Chapter 110

Cora's POV

Collin staring at me like that when I came down the aisle almost made me shiver in excitement. We were going to head out tomorrow morning, early to fly to Paris, and the babies were going to spend tonight and the next 3 days with my parents, and then be taken for the next four days to stay with Marlowe and Alderidge at their home. They already have two rooms set up for their grandbabies, one with cribs in them, and one for bigger kids, as Marlowe plans to host her grandchildren as much as she can, when she can. The pictures had come out so well and one of my favorites was seeing the one where Collin had kissed me after the pastor had pronounced us man and wife, as well as him dipping me with the sunset behind us, and my arm reaching up to cup his cheek. All the pictures that I have been shown so far looked wonderful and I was so happy with how this day had gone.

I am dancing with my husband now, and I am so happy, we did get to dance at Ella and Mateo's wedding, but only a few dances, because Collin couldn't stay. That seems like a lifetime ago, since April. We came off the dance floor and started to speak to the guests again. I had noticed that Emily's plus one happened to be Adam, and she had mentioned it to me last month because she was scared that she was going to need some support when Dalton found out. The cat was out of the bag last night when we had rehearsal and then a group dinner after rehearsal. Dalton is very protective of his younger sister, who is the same age as Adam, and still looks at Adam like he wants to say something but hasn't approached him yet. I had Ava put in a good word for Adam, and I felt I needed to say something too as we were coming up on something that I have been waiting a month to do. Dalton owes me a favor now, as the favor I am doing him is about to come up soon. It really wasn't a big favor as it was my pleasure to do it, and I made sure that no one at the wedding party knew about it. But I am still going to call it in now because I love Adam, and I want him and Dalton to have a good relationship, as Adam loves Emily very much, and she loves him too.

Iris smiles at me as I approached her and Dalton, and we talk for a little while before she excuses herself to go to the restroom. I took the opportunity to lean forward and speak in a low tone so no one else could hear me, "Dalton, I have a favor to ask you", I told him.

"Sure, what do you need, Cora? Oh, and are you ready for the plan to be executed?" Dalton asks me.

"I know you just found out about Emily and Adam yesterday, but I want you to know that they both love each other very much. Emily had been dating someone for a little while and when he broke it off, with no reason why she struggled for a while. She met Adam when I introduced them in March, and he is a good man. I didn't know that they were dating each other until last month when she mentioned it accidentally while we were talking. I love them both and I hope you give him a chance to prove to you what a good man he is. I love you, and I love Adam, and I didn't want your relationship to start out rocky. Emily loves you both too, she knows that you have years of being her defender under your belt and wouldn't love her seriously dating anyone, so they waited to make sure they wanted to let all their friends know. I hope you decide to give them a chance".

Dalton looked at me for a few moments, with a contemplative look on his face. I could tell he was thinking about what he wanted to say, before just saying it.

"I love my sister and it has always just been the two of us growing up as kids and our parents. It is hard giving the job of protecting her over to someone I do not know very well. But I know my sister and she is a smart woman. I knew that she dated a man last year and when he broke it off, she was very upset. The high point of her year last year was when you got her modeling for Mateo, and then you three being photographed and in Vogue together. I just didn't want anyone to date her for the family's money, I wanted someone who would love her for her. The last man was in it for money. He had come to my office to discuss him staying with Emily, for a price. I let him know where the door was and to never contact her again. I protect her even when she doesn't know that I am doing it. I actually knew about Adam though. When I hadn't seen Emily for a little while, I hired a private detective that Thomas had recommended to me, as he was helping you at the time. He told me she was dating him, and I already had him vetted. He is a good man. I was just waiting for Emily to tell me about him, and me to get to formally meet him. I think Emily got him scared by telling him about how overprotective I am over her. I was glad he came last night. I won't be mean to him, Cora, and I know you were worried about it because I figured you had sent Ava to me to give him some kind words too. He works two jobs; he is a firefighter and an EMT and he works the second job to help his parents out with his younger siblings. The youngest brother is about to graduate high school, and coincidentally won a full scholarship to a local college from my family's business, so Adam and he won't have to work so hard anymore", Dalton told me. I got tears in my eyes as I got up to hug him and thank him for doing that for Adam's youngest brother. I never knew why he did it. I just figured he was saving for something.

"You are a good man too, Dalton. I am thankful to call you friend as well. I won't mention it to either of them, but your sister is smart. I am sure if his brother has gotten the notification, I am sure that they will both figure it out", I told him and felt an arm come around my waist and Collin hugged me to his side.

