Experimentation
Chapter 19

“Drip, drop, around the clock. All the walls sing loudly. I am here in my bed, singing out to morning!” Laughter leaves my mouth, not being contained by the muzzle on me. I like my muzzle, I call it Pablo. Pablo is supposed to keep me quiet but he likes it when I sing, we like to summon the laughing shadows. The shadows are bobbling throughout the room, spinning, winning through the waves. The world dances around the sun noting all the things it is sung. I can feel the melody, I can hear the walls singing. The world is alive with sound, nothing is breaking us now. Nothing is breaking me now.

“I told you to give her something to help ease her mind, not make her have the mentality of a 9-year-old. When is this going to leave her system.” A wonky voice starts to ring in my ears, this is the bad man. I don’t like him, he hurts me. “It should be out by tomorrow, I’ll do some research on other types of medications, maybe we might just need some simple anti-depressants.” I feel my body jump at the sound of a loud bang. “How dare you question my decisions?” The bad man says eerily calm to the nice lady, eerily is a weird word. How do I know it? Maybe my mommy taught me. “I’m sorry Dr. Edwin, I won’t do it again. If you’d excuse me, I’m going to get Irisa on an IV.” Shoes begin to shuffle out of the room, it sounds like toy cars on my little brother’s tracks. I miss him, I don’t want to be bad anymore. I don’t want to be sick anymore, I want to go home.
