Chapter 59
With a heavy heart I had to sit on the chair to get ready when the makeup artist arrived. They took around 1 hour to make me ready. Clara stayed by my side all the time. She was worried for me while I was completely blank about what to do and what the future holds for me.
Ma’am, we are done. You can have a look at yourself” one of the attendees said.
My eyes flicked up at the mirror. No doubt that have done a wonderful job with the makeup and hairdo but still it isn’t looking perfect because my smile is missing.
I couldn’t move my lips even for a fake smile. The pain was quite visible through my
eyes.
Clara squeezed my shoulder understanding my discomfort and anxiety. The sound of the door opening grabbed my attention and my heart sank in the pit of my stomach when I saw Nathaniel standing on the entrance with a wide grin spread on his lips. His eyes flicked to the girls surrounding me.
“I want a few minutes of privacy with my wife to be” he ordered
The attendees immediately collected their stuff and left the room. Nathaniel’s gaze bore into Clara. Her head turned to me, I literally wanted her to stay with me but I knew that the devil standing right in front of us would torture her if she didn’t do as he said.
With a heavy sigh, she walked ahead and left me alone.
My heart rose to my throat with every step that Nathaniel took towards me. My body froze at my place and my breath hitched in my throat when he stood at a hand distance from me.
The tuxedo that he was wearing fitted him perfectly. Any girl could easily fall for his looks and charm until and unless he show his real face.
His hand reached out to caress my cheek, and I instinctively recoiled, unable to meet his gaze.
“You look stunning, Vanessa,” he murmured, but his words offered no comfort as I averted my eyes, bracing myself for what was to come.
Suddenly I felt his lips against my forehead which made me want to puke. I couldn’t stop my hand from moving up and wiping the skin where he kissed me.
Chapter 39
My eyes flicked up at him when his hold tightened on my arm. The softness which his eyes held were long gone, all I could see now was pure rage.
“Remember that one kick in your belly is enough to end one life!” His words were filled with malice and threat.
“I hate you,” I spat out, unable to contain my loathing.
He chuckled darkly, his demeanor unsettling.
“Hate me or love me, you are going to be mine” he winked “really soon”
His hands moved down to wrap around my waist and pull me closer to his chest.
“You are looking so tempting that I just can’t wait to ripe this gown off your body and have you the way I want” he said, his breath fanning my face while my eyes giving deathly stares but he wasn’t effected by anything.
“I will never surrender to you willingly,” I declared defiantly, though I knew my words. would likely fall on deaf ears.
His chuckle sent shivers down my spine, the sound dripping with sinister amusement.
“You will do whatever fucking I want you to do and whenever I want you
I want you to do and you would have to learn it, one way or another. He squeezed my waist making me yelp in pain.
Leaning in, he pressed another unwelcome kiss to my forehead, waiting for a reaction. that never came. Undeterred, he moved lower, planting a kiss on the tip of my nose, hist actions a cruel mockery of affection.
Before I could recoil, he seized my skull from behind, immobilizing me, his intent clear as his eyes fixated on my lips. His tongue darted out to moisten his own lips, anticipating gleaming in his gaze.
“Just a few minutes more” he mumbled which felt like a reminder to himself.
Placing a kiss on my chin he pulled back. Standing by my side he hooked his arm with mine, guiding me to walk ahead. I released a breath as his closeness was suffocating
- me.
As I stepped down with him, I felt like I was moving towards my death. Clara held sympathy for me. His men who were surrounding Clara, looked up at me. Their eyes holding not so good intentions. Nathaniel gave them a look which was enough for them to look away and mind their own business.
Chapter 59
My eyes flicked to the table in the middle of the hall. A cake was placed over it, beside which there were papers of marriage. A shiver ran down my spine as I saw them. The lawyer was also ready with the pen.
Nathaniel tighten his hold around my waist, encaging me in his arms.
My heart pounded in my chest as we stepped towards the table. My gaze once again flicked to Clara as I stood beside Nathaniel. Her eyes held as much helplessness as mine.
The only person who was looking most excited was Nathaniel. Every inch of his body was bursting with energy. He just wanted for us to get married as soon as possible, cut the cake, have couple dance and do as he wish with me while I am dying from inside.
The lawyer opened the file for us and gave the pen to Nathaniel. With a wide grin on his face he signed the marriage papers. His men clapped and hooted for him.
Nathaniel then gave the pen to me. My eyes flicked up to him, my hands unable to reach out for the pen. It seems like the toughest task for me.
“This wedding or your baby and Clara!” His words reached my ears clear and crisp.
My fingers were shaking badly when I held the pen in between them. He pushed the papers towards me and lifted my hand up to the table.
A lone tear escaped my eyes without my constent and dropped at the place where I was supposed to sign.
“Be quick, Vanessa!” He nudged me.
Sighing heavily and closing my eyes, I wrote V when suddenly I heard a loud bang of gunshot which was followed by Clara’s scream. It startled me. The pen slipped from my hand and I looked up to lind the color of Nathaniel’s face draining.
My head snapped in the direction of Clara, and I saw a men lying at her feet, in the pool of his own blood.
My breath hitched in my throat when the shooter turned his gun and targeted me.
