Chapter 15

Nadia’s face and cars instantly turned red as she thought about it.

She panicked and asked. What did you see just now?

James sat up, staring thoughtfully at Nadia. He calmly replied, I guess I don’t need to tell you the answer, do I?

He could do whatever he wanted, but she had to behave obediently every day. It was a clear case of double standards.

After saying that, James got up and went to the bathroom.

Nadia, knowing better than to press him further, stopped asking. Even if she did get an answer, it would only make the situation more awkward.

Nadia walked to the bathroom door and leaned against it. I’m going to make some lamb kebab later. I’ll eat with Mrs. Howe. Do you want some?

She knew that Daisy liked to eat lamb kebab. She had made it for Daisy before when Daisy went to her flower shop.

James usually either had milk and bread prepared by the servants or ate breakfast at the Kingsley Hotel, an establishment owned by his company. He rarely ate lamb kebab in the morning.

He stood there in his plaid pajamas, holding a razor as he shaved his beard and said, Don’t worry about me. You guys go

ahead and eat.”

Nadia got the answer she wanted and turned to leave the room. The first thing she did was go to the guest room and see if Daisy was awake.

The door wasn’t locked, so Nadia pushed it open and stuck her head in. She saw that Daisy was already up, neatly folding the blankets and preparing to leave the room.

Good morning, Mrs. Howe.”

Nadia’s

s lips curled up, revealing a bright smile.

Morning, sweetheart.

The Howe family had all grandsons, so suddenly having such a beautiful and cute granddaughterinlaw like Nadia in the family instantly improved Daisy’s mood.

Mrs. Howe, you’re up. I’ll make your favorite lamb kebab. And I’ll make two hot dogs and fried eggs for you.”

Daisy was the person Nadia was most familiar with in this family. She sensed that Daisy genuinely liked her.

Daisy looked at Nadia with a warm smile and thought that her granddaughterinlaw was such a nice person.

Nadia went to the kitchen, tied on an apron with a frilly edge, took out three eggs from the refrigerator, skillfully heated the pan, added oil, and fried the eggs.

In no time, two steaming plates of lamb kebab were placed on the table. Nadia also brought a plate with two hot dogs and fried eggs and placed it in front of Daisy. She even drew two smiley faces on top of the fried eggs with ketchup.

Mrs. Howe, here. Please enjoy.”

Daisy looked at the hot dogs, adorable fried eggs, and the fragrant lamb kebab and instantly felt a burst of happiness.

Daisy looked at the lamb kebab on Nadia’s plate and said with a smile, Nadia, don’t bother yourself. Sit down and eat quickly.

Alright, Mrs. Howe, you go ahead and eat, Nadia replied, turning back to the kitchen. She grabbed a bottle of barbecue sauce and washed a few pieces of lettuce, placing them on the lamb kebab.

Although the lamb kebab was already quite tasty, she still liked to add some hot sauce and eat it with lettuce. This was Nadia’s special way to enjoy lamb kebab.

Just then, James, dressed in a silvergray suit, walked out of the room, his hair impeccably combed. As soon as he stepped out, he caught a whiff of the tantalizing aroma of the lamb kebab filling the living room. It made him instantly feel exceptionally hungry that morning.

When he saw the two hot dogs and fried eggs with smiley faces drawn on top, he couldn’t help but salivate. He had never imagined that lamb kebab and fried eggs could be so enticing to him.

But James had just declared that he didn’t want any. If he now said he wanted to eat, wouldn’t that be embarrassing?

Daisy looked at her grandson’s watering mouth and knew he had to be hungry. She looked up at Nadia and asked in a consultative tone, Nadia, why don’t you cook some lamb kebab for James too?

Nadia forcefully picked up a piece of lamb kebab. Only then did she raise her head and look at James, saying, Mrs. Howe, T already asked him earlier, and he said he didn’t want to eat the food I cooked.”

Daisy frowned. Did I see it wrong?she wondered. She picked up one of the fried eggs from her plate and put it in her mouth, savoring the aroina of the fried egg filling her mouth.

