Chapter 108

Cora's POV

Collin is right there, down on one knee, holding up the most beautiful ring I have ever seen in his upheld hand. Collin had a microphone in his hand and the music had shut off right before Mateo turned me around, but everything happened so fast I didn't realize the music had stopped before I saw Collin. Collin then spoke into the microphone, "Cora, I love you so very much. Please, do me the honor of becoming my wife".

There is no sound at all from anyone as everyone waits for my answer and they don't have to wait long. "Yes! Yes, Collin, I would love to marry you", I told him, and jumped into his arms when he stood up to give me an enthusiastic kiss. The guests erupt with cheering and screams of excitement as Collin places the ring onto my finger. The cheering and clapping get louder as everyone rushes up to us on the runway to congratulate us and I see my mom and Marlowe hold the babies smiling at me from their seats. I cannot believe that Collin planned all this and now I know that everyone was in on it. I look up at him and he captures my chin in his hand and tilts my face up a little more and gives me a heated kiss. When I reopen my eyes, he has dipped me back and there are a lot of pictures being taken of us from both the photographers and the guests. I blushed and was thankful for the makeup that covered the blush up for me. Collin lifts my hand up in the air to show off the new ring sitting on my finger, and everyone cheers louder for us. As everyone here had seen the "fashion show fiasco", they already knew that we had gotten together after he and Maddie broke up, that everything she said was incorrect, and how she had blackmailed him into being with her. We kept the blackmail events quiet for the sake of business and used the "it is going to trial, so we can't speak about it" route like Nicolas told us to do. I cannot stop smiling and I am so happy that Collin wanted to marry me. Collin and I waved at everyone as we all turned and walked off the runway together to the back. Iris, Livi, Ella, and Ava are all super excited and hopping up and down as Eric, Mateo, and Franco all congratulate Collin on our engagement.

"I will of course design your dress, Cora. I usually don't make wedding dresses, but I will make an allowance for you and a few others", Mateo said as he looked past me at Ava, Livi, and Iris and winked at them. I am so excited, and I don't even know where to start with the plans. I get changed into my leggings and t-shirt and just clean my face off and leave my hair alone, as everyone already knows who I am now. We headed out to the show floor and saw my parents and his parents stand and speak with Dalton and Nicolas. We headed over and I kissed my babies. I fed them an hour before the show, but they will need to be fed again soon. Mom and Marlowe give me a hug and congratulate me, as Collin shakes hands with our fathers, Nicolas, and Dalton.

"I don't even know where to start by planning a wedding," I told them.

"Don't worry honey, I will help you and I have already called around a few venues. I just need you and Collin to give me a date and we will start getting this planned right now", Marlowe told me.

"Thank you so much, Marlowe! I appreciate the help", I told her. Mom and dad are very happy about this and can't stop smiling.

I looked at Collin and asked him, "When do you want to get married?"

"As soon as possible, Cora. I have wanted you to be my wife since last September when we got together. So, I am ready to get married right now" Collin tells me.

"Ok, how about the third weekend of September," I say to him and then smiled up at him. That was when we had officially gotten together, and it gave us almost 2 months to get this planned out. "Perfect", Collin tells me and leans down and kisses me thoroughly again.

Alderidge clears his throat and says, "Plenty of time for that later, we need to pick a place to eat, and the babies will be hungry soon. I know I am, and that way, while we wait for the food, the babies can be fed and changed and their mothers will be able to start planning the wedding. I already see the wheels on your mother's head-turning, son. This is the first wedding for any of our children so I know that she is excited, but I can see two more coming very soon in our future". "Two more what?" Ava said as she came up to the group.

"Weddings," I told her and watched the blush come across her face.

"Hopefully, yes," Ava tells us, and her mom and dad give her a hug from either side. They smile widely as they both really like Jacob too. I know it is just a matter of time before he asks her, they are so sweet together.

Lunch went by quickly and they had asked for a private room off to the side so I could nurse. I sat with my back to everyone, and Colin at my side helped me by holding Adam steady for me while they nursed. It is easier with the pillow to nurse them, and they are both getting bigger, so it is hard for me to hold them secure, especially without my nursing pillow, which I love. Marlowe had already got a small notebook in her purse, so I knew she knew before me too now. I am happy that Collin obviously put some planning into this to make it work.

"When did you plan this, Collin?" I asked him.

