Chapter 73

There was an old lady introducing a potential partner to Briana. She asked Briana to friend the person on Line. Unable to resist the

enthusiasm, Briana took out her phone and was about to scan the QR code, while thinking about explaining the situation to the person after adding them.

Suddenly, a slender hand stretched out from above and snatched the phone from her hand.

Briana turned around in surprise and saw Maxim, unable to help but furrow her brows.

“Give me back my phone.’

Maxim looked at her with indifference and directly put the phone into his pocket.

“It’s not safe to leave it with you, I’ll keep it for you.”

The other old ladies who were present had no idea that Maxim and Briana were married. They looked at Norma with confusion and asked, “Norma, what’s going on?”

Norma was about to explain when Maxim spoke lightly, “Ladies, I’m sorry to inform you that Briana is already married. I am her husband. My grandmother just said that to provoke me, hoping you wouldn’t mind.”

Maxim’s words were like dropping a depth charge into the calm sea, instantly drawing everyone’s attention to Norma’s face.

“Norma, is this true?! Why didn’t you tell us before? You kept it

hidden so well!”

“I can’t believe it, we used to guess that Maxim would be the last one to get married, but it turns out he is the first among all of us grandchildren to get married!”

“Norma, you have gone too far. It’s clearly your own daughter-in-law, but you lied to us and said she was your granddaughter! No, you must treat us to a meal, otherwise this matter won’t be so easily forgotten!”

Seeing everyone’s attention shift to Norma, Maxim immediately pulled Briana away.

Maxim didn’t let go of Briana’s hand until they left the area where it was scorching hot and walked into the quiet little grove next to it.

“Are you stupid?! Grandma just asked someone to introduce a potential partner to you earlier, and you didn’t know how to refuse?!”

Briana looked at him calmly and asked, “Why did you refuse?”

Maxim’s face turned pale, he gritted his teeth and looked at her, saying, “Briana, don’t forget that we haven’t divorced yet!”

Briana nodded, “I know, so I’m just planning to get to know the other person now, I don’t intend to do anything.”

“You!”

Maxim saw anger in his eyes, Briana reached out her hand and said, “Can you give me back my phone, please?”

I had planned to come over and have a good barbecue, but now it has been ruined by Maxim again. It seems that wherever he is, there is never anything good happening.

Maxim held her hand and said, “Stay with me for a while, and I will give you back your phone.”

Briana frowned and abruptly pulled her hand out, coldly saying, “I gave you the phone!”

Worst case scenario, she bought another one and had to spend time alone with Maxim, which she couldn’t bear for a moment.

Seeing her turning around to leave, Maxim hugged her from behind and whispered, “Briana, I misunderstood you today, I’m sorry.”

Briana’s body stiffened for a moment, then she turned around and pushed Maxim away, taking a few steps back and looking at him with a cold expression. “You don’t need to apologize to me. If you truly felt sorry, you wouldn’t have let Kiley stay by your side unharmed after watching the surveillance footage.”

Maxim’s face changed, “I will definitely not let Kiley hurt you again in the future.”

Briana suddenly laughed, with no warmth in her eyes. “Since you chose to protect Kiley, don’t apologize to me. I won’t spare Kiley just because of these three words from you.”

“What did you want to do to Kiley?!”