With an expression of enjoyment, Daisy said, Looks like he’s missing out. Nadia’s lamb kebab is truly delicious. She took a bite of the egg and then picked up another piece of lamb kebab to devour.

James couldn’t stand it anymore and quickly put on his shoes, walking out of the door. His bodyguards had been waiting at the entrance for quite some time.

A group

of bodyguards watched as James, their boss, walked out of the elevator. They noticed that his wife did not accompany him. They quickly instructed the driver to bring the RollsRoyce to the entrance.

There would be another tough battle this day, and James didn’t have time for breakfast.

James had one of his bodyguards buy him breakfast from the Kingsley Hotel. After getting into the car, he took a bite of the specialty snack the bodyguard had bought for him and instantly found that it tasted bad.

How come he hadn’t realized that this snack was so tasteless before?

James looked at the breakfast in his hand and directly threw it to the side for the nearby bodyguard to take. The two bodyguards sitting next to him exchanged glances.

What is wrong with Mr. Howe?the two bodyguards thought at the same time. Isn’t this his favorite snack?

James kept a cold face and said in a chilly tone, I’m not eating anymore. Let’s go to the office.

The youngest bodyguard, Xavier Cartwright, felt a bit uncomfortable. He had gone to the Kingsley Hotel at 5 a.m. to buy it for James. It took Xavier a whole hour. However, James only took one bite and didn’t want it anymore.

Although Xavier was unhappy, he didn’t dare say anything. After all, he was just a bodyguard.

At 8 a.m., five identical RollsRoyce cars pulled out of the underground parking garage in Orchid Valley,

The security guards at the entrance couldn’t believe their eyes. Although it was a new community, most of the residents were middle class. Being able to drive a RollsRoyce meant that the owner of the car was super rich, let alone a fleet of RollsRoyce cars. This was something they had never seen before.

Could it be that a wealthy tycoon or a rich secondgeneration lived in this community?

Nadia finished her breakfast and cleaned up the table. She then tidied up the house and prepared to go to the flower shop. She felt a bit guilty for leaving Clare alone to manage the shop the previous day.

Nadia looked at Daisy, who was alone at home, and Nadia couldn’t help but worry.

Mrs. Howe, I’m going to the flower shop. What about you?

Daisy smiled. Her granddaughterinlaw was so skilled at cooking. Daisy wanted to join Nadia at the flower shop to enjoy some free food and drinks.

In the past, Daisy would only occasionally go there, and she always felt embarrassed. Now that Nadia was her granddaughterinlaw, Daisy could go along without any hesitation.

Daisy replied with a smile, I’ll go with you. If you’re busy, I can help you look after the flower shop.

That’s great.

It was good that Daisy was going with Nadia. After all, Nadia could take care of Daisy at the flower shop.

Nadia grabbed her bag and linked her arm with Daisy’s as they walked downstairs. The two of them walked out of the community, chatting and laughing, heading toward the direction of the bus stop.

When they were close to the bus stop, Nadia suddenly saw several black RollsRoyce cars, which was quite impressive.

Due to the traffic lights ahead and some congestion, the cars were moving slowly like ants. They were slower than walking.

Nadia muttered to herself, So what if they have luxury cars? When it comes to traffic jams, our legs are faster than them. Don’t you think so, Mrs. Howe?

Daisy listened to Nadia’s words and casually glanced at the cars on the road. She didn’t realize them at first. After a closer look, she was startled. She recognized her grandson’s car.

Daisy became anxious, afraid that Nadia would notice James sitting in the car. Daisy couldn’t let James blow his cover.

Nadia walked while looking around. Those who could afford such luxurious cars, or rather, a fleet of luxurious cars, were either bald old men or overweight bosses in their 50s or 60s. She tilted her head and took a couple of steps forward. Coincidentally, the car windows were open, so she could see the people inside clearly. When she saw who was inside, she gasped in shock.

The person in the car looked so much like James, her easily obtained husband.