"The proposal?" Collin asked me, and I nodded. He continued, "At the hospital when you gave birth when we left the room for you to nurse, I asked Mateo if it would be OK for me to do it on the runway. He thought that would be wonderful, especially since the incident at the last one. It would straighten everything out and let everyone know that you were the love of my life, and who I wanted to marry. Do you remember you told me not to claim you unless I was ready to let the whole world know? Well, I am sure the videos of my proposal are now making the rounds too. I was on my knee behind you for a full minute, so everyone would have time to get a recording. I want this video to go more viral than the last one".

"Me too," I told him and leaned over to kiss him. I am so content. Our mothers are both bent over looking at the notebook and making plans, our fathers are sitting on each side of their wives holding the babies, making noises at the babies. This is absolutely perfect, and I am beyond happy. Collin is right, I did want him to claim me like that, for all to see that he finally sees me, loves me, and wants only me.

I don't really have a lot of input, I just want a cake that tastes good, and with strawberry filling. Collin said I could choose whatever I wanted and that he was paying for the wedding. My parents tried to balk with him, as they had been saving up for my wedding and had $20,000 plus in that account for the wedding, but Collin told them that they could keep it, or put it in the children's college fund if they wanted to. I had started it and split the money I had gotten as a bonus from Gabriel and put $30,000 in each of their accounts. I have also started another savings account where I am putting a thousand dollars in a month, as I know that we will have at least another child in our future. The babies are precious, and I love them so much. They are good, and already sleeping through the night.

I met up with Mateo after work the following Friday. Collin picked me up and took me there. We had dropped the kids off with my parents after I fed them, so we would have a little more time to get my dress designed. Iris and Dalton, Livi and Nicolas, Ava and Jacob, and Ella and the baby were already there waiting for Collin and me to arrive. The men all moved over to another area because Collin didn't want to see my dress until I was coming down the aisle in it, leaving Mateo behind with us. Most girls have dreamed about a "fairy-tail dress" that they will get married in, and their knight in shining armor who rides up to rescue them. Collin may not have started out as a knight, he was more like a "not" at the start, but he had redeemed himself. He helps me every day with the babies and has completely changed his schedule. I have helped him out where I could, but we have gotten it down to us working from 8 to 5 daily, and Collin using the home office for 2 to 3 hours after we get the babies up on Saturdays to make sure he keeps up with everything. He dotes on both me and the babies, and I really never thought it was possible that he could be this good of a partner. Maybe all those miserable months with Maddie helped me out in the end, showing him that what he thought he valued, had no real value at all.

Mateo asked me a few questions about what I wanted in my dress. I told him that I would actually like a strapless gown with a lace overlay at the top, with a boatneck. I would like to have buttons going down the back of it to my waist, long lace sleeves, and I would like it to be a mermaid shape with tulle going out for more room to move from my knees down for when we go dancing together at the reception. Mateo gets to work with Ella, occasionally pointing and making directions at him. They work so well together and seem to know what the other is saying before they can finish their sentences. Carlos got bored with hanging out in his stroller, so Ava asked if she could take him over to the men sitting on the couches about 20 feet away. They both nodded their permission as they continued to focus on the dress. Ava picked him up and headed over to hang out with Jacob on the couch. Carlos had a lot of fun getting passed down and interacting with the men. I enjoyed watching Nicolas and Dalton both making faces and talking baby talk, with Iris and Livi watching them with little smiles on their faces. I have seen the same smile on my face before, wondering what mine and Collin's baby would look like in my head. I am smiling at them before they turn back to us to watch Mateo work his magic and see me smiling at them.

When Mateo turned the drawing pad around, I gasped, as it was absolutely perfect. That was my vision and they had captured it; it was absolutely perfect and needed no changes at all. Ella was smiling at me, and I knew she knew where I was going and that she had just given him the tips to get me there. Iris and Livi were both tearing up as they could see me in it as if it had already been made. Ava had heard me gasp and came back to look at what the dress looked like, and she gasped too and said, "Oh my goodness, you are going to be the most beautiful bride ever in that dress". Collin had at first gotten concerned when he heard me gasp and had gotten up, but when he realized it was over the dress, he sat back down as he didn't want to see it and spoil how I was going to look in it. Mateo and Ella had captured my vision and knocked it out of the park. I already loved the dress.