"This is a joyful day baby, there is never any need to cry. Is there something that I can help with?" Collin asks me and I realize I have my eyes filled with tears and he was worried about me. I blink as I lean my head back, so the tears don't spill over, and tell Collin, "No baby, I am OK, I was just talking to Dalton about something. These are happy tears, not sad tears".

"OK, it looked like you were upset, and I was going to come over here and help you," Collin tells me and then bends over to give me a slow kiss, that ended up with my pulse a lot higher than when he started it. We already have our bags packed for tomorrow, and we are looking forward to going home tonight and starting our honeymoon. We get called to the dance floor for Collin to remove my garter belt and then shoot it towards the single man. Collin lets his hand travel past my garter and skim my upper thigh for a little bit, before coming back down to tug the garter down my leg. The men line up with Dalton and Nicolas at the front and center of the group, but with Dalton's height and reach, is probably going to catch it, as he looks like he wants to more than anyone else except Nicolas, who has his game face on. I have my money on them being the two to catch it, but Michael just stepped up and is right between and a little behind them, so it is anyone's game, at this point. Collin turns away from them and launches the garter back towards them and I see Dalton jump in the air to get it, and Nicolas hits him in the stomach with the back of his arm and knocking the air out of his stomach. Nicolas reaches up with his other hand and snatches the garter out of the air and turns towards Livi holding up his prize, with Dalton smacking the back of Nicolas' head and calling him a "Cheater". Nicolas laughs and comes up to Livi, showing her the garter, picks her up and twirls her around, and then lowers her to give her a kiss. Livi is smiling widely and tells him, "I am going to go get the bouquet then." She walks to the front where the girls are all lined up and I go grab my bouquet. I discreetly untie the ribbon around it as I head back to them and turn my back and the rest of the single ladies line up to participate. I know that Ava and Emily are going to get them in place as I need them to be front and center for me as they are going to figure it out quickly, as they are all smart women. I smile over at Collin and wink as he is about to get surprised too, because I have specific instructions on what to do here.

I got to my spot after I glanced over my shoulder to make sure that who I was delivering to was front and center, and after making sure and hearing the good-natured teasing as they booted Ava out of the group, as she got engaged two weeks ago and she walked over to Jacob who wrapped his hands around her waist and held her front of him and lowered his chin to her shoulder to watch the show as they both knew what was about to happen. I act like I am about to throw my bouquet behind myself as I listen to my friends trash talk to each other as they each tell the other that "I am going to catch that bouquet".

I turned on the last swing of my arms and walked up to the front of the group and split my bouquet into three bundles of flowers and handed them to Iris, Livi, and Sadie, who all stood there stunned at what I have done. The crowd clears out as the bouquet has been distributed, with Dalton, Nicolas, and Michael now kneeling behind their girlfriends. Collin is standing there with his mouth wide open in surprise as he watches his best friends ask my best friends to marry them, and his brother asking Sadie to marry him. Marlowe and Alderidge are standing there with huge smiles as they watch to see what happens next. Livi starts crying and nodding her head and stepping up to Nicolas as he straightens up from the floor, to stand and give her a thorough kiss. They were still kissing as both Sadie and Iris started screaming "Yes!" to Michael and Dalton and running the few steps toward them. They are both getting their kisses as Nicolas slides his ring onto Livi's finger and kisses her again. Dalton picks up Iris and swings her around with a huge smile on his face, and Michael gives Sadie another heated kiss before sliding his ring onto her finger. Dalton puts Iris back onto the floor and slides her ring onto her finger. The girls all turn to me at the same time and run over to surround me with hugs and thank me for making their proposals special. I have never seen anyone do this for three people at once like we just did, but the guys had been talking about it for the last 5 weeks and asking me how to make it special. They each wanted to go first and the other two would argue it would spoil their proposal as then the girls would know it was coming. I have seen a few videos like this before, and it was really sweet, so I suggested that we do it like this, and surprise all three of them at the same time, and my florist was glad to help me out. I am glad to be able to participate in it with them. Marlowe is heading towards Michael and Sadie to give them a hug, and then Marlowe comes over to me to hug me and thank me for helping them out. All three of the girls were stunned at what I had done and surprised when they turned around and they saw their men kneeling behind them. I know Michael is probably going to try to go first and soon, as he and Sadie have an announcement to make to everyone, as soon as we leave for our honeymoon. They just found out last week they were expecting but wanted us to have our special day, which was the real reason for the triple engagement.
