Fall For “My Husband’s Uncle” By Janet Macadam -
Chapter 41
Chapter 41
In the past few days, as long as Johann was not busy with work, he would come to Edith and take the time to have afternoon tea or dinner with her.
Johann really worked hard to fight for their happiness. At first, he didn’t want to inherit the family business, but now he began to be familiar with the business. Occasionally, Johann would take Edith to see clients, and he readily admitted that she was his fiancée..
Every time Edith was with Johann, she almost forgot that she was married.
She was very happy with Johann, but at the same time, Edith was very scared. She was afraid that Simon would suddenly come to her and accuse her. However, when time passed peacefully, Simon was still indifferent. Edith hoped that she could get out of this misery as soon as possible.
When Edith got off work in the evening. Johann said that he couldn’t have dinner with her because he would meet clients. He asked Edith to take a taxi back by herself and not to worry about the fare. He would pay it later.
Looking at the text messages, Edith could tell that Johann loved her. She felt warm.
She firmly believed that they would be able to live happily together.
Edith’s phone rang when she got home. Johann sent a picture to her.
In the picture, there were two hands intertwined in a hotel room. Edith recognized them at a glance. One hand was Johann’s.
The other was Vanessa’s. The swan–shaped ring on Vanessa’s pinkie was her 18th birthday gift from Edith.
Edith thought, “Why… why are they together?”
At that moment, she felt as if she had been struck by lightning. Her phone fell to the ground with a bang.
Edith immediately came to her senses and picked it up nervously, only to replace that another photo was sent over.
It was a photo of a bed and clothes of a man and a woman on the floor.
Edith’s heart ached badly, and she immediately took a taxi there.
She found the hotel in the photo, but Johann was a VIP customer. Edith couldn’t go to his room without his approval.
The attendant kept dialing the landline number of Johann’s room, but the line was always busy.
Edith waited anxiously in the lobby downstairs, feeling uneasy. When she thought of what Johann and Vanessa had done upstairs, Edith felt indescribably disgusted.
She didn’t know if Johann was willing or not, and she didn’t know what tricks Vanessa had played. Edith deeply understood that Vanessa was provoking her. Vanessa just wanted to see Edith in such a miserable state, but Edith couldn’t care about it.
How could Edith calm down when the man she loved was sleeping with her cousin?
Edith waited until past midnight. The cold wind kept blowing in. She shivered, but she didn’t leave.
This night was destined to be difficult.
The next day Edith finally waited for Johann and Vanessa to come down. Johann’s face was pale, and Vanessa was sobbing behind him.
The moment Johann saw Edith, he froze on the spot and widened his eyes in horror. “Edith?”
Edith’s eyes were red as she saw the hickeys on Vanessa’s neck, which hurt Edith so much.
They had indeed made love.
Edith didn’t know what else she could do at the moment. She waited all night to see this result. Edith had thought about how to comfort herself, but
