Cleo's POV

As Angel took her place on the front row of seats, Axel stood with Roman and me. This would be his first act as the leader of the newly formed council, but to look at his face, you wouldn't think it. He looked more confident than I had ever seen him. If Athena were looking down, she would be proud of her mate for serving her justice and rebuilding after so much loss.

The regular couple would now enjoy their reception, eat, dance and be merry, but we had one more ceremony to complete before we could enjoy the remainder of the evening. You have honoured us in every possible way. You have united packs, prevented wars, and created a wave of peace between witches, vampires and wolves. We have grieved the loss of our King with you and will now mourn together as equals."

"Oh, look at what you've gone and done." Angel hid her face as she began to cry. A tribute to the leaving royal was traditional, but Axel had put love and thought into his speech, making it personal.

Standing back up, everyone else followed suit, all turning to face their Queen with their hand placed over their hearts.

I had heard about the Royal step down as a pup, but never in a million years did I think I'd get to witness it, let alone be involved. It was rare for the reigning royal to step down. Raising from her seat, Angel strode towards us. As I bowed before her, she placed a blue amulet over my head and gently placed it on my chest. She put her hand under my chin and tilted my head so I faced her. Smiling, she placed a kiss on my cheek before turning to Roman. As Roman bowed before his grandmother, Axel handed her a ceremonial blade.

Holding the blade over the candle beside us on its stand, I watched as the blade began to glow a soft yellow. She placed her hand out in front and put the blade into it, slicing upward quickly and swiftly. As the blood that coated the edges brightened, she took Roman's hand, cutting his palm too.

Giving the blade back to Axel, I watched as Roman and Angel held hands allowing their blood to fuse as the beginning of the Royal Power exchange began.

"I, Luna Queen Angel, granddaughter of the Moon Goddess and daughter of the Late Alpha King William, release the royal power to you, Roman Gemstone."

"I, Roman Gemstone, accept the Royal Power and all that it stands for. I promise to protect those under my reign and to fight until my last breath should the need arise. I promise to lead the Kingdom and all the packs into a new era." My eyes widened as the pair were lifted into the air, a soft wind blowing around them. This was when the realisation set in. Our lives would be forever different, and our daughter would grow to have a better life than I did. She would grow up knowing that her family, this, and the Royal Pack would forever have her back. Roman's POV

Since becoming King of the Royal Pack, things between my fathers and I had become less strained. I now understood the stress they underwent every day until they passed the pack to Kai.

Cleo and I had our ups and downs, but that was to be expected after she gave birth to the second set of twins to grace our bloodline. We thought one child was stressful, but this was a whole new story. Scarlett took to being an older sister beautifully. She was six and couldn't do enough for her litter brothers. My fathers laughed as they watched me continually acting as a bloody referee. These boys were wild and constantly doing shit they shouldn't be. If a heartache should be my end, these would likely be the cause of it.

"Cleo, please hurry up. We're going to be late!" Checking the time on my watch, I took Scarlett out to the car and strapped her in. The boys were already in the car and drawing quietly.

"Urgh, nothing fits me anymore! How does this look?" Cleo waddled down the stairs in her fourth outfit.

"Love, you look beautiful in that, just as you did in the last few outfits. Our pup will be here soon, and then everything will fit." Cleo stood on her tiptoes and kissed me. I swore to the goddess that her hormones were getting worse with each pregnancy. Once this pup was here, I would do whatever it took not to have any more.

Once we were finally in the car, we journeyed to the human town just outside our borders. Our boys had been enrolled in a human school with Scarlett to teach them that we were all the same, no matter who we were and where we came from. They needed to learn to respect our species and the others.

"Oh, I wonder if Jax got to be the wolf!" Scarlett was excited to watch her brothers in their first school performance.

"No, sweetheart, he's a huntsman, and Toby is a villager, I think."

Seeing the disappointment on her little face hurt, but she would one day learn the reasons behind the decisions her mother and I made. Pulling up at the school, my parents and grandmother met us. Our family was a strong unit, so I knew they wouldn't miss this for the world. Angels POV

As I grew tired, I left and headed for my room. My breathing became heavy as I slowly laid myself down.

'Mum...' Opening my eyes, I saw my two girls, arms linked, as they held their hands out for me. Seeing them embraced together proved that you could replace forgiveness even in death.

'It's time, little wolf.' His voice I had missed. Jake stood behind our girls, his hands on their shoulders.

I had lived a happy and fulfilling life. I had watched my family grow and succeed in things I never thought possible. But now my time was up, and as I fell into a peaceful sleep, I was reunited with those I loved most. The End
