Figment of Dreams -
One More
‘Come on, Lux. One more!’ Sky could barely speak, she was so far in the one more Tequila tunnel it was insane. I was almost at that point of tipping over my own edge. That point in the night where you go to the bathroom, sit down, and see the entire room spinning underneath your feet. My point of the night was to forget about all the shit of last week but it was turning out to be a wrong idea.
Olive was dead ass asleep on the bar next to us. Her dark green hair hid her face from us behind her two arms.
My Telvice pinged again and I was refusing to look at it. They could all fuck off by now.
At the moment I was the mom of the group and if I took one more shot I wouldn’t be able to think, let alone take care of any of them.
I glanced at my Telvice anyway. It was Ash.
Ash: where’s my sweet cheeks at?
And at that statement, I slammed back the last one.
‘Okay, that’s about enough.’ As I was reaching for another shot, some warm hand took my wrist. I stared at the tats and immediately could tell it was Dosch. He was flanked by Mourad and Marcus as usual. What was he doing at this bar? I had never seen him here before.
I forcefully removed my arm from his grip. The momentum caused me to nearly tumble backward over my stool, if it wasn’t for Marcus at my back, pushing me upwards again. I saw Sky gaping at Dosch with her mouth open, not caring she was giving away her fear of him that was still present.
The scowling match continued. I saw Mourad ordering the waiter to remove our glasses and the near empty bottle. ‘Hey, I was going to drink that.’ I protested loudly. Because fuck em.
‘I don’t feel so good.’ I heard Sky mumble as I was reaching over the bar for the last bit of Tequila left in the last shot glass which remained. I felt two hands on my hips slamming me back. Making me slap against his chest with a hard thud. He would never let any of his two bodyguards grab me like that, so I knew it was Dosch. ‘Marcus, take Sky to the bathroom. Don’t leave her alone.’ His voice tickled my neck as he spoke harshly. He flicked his wrist to Mourad. ‘You take Olive back to the dorms.’ He growled at me as I was trying to wriggle away from his grip. ‘Text me when both of them are home.’ He flipped me around, making the room spin and I had to blink a few times to refocus.
‘Why are you doing this, Carina?’ he said, voice serious.
‘Let go of me.’ I whispered. Still, a little bit flustered and the room didn’t stop spinning. I fell forward against his chest. His heartbeat sounded good to my drunk mind so I leaned in further. He let out this half moan, half laugh which made my toes curl.
‘I’ll take you home.’ He whispered while rubbing my hair. That’s when I remembered. ‘No.’ I growled into his chest and that made him chuckle again. ‘Well, yes.’ He kissed the top of my head. ‘NO.’ I growled louder and try to wiggle away from him again.
‘I need to leave.’ I said to the bearded guy who had been sitting next to Olive.
‘Well, you lovely lad are free to leave with me.’ He winked and licked his lips. I crinkled my nose and tried to step back but my back hit the bar. Dom had given him such a menacing answer, which I had not heard. The guy was now scrambling, half falling over his own feet, running out of the bar.
I, in the meantime, had found that last shot the bartender had forgotten. I smirked at Dosch over the glass.
‘I swear to god, Carina.’ He slowly said, accent thick, while approaching me slowly like I was a wild animal, not taking his eyes of my shot glass. ‘If you tip that back, Carina. Oomph…’ he sighed. ‘You are going to regret it, dios mio.’ He licked his lips.
‘Bottoms up.’ I tipped it back. He was now chest to chest with me.
‘You enjoyed that huh.’ He whispered while pulling some hairs out of my face. Studying me, studying my lips and licking his own again. His other hand pulled on my ponytail, tipping my chin up. And my nipples.
I exaggeratingly moaned. ‘Just delicious.’ And I stepped closer. He was not expecting that. ‘Stop teasing me, Carina.’ He whispered against my lips. ‘I’m about to drag you to that bathroom again but you are too drunk for me to play with right now.’ He pouted a little at that, kissing me in the process because we were that close.
I licked my lips and he followed that too.
‘Too bad you aren’t getting it no more though.’ I bopped his nose. Turned on my heel and stalked towards the door as best as I could. I slammed into a few chairs on my way out, which wasn’t the plan. I was calling a taxi as soon as I was on the street. Of course he would be faster than my drunk ass could ever be, so he was walking beside me in silence. ‘You about done with your temper tantrum?’ he asked after a few long seconds, as I was fumbling for my Telvice in my bag.
‘You are still here?’ I hiccupped.
‘Carina, I’m not leaving you like this.’ He sighed. Exasperatingly stroking through his short buzzcut.
‘Why?’ I angrily groaned. I still couldn’t replace it. I dropped down on the street and started to rummage through my purse.
He crouched down beside me. ‘I got your Telvice. You left it on the bar.’ He tipped my chin up to him. ‘Get that fine ass off the street, now.’ He dragged me upwards. One of his black town helicars was already waiting. He let me to the car and I fake struggled. At this point I couldn’t really think, let alone call a taxi. He was taking me home, that’s all.
‘Where are your keys?’ he asked. He reached for my purse and started searching.
‘They should be there somewhere.’ I yawned. I couldn’t really look outside because it was making me nauseous so I stared at him. There were two of him at the moment.
‘They aren’t.’
I unclipped my seat belt and reached forward to search with him. I turned the light on above us. It really wasn’t there. ‘Well, sky is there so she can open the door for me.’
‘Sky is comatose.’
‘Well, than I have to sleep outside the door tonight.’
‘Like fuck you are.’ I knew where he was heading.
‘I’m not going back to your place.’
‘You have no choice.’
‘I’ll call Oak.’
‘It’s three in the morning. He might have an aneurysm.’ He had a point.
‘Than I go to a hotel.’
’I live in a hotel.
‘Fine.’ I sighed. ‘Fine. Whatever. Take me to your place.’
