"The anniversary of Juanton University?

Scarlett had just fastened her seat belt when she heard Raymond's words. She involuntarily lifted her eyebrows. "Uh-huh. Is there a problem?"

Raymond shook his head. "I seem to have been invited as well."

Scarlett swiveled her head aside to look sidelong at him. "What do you mean by ' seem to ?"

"I've received too many invitations."

Scarlett snorted, "So you are really somebody, Mr. Shaw."

Raymond reached out his hand and held hers. "When will you send an invitation to me who is somebody, Ms. Reed?"

Scarlett was amused by his mock seriousness. "I'm on my way to dine with you, aren't I?"

Raymond looked at her. The expression in his dark eyes flickered. "I'm expecting you to invite me to visit the Register Office with you. Of course, I can invite you if you want." "Are you suggesting I don't have enough money for that?"

The service charge was only twelve bucks. Anybody could afford it.

Scarlett was only playing along. It was after saying those words that she realized she had responded too quick and fallen prey to Raymond's trick.

"So, are we going to the Register Office tomorrow?"

Scarlett looked at Raymond with a half smile. "Mr. Shaw, you still got a lot of issues on your schedule, right?"

"You can make my schedule full or empty with a single word, can't you, Ms. Reed?"

Scarlett didn't know when, but Raymond seemed to have learned a few moves from her. Having been outspoken by him, Scarlett gave him a dirty look. "Stop dreaming!"

With that she chuckled, "Can we go to the restaurant now? I'm hungry."

Raymond knew that she was changing the subject, but he also knew that it was

unwise to rush into it. He nodded. "Hold on tight."

Raymond always drove at a steady moderate speed, which was why there had been several occasions when Scarlett nearly fell asleep in his car.

Both of them were regulars at Clear Waters. Although Scarlett had not held any staff members of this restaurant responsible for the matter of Yvonne the other day, Raymond had expressed his displeasure with it to Alexander.

The two of them had just walked through the front door when a waiter came to welcome them. As for the waiter they had seen the other day, Scarlett didn't see him throughout her stay in the restaurant. There was no telling whether he had been transferred elsewhere or fired.

Scarlett and Raymond had not even reached the car yet when they spotted Alexander.

Alexander was standing next to their car. Clearly, he had been waiting for them.

Scarlett lifted her eyebrows. "Mr. Smith."

"Scarlett, Ray."

Alexander looked at Raymond and smiled," It's not every day I get to chance upon you guys. There's going to be an exhibition match on Hone Hill tonight. Why don't you take Scarlett there and go along for the ride?"

Alexander had learned only yesterday that Raymond, who had been friends with him since their childhood, still hadn't won Scarlett's heart.

As a man who was willing to sacrifice anything for his friends, Alexander felt obliged to give Raymond a hand.

As chance would have it, he had come across them at mealtime, so he had found Raymond's car and been waiting here for them.

Raymond hadn't gotten involved in any car racing activities since the age of 22.

Therefore, the Raymond that Scarlett had known after coming to Juanton City was somewhat different from the man he had been when young and reckless.

After hearing Alexander's question, she became curious in spite of herself." Where's Hone Hill?"

Having perceived that Scarlett was interested, Alexander shifted his attention to her. "If you're curious, have Ray take you there! You might not know this, but Ray used to be the Lord of Hone Hill." Raymond flicked Alexander a frigid and somewhat disapproving glance. "Why are you so talky?"

Alexander thought, 'What a silly ingrate 'Well, I'm a bigger man. I should forgive him!'

Scarlett lifted her eyebrows, turned to look at Raymond and smiled, "Can I go there?"

Raymond swiveled his head aside to face her. His eyes became tender again. "Sure."

With that he pulled the car door open. "Get in. I'll take you there." Alexander had been disregarded completely. "... I didn't drive my car here. Can I-"

"You can't."
