Chapter 43: Sobering Up
Standing fifteen feet apart, Giselle unexpectedly met Henry's gaze as she glanced upward.
His look was deep, indifferent, and cryptic.
Her sapphire blue silk dress sparkled under the sunset's glow, mirroring the texture of the ocean waves.
Giselle, teetering on her delicate high heels, swayed elegantly towards Henry and brushed against his shoulder, asking tenderly, "Is it over?"
Henry's Adam's apple twitched visibly, his breath hot and seething, his eyelashes fluttering slightly in a show of restraint.
He remained silent, merely nodding with pursed lips, calmly observing her as he anticipated her next move.
"What's next for you?" she asked softly.
As she spoke, the allure of Giselle's thin lips, parting lightly and shimmering faintly in the reflections of the sea and twilight, was palpable, stirring a deep desire.
"Not busy," Henry responded, his eyes brimming with longing, his voice thick and husky.
"Oh..." Giselle tilted her head, feigning thought for a moment before suddenly rising on her toes to plant a quick kiss on his lips.
Perhaps it was an illusion, but Henry felt her lips were sweeter than ever.
As she started to retreat, Henry quickly wrapped his arm around her waist and hoisted her up.
"Tease me and think of running away?" he whispered close to her ear, his warm breath causing involuntary shivers.
Henry stepped back, turning to press Giselle against the railing, trapping her between him and the barrier.
The familiar scent of black cedar, mingled with a hint of the sea, easily evoked certain memories for Giselle, the warmth flooding her senses and sending her heart racing.
The next moment, a fervent kiss descended, its intensity unchecked, hungrily claiming her lips in an eager entanglement.
The kiss was terrifyingly long, and unusually, Giselle reciprocated, her arms wrapping around Henry's neck.
It seemed to spur him on, and his kisses grew even more vigorous.
The waves slapped against the hull as the sky turned completely dark.

Suddenly, the deck lights flicked on.
For Giselle, this was a cue.
She squinted slightly, released Henry's neck, and gently pushed against his chest, her intentions to resist quite clear.
Henry, puzzled, let go of her, "Let's have fun in the room?"
His blunt inquiry made Giselle blush, and she shyly dropped her gaze, shaking her head, "No... it's not that, I have something for you."
She jumped down from his embrace and pointed towards a nearby sofa, "Sit there."
Despite his surging desire, Henry sat down as she directed, showing an unusual patience.
Two glasses of red wine had been placed on the table at some point.
Giselle picked one up and leaned forward to hand it to Henry, "This is the Queen of Parma I've chosen for you; it's already been aired."

The fragrance of the wine wafted over as Henry glanced sideways.
The wine in the crystal glass swirled, held by Giselle's pale, delicate hand.
Thoughtfully, Giselle had encased the glass in dry ice, ensuring a more refreshing taste.
He reached for the glass, his fingertips brushing against her hand, the soft touch nearly overwhelming him as they quickly withdrew from each other.
Henry swallowed hard, gulping down a large swig of the wine to suppress the rising romantic thoughts.
Luckily, the wine was smooth and did not discomfort him despite the hasty consumption.
Giselle straightened and walked to the railing about ten feet away, lifting her skirt slightly with one hand and using her leg to kick off her high heels, standing barefoot. Her thighs were beautifully rounded, her calves sleek and smooth, her feet delicate and petite.
Henry watched, his eyes warming as he took another sip of his wine.
The Queen of Parma was meant for slow savoring, but Henry had no mind for wine tasting; his eyes and thoughts were completely captured by the enchanting figure before him.
