Fate’s Second Chance ( Salome Felix ) -
Fate’s Second Chance Chapter 1
Chapter 1
The man had fallen asleep, and his sharp narrow eyes were lightly closed.
Salome Felix suppressed the bitterness in her heart as she felt her way out of bed. Her
back was arced in a nice–looking curve, partially hidden behind her long hair. Flashing in
and out of sight, her figure was graceful and innocent. She was about to pick up the
clothes scattered on the floor when a cold voice sounded behind her.
“How much?”
There was not a trace of emotion in that voice, and the strong suggestive tone during.
his drunken stupor last night had vanished.
Salome paused, her hand still gripping her clothes.
How ironic. Her husband, whom she was married to for three years, didn’t even know
who she was.
Three years ago, she had saved Old Mr. Anderson’s life. Coincidentally, around that
time, her father’s company also ran into some problems in its first round of financing.
Old Mr. Anderson, also known as Jacob Anderson, suggested that she get married to
his grandson, Isaac Anderson, and he would also invest 45 million in the Felix Family.
Isaac was absent throughout the process. It was only after Salome received the

marriage certificate that she found out the man had gone overseas.
In those three years, she became the laughingstock for being Mrs. Anderson by name
only.
She never thought that their first meeting would take place on a bed.
“I don’t want money.”
She then wore her clothes. Her mind was in a mess because of the hangover, and she
felt like it would explode.
“You don’t want money, huh? So, you want to use this to tie me down?”

Isaac sneered. His eyes seemed to see through her as he examined her from head to
toe. Her face was pale and small, and her figure was just right. Her eyes were clear, and
she had decent looks, but that was all there was to it.
Once again, a woman had offered herself to him, but the difference this time was that
she succeeded.
The man looked away. “I won’t give you even a penny less than what you deserve, but
you’d better give up on plans you shouldn’t pursue.”
Even though he got drunk last night, he shouldn’t be able to completely lose control

over a woman. The problem lay in the glass of wine she gave him.
Salome had already finished putting on her clothes. Last night, the Andersons held a welcome banquet for Isaac, and all the rich and influential young ladies attended the
banquet to have a look at the business prodigy who would take over the entire
Anderson Group as soon as he came back from overseas.

Salome had arrived late. Jacob, despite being overseas himself, insisted that she
attend the welcome banquet. She intended to leave after greeting Isaac, but her father
stopped her and passed her two glasses of wine.
He said that since Isaac was back, she and Isaac should have a proper talk with each
other.
However, in the end…
Salome knew how much Isaac hated this marriage. What could she do to convince him
that everything that happened last night wasn’t her intention at all?
A self–mocking look appeared in Salome’s eyes as she fell silent for a second or two.
“Actually, I
The phone on the headboard vibrated.
Isaac glanced at it leisurely. It was a call from his private lawyer.
After Isaac activated hands–free mode, a man’s respectful voice sounded from the
other end of the line. “Mr. Anderson, I’m at Miss Felix’s apartment right now, but she’s
not home. Shall I deliver the divorce agreement to Felix Group?”
Isaac got up and walked over to the floor–to–ceiling windows. He frowned as he gazed
at the view in the distance. He had no impression of the wife he was married to for
three years.
He heard from Jacob that his wife had a decent personality. She wasn’t interested in
snatching anything, and she was also a top student who graduated from a university in
Hallowthorn, but so what?
The Felixes had survived their predicament a long time ago, so her kindness to Jacob
was considered repaid in full.
The man’s voice was emotionless and cold. “Contact her first, and get her to sign the
divorce agreement. Only contact Felix Group if she refuses…”
Salome found her phone and checked it to see if she missed any messages from work.
When she heard the word ‘divorce agreement, she froze for a moment. There was a
message from her father, Arthur Felix, displayed on her phone.
‘Sasa, I heard you left the banquet early last night. Leticia wants me to ask if Isaac
drank that wine.’

Salome lowered her head. ‘Dad, was it you who prepared the wine?‘
‘It was from Leticia. If you’re not busy with work today, go visit your sister at the
hospital. She says she misses you.’
Salome felt a little annoyed, guessing that her stepmother must have plotted it on
purpose again.
When Arthur noticed that she hadn’t replied, he asked, ‘What’s the matter? Was the
alcohol content too high? Did you get drunk?‘
He thought that she wasn’t feeling well because of a hangover, so he hastily asked if
she needed some hangover soup. His tone was filled with care and concern.

Salome was upset, but her mother passed away early on, and her father managed the
company on his own. He also played both the roles of father and mother all these years,
so he had been through a lot.
Also, he only remarried when she was in her first year of university, so he never
wronged her.
She didn’t want to mention this, so she suppressed the sorrow in her heart. ‘It’s okay, I’ll
go visit Winnie later. Please thank Leticia for me for being so considerate.’
The conversation at the floor–to–ceiling windows was still ongoing, and the subject had

shifted to official business.
Salome looked up. The rays outside the window fell upon the man’s shoulders, and he
looked casual in his white nightgown.
Isaac was standing against the light, so Salome couldn’t make out the expression on
his handsome face. The contours of his profile looked extra stern, making him look
even colder and more unapproachable.
She put away her phone, then turned around, opened the door, and walked out.

He was planning to divorce her, anyway. If he knew that he had just slept with the wife
he never cared about for three years, things would get awkward.
It was better like this. They should part ways in peace.
After Isaac hung up, he realized that it was getting late, and he still had to deal with an
outsider. He turned around, only to be met with a silent room that caused him to frown.
The messy sheets were pulled down, and a shirt was rolled up and tossed at the foot of
the bed.
The smell of wine was mixed with an alluring scent.
He reached up and pinched between his eyebrows. If it weren’t for the startling dark red
patch on the bed sheets, he would’ve thought that the woman he saw when he woke
up this morning was an illusion.
Knocks sounded on the door, and the voice of his secretary, Jason Chambers, could be
heard outside. “Mr. Anderson.”
“Come in.”
The door was pushed open, and Jason walked in with a fresh suit. When he saw the
scene in the room, he felt suspicious, but he didn’t say a word. After setting the suit
down, he respectfully left and went to the living room.
Isaac went to the bathroom for a shower. After getting ready, he walked out.
Jason followed at an appropriate distance behind Isaac as they went outside. Isaac
paused in his tracks, then asked, “Who was the woman that went out of my room this
morning?”
