Chapter 578
Chapter 578 Should Not Make You Feel Aggravated Anymore
Jason raised an eyebrow in surprise and thought it wasn’t a bad idea. He responded. “Okay.”
After ending the call, Jason conveyed Marcie’s message to Flora.
Upon hearing it. Flora quickly refused, saying, “No need, really. It would be too much trouble…”
Besides, she wasn’t married yet, so how could she let Marcie take care of her like that?
However, Jason didn’t see any issues with it and continued, “Marcie is eager to help. Besides, Rayprobably drank all night because of you. Are you sure you don’t want to go?”
Flora was speechless upon hearing that.
She knew Ray wouldn’t normally indulge himself like that without any boundaries. It must have beenbecause he was in a bad mood.
So, Flora agreed, “Alright then, please take me there.”
After 40 minutes, Jason and Aletta brought Flora to the White Family’s residence.
Upon seeing the sickly Flora, Marcie asked concernedly, “How did you get so ill? Your face is pale, mygoodness. Do you have any discomfort? Should I call a doctor to come and check on you?”
“No need. Aletta has already checked on me and prescribed medication. I’m fine.”
Flora replied hoarsely, followed by an apologetic tone, “I’m sorry for causing you trouble.”
Marcie immediately patted her arm and reassured her with a smile, “It’s not trouble at all, we’re family!Come on, let me take you to your room so you can rest.”
Wally followed. “I will instruct the kitchen to prepare some refreshing porridge for you. It’ll make you feelbetter.”
They busied separately, leaving Aletta and Jason temporarily on the sidelines.
Aletta observed their caring attitudes and felt relieved.
Thankfully, Marcie and Wally treated Flora very well.
Not only were they concerned for her well-being, but they also harbored no biases or prejudices thatoften accompany wealthy families.
It was truly nice…
If Flora ultimately chose Ray, she would also be reassured.
After settling Flora down, Marcie finally had time to greet Jason and Aletta properly.
She approached Aletta with passion and said, “You must be Aletta, right? Flora and Ray havementioned you so often. I have wanted to meet you for a long time!”
As she spoke, Marcie couldn’t help but look at Aletta and praised her, “Not bad, not bad at all. You looklike a sensible and outstanding girl!
You are so pretty, and your skin is so smooth and tender. You and Jason make a perfect match! Theonly thing is that you’re too thin!
Have you been too focused on work and neglecting proper meals?”
Aletta listened to Marcie’s words and felt warmth.
She smiled and replied, “I was sick recently, so I lost weight. But I’ve been taking care of myself andgaining it back.”
Seeing Aletta’s gentle demeanor and recalling the grievances she had suffered before. Marcie couldn’thelp but soften her tone and said, “Yes, you should take care of yourself. And Jason should alsoreduce his workload and pay more attention. He shouldn’t make you feel aggravated anymore.”
Jason immediately responded, “I am taking care of her, don’t worry.”
Marcie nodded in satisfaction and pulled Aletta to sit on the sofa. “Since you’ve come all this way, stayfor dinner tonight and then leave. I’ll have the kitchen prepare a few more dishes.”
Then, she asked Aletta, “Tell me, what do you like to eat?”
Aletta felt a bit overwhelmed by Marcie’s enthusiastic attitude.
She couldn’t help but glance at Jason.
Seeing Aletta’s helpless look, Jason felt doting and reassured her, “Just tell her what you want to eat,no need to be polite.”
They had watched him grow up, so they were like his parents.
Aletta had no choice but to say to Marcie, “Anything is fine, I’m not picky.”
“Alright then, I’ll take care of the arrangements.”
Marcie got up and went to the kitchen. But not forgetting to instruct Wally, “Go and wake Ray up.”
Wally nodded and immediately went upstairs to wake up Ray.
Ray was asleep when he was suddenly dragged out of bed by Wally. And that left him feelingdisoriented.
He held his head and took a few minutes to regain some clarity. And he couldn’t help but ask, “Whatare you doing?”
Wally frowned and bluntly replied, “What am I doing? It’s already dark outside, and you’ve beensleeping all day! It’s about time you woke up!”
He then urged, “Hurry up, Jason is here. Get downstairs and greet him.”
Ray was headaches by Wally’s urge.
However, upon hearing that Jason had arrived. He reluctantly gathered himself up and muttered,“Alright, I’m getting up. Stop haunting me.”
With that, he went to wash up in a daze. And he waited until he was more awake before goingdownstairs.
When he arrived, Marcie was engaged in a casual conversation with Aletta.
While Jason sat nearby, occasionally chiming in to help answer a question for Aletta.
Ray greeted them and asked, “What brought you here suddenly?”
Aletta looked over.
He was wearing casual clothes, and his hair seemed unkempt and messy. And he appeared tired, clearly not having had enough rest. Combined with excessive drinking, he seemed lethargic, and hiseyes were bloodshot.
All in all, it was evident that he had a hangover.
Jason glanced at him indifferently and casually remarked, “What’s this? Playing the decadent lifestyle?Look at yourself. You look awful!”
Ray couldn’t help but retort, “Where do I look awful? I’m still as handsome as ever!”
“A drunkard like you dares to call yourself handsome?”
Marcie joined in and teased.
Ray felt frustrated.
Not only were they not consoling him, but they were also attacking him personally.
Ray sighed helplessly, “Alright, I’m ugly… Do you have any stomach medicine, Marcie? I’m feeling a bituncomfortable.”
Marcie frowned and scolded him, “Since you will be feeling.
uncomfortable, why did you drink so much? Why not drink yourself to death?”
Despite her words, she still got up and fetched the medicine kit to replace medication for Ray.
After he took the medicine, he casually leaned to the side, looking drowsy.
At that moment, the butler came over to remind them, “Madam, dinner is ready.”
The group then moved to the dining room.
After Ray took his seat, he picked up his utensil and was about to start eating when he was suddenlykicked by someone.
He turned his head and looked at the “culprit.”
“What’s the matter now, Marcie?”
Marcie looked at the unreliable Ray with a speechless expression and said. “Forget about eating. Goserve the porridge first!”
Ray was full of confusion. “Serve porridge? Who am I serving it to?”
“Who else? Of course, is serving the porridge to Flora!”
Marcie ordered mercilessly. “She’s sick and resting in the guest rooms upstairs. Now go wake her up,make sure she finishes eating, and keep an eye on her taking her medicine.”
Ray froze on the spot, his expression as if someone had pressed the pause button.
After a while, he finally processed the information and confirmed, “Flora… is sick?”
