Poem 5 - Faded Friendship
A long time ago, our friendship was nice.
Now I think it’s melting like ice.
We had the same interests, topics to talk about, but now it’s more likely toxic.
You talk, ’bout something I’m not interested in,
When I try to speak, you don’t let me.
You go back to history, and that’s how it is.
Only one topic you talk, a theme I don’t care,
I feel like our friendship is turning toxic.
It’s not as it used to be, it’s not nice,
I feel like our friendship’s melting like ice.
It’s slowly fading away, though there isn’t anything to do,
it seems you only care about your phone.
You only care about your internet friends you can’t meet, and not about other people.
We keep saying we’re best friends,
I think it’s just a cycle, a cycle that will never end.
I want to break away; I’m scared I’ll betray ya,
I’m getting sick; I want it to be like it’s been.
You don’t know what no means when I say stop talking,
You continue, I feel like you don’t care anymore.
Maybe I’m just sensitive, but I think you’re the one to blame.
Our friendship is not as it’s been before; it’s not nice and is melting like a cube of ice.
Soon there will be only water, and our it will fade because everything will sooner come to an end.
Maybe that’s how it was made; it’s possibly been just fate.
I don’t want to ruin our friendship...
But what can I do? I feel like we shouldn’t see each other anymore.
We shared the same things, the same interests, and now it’s coming to an end.
