Everything was bloody perfect with Leo. We had spent the afternoon feeding and cuddling him, like Dean and I were his parents. It was the most amazing day, which cleared my mind.

I was meeting Sebastian at the Dunnager. I had not seen him in the last three days, since he had been at his parents' mansion for some kind of emergency. I had spent all those days with Ash, in bed, making me feel guilty as hell. Even though, they kept on telling me that it was fine. That they had excepted our little three-way relationship. Yet, I felt awkward all the time. I loved both of them, for some very different reasons and I couldn’t phantom letting one of them go. I just couldn’t choose. I was more Rainer than I thought I was apparently.

I walked in and immediately sensed his mood. He was sitting at the farthest table, head in his hands in front of a huge glass of whiskey. Jup, something was up. I had asked him yesterday and the day before if everything was ok. But he hadn’t really answered me. Our usual chatting, which could go up to hours a day, was halted for the past few days so I had already figured out something was wrong.

‘Seb, are you alright?’ I slid down on the bench next to him and he immediately reached for a kiss. Which made my body relax a little. Until I sat back and took a good look at him. He had bags under his eyes, he was forming a small beard and mustache from not shaving, his hair was a mess. ‘What happened?’ he had grabbed my hand and pulled me closer. Hugging me. ‘I’m so glad to see you.’ He added, voice thick with emotion. I hugged him back and rubbed his lower back for a while. He clearly needed to hold me. He was breathing hard. Clearly fighting against the tears, since we were in public and that wouldn’t go well with his happy-go-lucky attitude. ‘It’s Nicolai….’ His youngest brother had it rough the last year. He had been acting out. What had he done this time?

He swallowed. ‘He overdosed and….’

I gasped and slapped my hands in front of my mouth. After being here for nearly a year, Nicolai was one of the first to be nice to me without ulterior motives. Since dating Sebastian for the last four months I had gotten to know him pretty well. I was rather fond of him. My eyes were tearing up as I saw the pain in Sebastian’s. ‘He’s in intensive care….’ He breathed out as if he had been holding it in for ages. He probably had.

‘I’m so sorry…is he… will he…’ I choked. Almost couldn’t contain my own tears. ‘I should have been there-’

He interrupted me with a long kiss, so much desperation in it. ‘I couldn’t put you through that. You’ve been through enough…and no… it looks like he will pull through. But Mason found him and… we’re all fucked up because of it.’ he whispered against my lips, a lone tear sliding down his cheek. I kissed him one more time. ‘Do you want to just hang at our dorm?’ I whispered. He shook his head. ‘I need people around me now and then I need to hold you all night.’ I made a mental note to send Ash a text that I wasn’t sleeping at his place tonight. That would go over well probably…

He grabbed me and put me on his lap. ‘You are staying right here, okay?’ I nodded. ‘Is Dexar joining us?’ because he had chosen our usual table for six, I was guessing he had invited the clique.

He looked at his watch. ‘In about half an hour. I wanted to talk to you first.’ He played with my hand. We ordered some beers, after he had downed that whiskey and waited on the others. He had told me the entire story and it made shivers run up and down my back.
