Fate’s Second Chance ( Salome Felix ) -
Fate’s Second Chance Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Derek was smiling. He wore a suit and leather shoes, and he seemed quite polite, but
Salome felt a little uncomfortable when he looked at her.
Salome’s gaze was cold as she passed Winnie’s medication to Derek.
“I’ve already visited her. You pass these to Leticia.”
Derek raised an eyebrow. “Let’s go together. We haven’t met in a long while.”
“It’s okay, I have something else to attend to.” Salome handed Derek the medicine, then
turned around and walked out of the lobby.
Derek watched her leave with a meaningful gaze, then couldn’t help but hold the
medicine to his nose, taking a whiff.
After all, a good–looking young lady was seen at the OBGYN department, holding
antibiotics in her hand. Of course, people would think that something was up.
Derek lowered his gaze, feeling his stomach tighten.
He never thought that Salome would be so daring in private, despite seeming so aloof
on the surface.
It was reasonable, though. Her husband hadn’t been around for three years, so it wasn’t

surprising that a lonely woman like her would get into an affair or two.
He wasn’t in a hurry. Salome would return to the Felix Family sooner or later, so he had
all the opportunities in the world.
After getting into the car, Salome still felt a little uncomfortable.
In the beginning, because of the three moving into the Felix Family, she had to
constantly see Derek, who wasn’t related to her at all. She felt a little uncomfortable
about that.
Arthur had asked her to stay, but when she hinted that Derek could move out instead,.
Arthur felt extremely troubled.
Arthur felt that he owed Leticia and Winnie a lot, and he wanted to treat Derek the
same.
Salome didn’t want to add to his burdens, so she moved out on her own.
Now, she looked like an outsider instead.
She didn’t have to clock in at the studio, but when she was driving home, her phone
rang. When she saw the name flashing on the screen, her already bad mood turned
even worse.
The ringtone hadn’t stopped after a long while, so Salome took a deep breath and

answered the call.
“Hello, Madam White.”
The person who called was Brenda White, Isaac’s biological mother.

Ever since Salome received the marriage certificate, this mother–in–law of hers, who
came from a prominent background and carried herself haughtily, would always replace
fault with her. Salome knew better than to get in the way, so save for some acts she put
up in front of Jacob, she steered clear of anything related to the Andersons.
“Please come to the Anderson Residence so that we can discuss the divorce in
person.”
Brenda didn’t mince her words, and she even spoke up in case Salome declined.
“Salome, you should know that we simply couldn’t refuse Old Mr. Anderson’s request
back then, but now that Isaac is taking over the Anderson Group, he makes the final
decisions in the Anderson Family. Old Mr. Anderson will probably comply.”
In other words, the divorce was inevitable.
Brenda even expected Salome to make a fuss out of it. After all, no woman would want
to let go of her son.
Even if they couldn’t obtain his love for their entire lives, they would be happy just to

exchange a few words with him.
However, Salome’s reply over the phone was calm. “All right. Shall I come over now?”
Salome didn’t even question it, and she was so indifferent about it.
It was as if she had been waiting for this day.

Brenda didn’t like that. The Andersons should toss Salome away, true, but Salome was
behaving in such a cold way that it felt like Isaac wasn’t attractive enough for her.
Brenda snorted, trying to make herself look good as she said, “I’m glad you agree.
You’re not worthy of Isaac in a position like that, and he deserves someone better. You
can come here right now. I’ve called Isaac too, and he’ll be here soon.”
Salome hesitated. Isaac will be there too?
If he replaces out that the woman he slept with last night was the wife he would divorce
soon, how would he react?
He was such a prideful man.
He probably would feel like he had swallowed a fly. He couldn’t spit it out, but it still
disgusted him.
Salome smiled lightly, then headed for Anderson Residence.

When Brenda saw Salome, she didn’t seem too happy, but since Salome wasn’t making
a fuss and demanding compensation, she let Salome off.
“Don’t blame me for being too cruel, but you should know the current state of the Felix
Family, and I’m not scared to speak the truth. You should convince your dad to throw in
the towel as soon as possible because he’s not made for business. The Andersons
could help him once, but never again. Also, your stepmother is trying to take advantage
of us. You’re in a very bad spot. There’s nothing to be gained from having you in the
Anderson Family, and we even have to take care of the burdensome family you come
from! We have to consider backgrounds too, you know, so you only have your
background to blame.”
Salome was sitting on the couch, and when she heard that, she nodded in agreement.
“Yes, I truly am not worthy of Mr. Anderson.”
In reality, save for the marriage certificate, the Andersons might as well be strangers to
her, and she even had to bear a false name for no reason.
Divorce would be an escape for her.
Brenda fell silent.
She felt like she was unsatisfactorily landing punches on cotton. She couldn’t figure out
if the humble woman in front of her was putting on an act or being sincerely indifferent
about it.
Chapter 3 You Only Have Your Background to Blame
The sound of a car braking was heard in the yard outside.
When the servants waiting outside noticed that Isaac’s car had pulled up, they hastily
came in to report. “Madam, the young master is back!”
Brenda stood up in elation and hastily walked out the door.
Salome stared in the direction of the door as well. She had already made mental
preparations to face Isaac, but her originally calm heart suddenly turned nervous
beyond her control.
