Chapter 133

The hotel was huge and the hallway was long. Besides, both lounges just so happened to be onopposite ends, so there was quite a distance to cover.

Still, Alice was fleet-footed and arrived at the right lounge in no time. As her hand grabbed the doorhandle, she paused for a second before deciding to enter.

Before she pushed the door open, her mind was whirring with possibilities. She knew Charles wasbeing excessively friendly to her today. It also felt that there wasn’t such a thing as coincidences afterexperiencing so many oddities.

When Charles asked her to support him over to the lounge, only Sophia followed them. Elijah andNoah didn’t bother to make a token effort in chiming in. Even Emma, who usually liked to showcase herkindness, had joined them.

Then, when they arrived at the lounge, Charles suddenly became unwell and seemingly left hismedication in another lounge. A coincidence happening once or twice was acceptable, but too many ofthem would never just be mere coincidences.

However, Alice chose to put her trust once more. It was not directed at Charles, but her father, Lucas. She wanted to believe them because of her father’s love for the family since he was Charles’ son.

But her trust in the Wolands was shattered the moment she pushed open the door.

A woman lay on the floor in a puddle of blood with a fruit knife stabbed into her stomach. It was theexact knife she had used to cut the cake in the hall.

Right at that moment, footsteps could be heard approaching and it seemed like a crowd was going herway.

Alice snickered. What a show!

“Alice, you’re here.” Emma’s usually gentle voice could be heard.

Alice didn’t want to entertain her and didn’t even bother to turn around.

“Is Grandpa resting inside? I’m worried, so I came with Mom and Aunt Bethany.” Emma started playingup her ‘kindhearted’ character and continued the show on her own. Then, she went up to the door toenter the room.

Alice just felt that the entire situation was nothing but ironic. How could these people be so shameless?

She didn’t stop Emma and allowed Emma to enter the room.

On the other hand, Emma pushed the door and still called out intentionally, “Grandpa, I’m here to…”

Then, she suddenly paused and a piercing shriek cut through the air the next second. “Ahh! A deadperson. It’s murder!”

Emma’s voice was so loud that Alice felt as though the whole hotel plus people from several statesover could hear her. Still, she had to give Emma credit for such great acting.

Even the deaf could hear her scream, let alone those in the banquet hall as they rushed over.

There were two exits to the hall with one to the left lounge and the other on the right.

Sure enough, a crowd swarmed around them in a matter of minutes.

“What happened?” The crowd couldn’t see the bloody scene in the lounge.

“Ashley. Ashley’s been stabbed and lying on the floor covered in blood.” Emma bit her lips with terrifiedeyes. She was trembling like a leaf and acting with all her might.

“How could that be? Who did this?” Elijah, who followed the crowd over, asked. They truly cooperatedwonderfully for the show.

“I don’t know. When I came over, I saw Alice standing there. I thought Grandpa was in the lounge andwanted to go in. But I pushed the door and saw Ashley lying on the floor.” Emma said tremulously.Nonetheless, her voice might have sounded shaky, it was clear enough for everyone to hear.

Emma’s words hinted that it was Alice who committed the murder.

Irvin frowned as he stood among the crowd. Is that disgusting woman trying to frame Alice again?

Emma even killed someone this time? What the hell is she doing?! Where’s Ethan? I don’t see him.Where is he at such an important time?!

“Don’t panic. Is she dead? Hurry and check for a pulse!” Elijah tried to take control of the situation likethe head of a family should.

Then, he pushed open the door and walked in while the crowd moved forward. After all, it was humannature to gossip.

They saw Ashley lying on the floor with a fruit knife stuck stabbed into her body.

Those who were at the banquet just now recognized that knife because Alice used it to cut the cake.

“She’s still breathing. We have to save her quickly.” Elijah was like a knight in shining armor as hechecked on Ashley and applied pressure on her philtrum.

Finally, he managed to ‘save’ her.

Alice stood to the side and watched the whole ordeal in silence that the whole Woland Family probablyknew of. Well, there was no doubt that they all played a part in this.

This was nothing but a show to harm her.

Ashley, who was ‘saved’, opened her eyes blearily to see Elijah before turning around to look at Alice. Then, she shouted angrily, “Alice wants to kill me. She wants me dead! I was just saying a few wordsfor Miss Emma when she stabbed me in the stomach with the fruit knife!”

Alice truly wanted to start clapping like a seal after hearing such an accusation. This was such anexciting show with a seemingly flawless plot with no loopholes.

She finally understood now why she was brought to the powder room to change her clothes as soon asshe arrived at the hotel. Later, her bag was also taken away by someone when she was cutting thecake.

It was obvious Emma remembered how she took out the surveillance camera at Royale. Emma wasworried that she had a camera on her body, so she made her change her clothes and took away herbag. All the places where she could hide a camera were taken away.

Moving on, that fruit knife that she used to cut the cake at the banquet was sure to have her fingerprintson them.

The footage in the hotel’s security cameras was probably destroyed or doctored. Now that the victimaccused her of murder, she had no way to prove her innocence.

This could be considered attempted murder. If Ashley insisted on suing her, Alice would have to bejailed for a few years.

It was apparent that the Wolands wanted her to rot in prison. That way, they could create someaccidents once she was in there. After all, what they wanted was her life.

This time, Charles was definitely a part of it, or maybe he was the one behind such a masterful plan.

Elijah didn’t have the brains to do so, let alone the other Wolands. Even if Emma was clever, shecouldn’t devise something like this.

So, Charles should be the one behind all of this.

Hah, apparently it was true that the older the fox, the more cunning they were.

“Alice, I know you’re usually rather impulsive and unruly, but I never thought that you would have theguts to kill someone. I can’t stand on your side since you did this. Call the police,” Elijah saidrighteously as if the fact that Alice was family couldn’t stop him from ensuring that justice was served.
