Chloe's POV

After sitting in the room with Lucas, laying down with my head on his chest trying to wrap my headaround everything that I learned today, which was way to much for a person to process, but I don'treally have a choice, I need to come to terms with everything considering what I'm going to bedealing with in the next 2 hours.

"Sweet girl" as he plays with my hair "is there anything you need? How are you feeling?" I sat upand looked down at him and then he sat up still staring at me "Are you going to stay with me thewhole time? And can you tell me all about how this all works, not shifting, you explained that in wayto much detail, but how the whole ranking thing works" so we sat there together and he explainedall about packs and Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Omegas, rogues, basically everything, then he told meabout this town and how everything is run, like when his sister has errands is really because she isworking border control and helping keep us safe or she's out training. "Do you train and workborder control?" "I train but haven't been this passed week because I've been taking care of you andmaking sure you were okay. I don't work border control because I'm training to take over the packso I work with my father and learn the politics and how to help my pack run smoothly.”

By the time we finished talking it was a quarter to midnight and we headed down stairs and out theback doors to the gardens, walking through looking at how beautiful it was until we got towards theforest line. There was a old stone bench with some shirts and sweatpants sitting there and I lookedup at Lucas "Those are for after, your clothes don't exactly stay intact when you shift. Now if youpass out or anything happens I will be here to keep you safe and make sure you are okay. If by anychance you do pass out from the pain I will bring you back into the house to your room, okay?" "If Ido, will you stay with me?" "I will not leave you, not even for a minute okay. I promise you Clo, I'mnot leaving your side" It was 2 minutes to midnight and I felt a bit dizzy and hot, like my whole bodyfelt like it was on fire “Chloe, we can do this, I promise, I will take care of you, happy birthday Chloe,you are the strongest person and we got this’ I took a deep breath and then I felt a sharp stingingpain radiating through my back, it worked its way to my arms, legs, hands, feet and then my face,my face! My jaw clenched shut and then shot open as I felt it elongate and my teeth grow andbecome sharp, sharp enough to cut through my tongue, omg my tongue is different. Next thing Iknew my back snapped throwing me back hard, while standing, then slamming me forward, it felt asif my spine was breaking and then healing within seconds of each other, my legs felt as if they werebreaking and I slammed down onto the ground with a hard thud as my arms started doing thesame thing. I could feel myself screaming but couldn't hear it coming out of my mouth, only in myhead. Hair was protruding out of my entire body, my ears were burning and my fingers felt like eachnail was being ripped out from the nail bed before longer, thicker claws were slowly and agonizinglyshoving through each finger. I was panting hard, replaceing it hard to catch my breath, almost as if Iwas drowning and then blackness, silence, I felt alone.

“Chloe? Chloe can you hear me?' “Callie! is that you!? Why can't I see anything? I feel lost and can'treplace my way out’

“Okay Chloe I need you to focus on me okay, listen to me and breathe, I want you to open your eyesand remember where you were when it all started, in the woods by the garden, can you do that’“Okay, I'm breathing’ “Try and replace Lucas's voice, he's calling to you' I stood there breathing in andout and picturing what I remembered I saw last and then opened my eyes. Everything was soamazing! I could smells things from miles away it felt like, hear a pin drop and see like I had neverseen before, I knew it was dark out but I could see everything around me and then I looked to theside of me and there was a wolf, bigger than a bear it seemed and blacker than night, when themoonlight hit he almost looked blue and he had these dark yet glowing eyes and I just stared athim “Callie? Are we together here? Is this what it's like when you are in my head?" “Oh Chloe! youfound your way through and we are together, yes this is us together in one mind, the way it willalways be’ 'Is that Lucas?’ “That's Gage Chloe, Lucas's wolf, we are going to follow him okay and run,I want to run!" Next thing I knew we were running through the woods, faster than a car it felt like,the feel of the breeze through my fur, I have never felt so free in my entire life, this was the mostamazing experience ever.

We ran for about an hour and made it back to the house, I saw so may wolves around us and it wastherapeutic to say the least. Callie and I shifted back and it hurt but nothing like when I became her.I grabbed the clothes and got dressed quickly and then Lucas came up and did the same.

"How are you feeling sweet girl? You did so great, better than I ever did, and your wolf is amazingand stunningly beautiful, pure white with the most gorgeous eyes, I've never seen a wolf with thoseeyes before" then he grabbed me and kissed me, the kiss sent sparks flying through my entire body,it never did that before, this was different and addictive. He pulled away and I felt myself whimperand he looked down at me "Wow, that was.. that was breathtaking” he smirked at me and pulled meinto him and when his skin touched mine I felt the same sparks “Chloe, I can hear his wolf howlingwith excitement it felt like Callie was howling with excitement too, her and Gage really like oneanother a lot which makes me happy because I like Lucas a lot too. I started to feel tired, physicallydrained and then felt Lucas lift me into his arms and carry me up to the room and he whispered"Happy Birthday" in my ear.
