Fall For “My Husband’s Uncle” By Janet Macadam -
Chapter 162
Chapter 162
It sounded more like an order than a piece of advice.
Carlos spoke in a determined voice.
He had said that before.
Every time Edith heard it, her heart would beat violently for a long time.
As she had heard this many times, her attitude changed from initial questioning to recognition.
This time, she was silent for a moment. Finally, she nodded and said softly, “I see.”
Hearing this, Carlos was a little surprised. This time, she gave him a response and nodded in agreement.
Being ecstatic, he held her tightly in his arms and greedily breathed in the faint fragrance of her body.
Feeling the heat from his body, Edith giggled as well.

“But here are the conditions. First, the relationship between Simon and me must be broken in case others gossip that I hooked
with my husband’s uncle. Also, I know that you have a lot of admirers. It will be very troublesome for me to deal with it. myself, so I hope you can state your position to clear these troubles. Finally, since you want to marry me, you must tolerate my shortcomings and temper. You have to dote on me and love me. You don’t have a chance to regret it in the future, and you can’t joke about my family background.”
“Don’t worry. That’s easy. I’ll deal with them. I’ll never bring you such rumors and make trouble for you,” Carlos said seriously.
He wouldn’t be a suitable husband if he couldn’t guarantee these issues.
Emma told her about the company’s affairs.
It turned out that an old company employee had manipulated the computer when the power was cut off, and the circuit was back to normal, but the monitor didn’t work.
The reason the employee did that was simple. He looked down on people who assumed important positions by relying on their connections, especially women who relied on male colleagues to get ahead.
This employee had been fired. Once this matter was exposed, his future would be ruined.
When Edith heard this, she sighed.
She believed she had never offended anyone in the company, but she had been admitted to Simpledux due to Sarah. And because of Carlos, there were rumors about her, and Mr. Britton added fuel to the fire,
She felt as if she were in an abyss of misery.
Now that she had left the company, she breathed a sigh of relief.
It was said that an innocent woman would get into trouble because of myriad love.
That was probably the case.
Edith did not stay at Carlos‘ place for too long. The next day, she returned home.
Seeing that she had lost weight in the past few days, Susan quickly cooked a lot of delicious food.
Edith began to work hard to replace jobs and submit resumes, but it was confusing that every resume got no response.
She couldn’t help feeling confused. By all accounts, she should be a desirable candidate for several companies, based on her experience.
Someone must have done something behind her back.
Sam called over all the people in charge of the companies Edith had submitted resumes and warned them that they would

witness Carlos‘ anger if they dared to reply.
They were all terrified. They did not understand what kind of big hatred there was between this proposal and Mr. Carlos so she could not replace a job in Caurtine.
Carlos had his own plans.
Edith went to a recruitment fair. As soon as she handed her resume to the person in charge, he glanced at it and quickly threw
it into the trash can.
Her resume was like a hot potato that should be thrown away early.
She felt so wronged. She had studied hard for so long but couldn’t replace a job.
It was a mystery how Daniel found out about her current situation, and he took the initiative to invite her to meet him in the cafe.
Edith knew Daniel’s intentions, but he invited her as an upperclassman, so it was impolite for her not to go.
The coffee shop was very private. Each booth was enclosed to ensure the privacy of the customers.
Daniel remembered that she didn’t like coffee, so he ordered juice instead.
She took a sip of the ice–cold orange juice, feeling satisfied.
It was wonderful to sip an iced drink in the hot summer!
“Have you found a job?”
“Not yet. I’m wondering if the news of Simpledux has spread. It seems that no one wants to hire me.”
“I don’t think so. I’ve asked several colleagues. They didn’t refuse you for this reason. I’m not clear about the real reason, either.”
“Maybe it’s because I’m not capable enough. There are still some small workshops. I’ll try them later.”
She said in dismay.
She wanted to realize her ambitions, but unfortunately…
Daniel felt very sorry for her when he saw her frown.
He raised his hand and rubbed her eyebrows to smooth out the wrinkles.
She was stunned and forgot to dodge. She stared blankly at Daniel in front of her.
With morning sunshine shining on his handsome face, it looked like a painting.
He was like a handsome young man in a painting whose every frown and smile could attract people’s hearts.
Then he said warmly, “How can you be so sentimental at such a young age? Don’t frown. You’ll get wrinkles.”
When Edith heard this, she felt a little strange. She always thought that the action was too intimate.
If it were Carlos who had done this to her, she would not be surprised because he had done it so many times, whether she was willing or not.
But Daniel…
He had always been gentle and friendly to everyone but was quite reserved at times also.
She was unused to it and subconsciously shrank back to avoid his hand.
The smile on Daniel’s face froze slightly but quickly returned to normal.
He withdrew his hand and said lightly, “Why don’t you come to help me? A branch at my company has just opened up. I need your help.”
“No, I’ve caused so much trouble by going to Simpledux. If I go to your company again, I’ll get a reputation!”
Chapter 162
“You can start as an assistant designer. Isn’t that fine?”
“That’s not okay. Now, I finally understand the absurdity of rumors. I have heard too much gossip, so… I’d better not go to your company.”
She forced a smile. Although she could say these words lightly, she still felt upset.
Everything in Simpledux made her feel aggrieved when she first entered the workplace.
Daniel knew that her self–esteem wouldn’t allow her to take it, so he didn’t dare to force her for fear of hurting her.
“It seems that you’re not interested.”
“When I’m better off, you can hire me at a high price!”
She said with a smile.
Daniel had no choice but to nod and agree. “It seems that this is the only way. You’re a good girl but a little stubborn. If you were a little more tactful like Sarah and knew how to cover it up, you wouldn’t have caused so much trouble. I think that it’s all because of Carlos. That’s why you’re in a dilemma and get into trouble. You should stay away from him.”
