Kevin couldn’t help cursing. “Who the hell is it? How dare you…”

“Fuck you, I’m Carlos Lawson”

Without any patience, Carlos introduced himself. His aura was completely released, completely crushing everyone present.

That was the dangerous aura of a long–term superior, something no one could compare to.

When Kevin heard that curse, he was scared out of his wits. He didn’t expect the legendary head of the Lawson family to be like that….

Kevin immediately gave in. Knowing Carlos came for Meggie, he quickly turned around and bid his farewell.

As soon as he left, the scene fell silent, so quiet that the left ones could hear each other’s breathing.

Meggie paled but still tried to stay calm. Though an actress for years, she failed to steady her nerves.

At that moment, Carlos was simply too terrifying, like a mad beast that could shred her any minute.

She still had the nerve to ask? Carlos lost control.

He reached out to clutch her wrist, exerting force.

Meggie was really hurting so she groaned out loud.

“Carlos, what are you doing? You’re hurting me!”

“You know? I thought you don’t know how it hurts! What on earth did you say to Edith to make her cry?” Carlos questioned coldly, his voice dripping hostility.

His tone felt ice cold, sending a chill down people’s spines.

She couldn’t help but shiver from the bottom of her heart.

It felt… as terrifying as Death himself!

Before she could react, the man had lost all his patience.

He lowered his voice even more and growled grumpily. “I’m asking you, what did you say to her? Answer me-”

The last two words sounded like a roar.

His anger was raging.

Meggie was completely overwhelmed because she hadn’t seen Carlos lose his cool in such a long time.

Five years ago… He only acted like that five years ago.

Ever since what had happened back then, Carlos turned into an iceberg no one could melt.

However, then, he was livid again because of another woman.

Everyone knew Meggie to have grown up with Carlos in the Lawson family. All the servants respected her and even Rubby Lawson doted on her.

He actually said that she was worse than Edith!

Meggie stomped her feet in tears of anger as she watched him leave.

She could never watch her beloved man be bewitched by some woman.

A married woman wanted to steal her lover? What nonsense!

Carlos raced back to the villa, only to see Susan greet him in a hurry, asking, “Mr. Lawson, what’s with Mrs. Lawson? She locked herself in the room crying all the time. Did… something happen?”

“I’ll fix this.” He stormed upstairs.

He knocked on her door, but no one answered. He tried to open the door with a key but failed. Something heavy seemed to be blocking the door.

That girl had put in a lot of effort to avoid seeing him.

He pounded on the door. “Edith White, come out!”

“I don’t want to talk to you, you big liar! Lying through your teeth…”

Edith wrapped herself in the quilt, feeling devastated.

Why did she learn the news when her heart started to flutter again?

No wonder he disappeared for a day that day. He left for another woman. Did he happen to know that leaving her alone in a strange place made her scared?

Carlos squinted and agreed that he could only wait until Edith became patient again..

He responded in a deep voice and then stared deeply at the shut door. “Find a guy to tear down the door. I shall see what else she can use to block me again!”

After that, he turned around and left without any hesitation.

He was never an indecisive person.

Susan also slightly trembled.

It had been a long time since Mr. Lawson had been so emotional. Was that a blessing or disaster?

What happened back then wouldn’t repeat itself, would it? If so, then Mr. Lawson would suffer too much. Moreover, wouldn’t it mean that Mrs. Lawson… would also see a hard time coming?
