgive you.”
I snorted. “Of course you do even though she wasn’t looking for your forgiveness.”
“Don’t start you two,” Ash said sighing.
I scowled. “You can’t end it before it begins, Ash.”
“Why not?”
“Because it takes the fun out of it!”
“I believe that was the point, sis,” Eric said.
I glared. “Who’s side are you on?”
“My own.”
“That’s not even in the options. It’s either mine or Ash’s.”
Eric smiled a little. “Neither.”
“That’s not in the options either!”
“I don’t care.”
I growled but said nothing. I looked at Mon and Lorna. “A little help?”
“Oh, no. I’m not getting involved,” Mon said.
“Me neither,” Lorna agreed.
“You’re both useless,” I muttered but I was smiling when I said it. Everyone started talking to someone else and I looked around at my happy family and sighed. I love my life.
