Fall For “My Husband’s Uncle” By Janet Macadam -
Chapter 39
Chapter 39
Hearing this, Edith opened her eyes. She saw Carlos standing there with a vicious look on his face. His sharp eyes were fixed on someone else without any trace of emotion.
Carlos released a terrifying aura, which made people feel a little scared.
Damon was also a smart person and had seen countless people. Naturally, he could tell that Carlos was not a simple person.
Damon felt that he didn’t have to make trouble here for a woman.
He hurriedly smiled and said, “Is she your woman? Haha, I’m just playing with her. Don’t mind. I’ll go out now. You… you can do whatever you want.”
Damon managed to pull back his hand and then turned to leave, but he was stopped by Sam..
“Mr. Lawson?”
“Cripple him.” Carlos‘ cold voice sounded ruthless and angry.
Carlos withdrew his gaze as if looking at Damon would dirty his eyes.
Sam took Damon away.
Damon struggled and roared, but it was to no avail.
Edith’s eyes widened as she looked at Carlos in horror.
This was power. The Lawson family had absolute authority in Caurtine.
Edith thought, “Should I ask this terrifying person for help? Will I die miserably if I’m not careful?”
Carlos met Edith’s gaze, her big clear eyes revealing fear as if he were a monster.
Carlos frowned unhappily. He didn’t like Edith looking at him like that.
“Aren’t you going back? Do you need me to carry you?”
Carlos said coldly.
Edith came to her senses and quickly waved her hand. “I… I’m not feeling well. I’ll go back first.”
She was like a frightened rabbit, trying to escape from this place, but Carlos grabbed her wrist and took her back to the private room.
Edith complained in her heart and refused to go in no matter what. She pleaded at the door, “Mr. Lawson, I’m really not feeling well. Can you let me go?”
“Mr. Lawson?”
This form of address sounded alienated. Their relationship seemed to have become even more distant.
“Eh?” Edith was stunned, thinking, “Should I not call him that? Why do I feel like his expression is even angrier ?”
“Why don’t you call me Uncle Carlos?” Carlos asked.
“Uh… You… don’t like it, do you?” Edith asked cautiously.
Carlos said without thinking, and he was slightly surprised by himself.
Hearing this, Edith didn’t notice anything wrong. He thought, “Since he likes it, I’ll call him that. Anyway, he’s my uncle–in–law. I didn’t cross the line.”
“Yes.”

Chapter 39
“Uncle Carlos… Can you let me go?” Edith asked carefully, looking like a frightened rabbit.
“No.” As he thought of the scene in the morning. Carlos‘ eyes became cold. He clasped Edith’s wrist tightly and said in an icy voice. “Since you chose to curry favor with me, you should be loyal to me. You shouldn’t flirt with anyone else. You can tell me what you want. You don’t need to play hard to get. You don’t have the right to do so.”
“What do you mean by that? Play hard to get? Curry favor?” Edith didn’t understand.
Hearing this, Carlos curved his lips into a cold and playful smile. Edith’s heart trembled.
Carlos narrowed his attractive eyes and opened his sexy lips. “Didn’t you come here several times to please me and get some benefits? Just tell me what you want I like equal exchanges. I’m a businessman, and I can’t suffer any losses. Take a good look at yourself. What can you give me?”
As she heard this, Edith’s heart skipped a beat. She did not expect Carlos to be so smart as to see through her intentions so quickly.
