Feelings through poetry
Poem 20 - Corrupted

I’m corrupted, and I’m broken, thousands of words unspoken

I am sad, and I’m mistaken, judged, and shaken.

I’m corrupted, and I’m broken, never really awaken.

I’m judged and mistaken, outspoken about the way I feel.

I’m judged, I’m seeking for approval,

I feel corrupted, and I feel broken, I want to feel accepted.

The truth is spoken, can I feel unbroken? Internally, it hurts.

I feel corrupted, and I feel broken,

Hundreds of words unspoken, they got stuck in my throat,

Paper filled with the words I wrote; that’s how I decided to cope.

I’m mad and mistaken, judged, and shaken.

Corrupted and broken, my words were spoken.

Now I feel awake, no longer shaken.

I still feel corrupted and broken,

The pain made my words unspoken.

These words I wrote, because they got stuck in my throat,

At least now, I’m floating my boat.

I was judged, I felt shaken,

I always got mistaken; it made me feel broken,

My words couldn’t be spoken.

Now I feel unbroken,

I’m awake, no longer shaken, no longer mistaken.

I feel accepted, and that’s something I never expected.
