Chapter 346 A Sad Rainy Day

Officer Carter did not delay and was ready to take Mandy up the mountain. Charlotte hesitated for a moment and decided to go with them.

Joe frowned and looked at her. "The rain hasn't stopped yet. It's hard to walk up the mountain."

Charlotte also knew, but as a construction designer, she had studied terrain exploration and other things. Now they went up the mountain together to replace more evidence. "You should know that as a manager, you don't have to participate in everything." Joe's brows didn't relax in the slightest. Instead, they furrowed tighter and tighter.

Although Mandy did not like Joe, she had to admit that what he said this time was reasonable.

Therefore, under the strong persuasion of several people, Charlotte had to give up this idea.

She and Joe remained where they were, while Jack and Mandy accompanied the policemen up the mountain.

Only the two of them were left.

Sitting in the car, Charlotte looked at the heavy rain outside and suddenly remembered the day when she found out that she had been set up by the White Family.

The rain that day seemed to be as heavy as it was today. When she woke up from the hotel bed, she found that she had slept with Joe. He even thought that she had deliberately set him up and looked down on her.

Being despised or even hated by her secret admirer and plotted against by her family, Charlotte was completely disheartened.

From that day on, she did not like rainy days from the bottom of heart.

"Charlotte, what are you thinking about?"

Being interrupted, Charlotte suddenly came to her senses and turned her head, only to meet Joe's eyes.

"Nothing." Charlotte didn't want to talk to Joe about her complicated feelings, so she just shook her head lightly.

Even if the two of them were sitting together now, Joe could not feel any of Charlotte's emotions. He felt as if there was a wall between them, preventing him from touching the person in front of him. However, this wall was built by himself.

He subconsciously rubbed his fingers and thought about what he wanted to do.

There was no point in apologizing. Confession would only make Charlotte more rebellious.

He thought about it for a long time, but for the first time, he felt that he could not replace a suitable topic to talk about.

Knock knock knock...

At this moment, someone knocked on the window. Charlotte secretly breathed a sigh of relief and looked out of the car.

It was Mr. Dulles, followed by a man with a bloody nose and a swollen face.

Charlotte frowned. Just as she was about to get out of the car, she was stopped by Joe. "Wait."

He took out the umbrella from the passenger seat, got out of the car first, and said a few words to Mr. Dulles. Then he opened the door and motioned for Charlotte to get out.

Mr. Dulles glanced at the two of them and suddenly kicked the man's butt. The man staggered and knelt down directly.

Charlotte raised her eyebrows. "What's going on?"

Mr. Dulles scolded, "It's all because of this idiot. Maybe he was the one who caused the landslide!"

The man kneeling on the ground shivered. It was Jackson who had contacted Cowper's men before.

It turned out that when Jackson heard that the landslide of the mountain happened to be the place he had pointed out to Cowper's people before, he panicked.

He thought that those people were just secretly getting some trees, but he didn't expect such a big event to happen!

In a panic, he immediately thought of Mr. Dulles and asked him to help him think of a solution.

Unexpectedly, Mr. Dulles beat him up without saying a word and then immediately dragged him to apologize.

Joe and Charlotte looked at each other. What a coincidence.
