Flash Marriage: Slow Down Mister -
Chapter 576 That's How It Is
"I see." Shane understood. He felt it was a wise choice to pick Clara to be his mentor.
Clara was good at mentoring newcomers. People mentored by her all turned out to be outstanding employees. Except, of course, for those who had been kicked out of the company by Clara due to not working hard enough.
"Ms. Hutchinson, I learned a lot with you today. May I invite you for lunch?" After work, Shane asked Clara happily. Clara looked very beautiful under the sun.
However, rumor had it that that Clara already had a husband and a child.
But that didn't stop Shane from liking Clara.
"Okay, sure." Clara nodded. It was already twelve o'clock.
She wanted to have lunch with Horace, but since Shane proposed it, she agreed.
They chose a cheap restaurant because Clara knew Shane didn't have much money. He was just fresh off college and was only from an average family. But if Clara insisted on paying the bill, it would make Shane embarrassed.
With all this in mind, Clara ordered some cheap dishes.
They had a simple lunch.
"Ms. Hutchinson, shall we go back to the company now?" Shane looked forward to working with Clara so that he could be with Clara alone.
"Okay." Looking at the time, it was indeed time to work.
Back at the company, Clara asked Shane to write a report. Shane agreed.
Then, Clara began to write her own report.
Each time when she finished an assignment, Clara would write a report about it. She would also ask the newcomers to write one.
In this way, she can see how the newcomers understand the task and what they learned during the process.
In the afternoon, Clara read Shane's report. There was no problem. So, Clara said goodbye to Leilah and Shane, and she then went home.
By the time she got home, Horace had returned. He was sitting on the couch, looking at Clara with a ferocious look.
Clara changed her shoes very nervously. Did she do anything wrong? Why did Horace look at her that way?
"What's wrong?" Clara walked over and looked at Horace in puzzlement.
Horace did not answer Clara's question. Instead, he got up and approached Clara step by step.
The look in Horace's eyes was kind of scary. Clara felt somewhat flustered, not knowing what was wrong with Horace.
While Horace approached, Clara retreated. Soon, she reached the sofa. There was no room for her to dodge.
Just when Clara thought Horace would stop there, Horace pinned Clara down on the sofa.
He got on top of her.
"What?" Horace didn't speak. He looked very handsome. But she was still a little flustered.
"Shane Doyle, huh?" Horace finally spoke. Hearing the name, Clara knew right away what Horace as thinking. He was jealous.
If Clara had known it earlier, she wouldn't have been at a disadvantage just now.
Beneath Horace, Clara felt like she had made a mistake.
"He is just a newcomer that I mentor."
Clara explained. She wasn't guilty. They were just working.
"I'm cultivating talent for you, but you're questioning me." Thinking of this, Clara became more confident.
She was right. She was helping Horace. She didn't do anything wrong.
"Shall I fire him? Huh?"
Clara knew that when Horace was angry, he would add extra modal particles at the end of his speech.
It showed his anger, but only in front of Clara. Others wouldn't even get the chance to make a response when Horace was angry. "No, that boy is promising." He was even better than Leilah.
If he was fired, it would be Horace's loss. Clara was trying to convince Horace that there was nothing between Shane and her.
"I heard you had lunch together?"
Horace couldn't see anything about the fact that they worked together. But having lunch together was kind of too much, right? Why did they even do that?
"Well, it was just an accident." Looking at Horace, who was now jealous, Clara didn't know what to do.
Horace had never been jealous, not even when Andre Hansen was around. But today Horace was really jealous. Clara could do nothing but keep explaining.
Halfway through Clara's speech, Horace suddenly stood up and wrapped his arms around Clara's waist.
"Well, I believe you." Although Horace's expression was still not good, it was better than just now.
"Alright. I'm not leaving you for anyone." Clara assured Horace.
Clara knew how good Horace was to her. She wouldn't abandon him for a young boy.
"Nice." Horace kissed Clara lightly and asked her to eat.
Then, He went up to call Neo.
Neo had just finished class when they started to prepare dinner. So, when Horace went up to call him, Neo had basically finished his homework.
Although Leilah was with Logan now, she still insisted on tutoring Neo, saying that it was what she should do.
Logan didn't say anything, and Clara let Leilah go on.
"Daddy, mommy, you came home early today," Neo said.
Clara glanced at Horace a little embarrassed. Horace must have returned early to question her.
She returned early because she finished the report early.
So, the two of them both came back early today.
"Well, I finished my work so I came back." Horace nodded as he served food to Neo.
They had dinner.
On his way home, Shane came across someone.
"Sir, save..." Staggering towards Shane, Laura suddenly fell straight onto the ground.
Laura's face was dirty, and her clothes were a ragged, exposing part of her breast. Shane, a boy who had just entered society, looked at Laura in front of him, stunned.
