"Then just leave."

The tension in the air was thick, like a storm was about to break.

Flora cleared her throat and said, "Connor, I haven't eaten yet. I'm starving."

Connor's voice softened, "Let me check the fridge. How about I whip up something for you?"

Flora smiled and nodded, "That sounds wonderful."

"Ray, come with me."

Connor grabbed Ray and headed downstairs.

Ray followed reluctantly, and as they reached the door, he couldn't help but turn his head, "Aisha, keep playing your games."

Feeling a bit better after that jab, he followed Connor to the kitchen.

Leaning against the doorframe, he watched Connor expertly tie an apron and start pulling out ingredients. Frowning, Ray said, "Don't spoil Flora too much, or she'll walk all over you."

Connor shot him a sideways glance, "Just because you're unhappy doesn't mean you should mess with my relationship with Flora."

"Honestly, you'd be better off dead."

"Quit it, and help me peel this garlic." Connor handed him a whole bulb.

"I don't know how," Ray said, his face blank.

Connor: "..."

...

Upstairs, in the room.

Flora and Aisha were having a light chat.

Neither of them was particularly talkative, but their conversation flowed easily without any awkward pauses.

Aisha's phone buzzed, and she frowned slightly as she read the message.

She picked up her laptop from the nightstand and turned it on.

Without hiding it from Flora, Flora peeked over.

On the screen was a robot simulation program.

Noticing some errors, Aisha began searching through the code line by line for bugs.

Flora watched as Aisha made corrections, raising an eyebrow, "Did you make this?"

Aisha nodded, "Gale Corporation is getting into robotics, and you know my situation. Ever since I came back, my aunt and uncle have been undermining me. This program is my chance to turn things around. If I can impress the shareholders, I might have a shot at staying in the company and standing up to my aunt and uncle."

"Gale Corporation was founded by my parents, mostly for charitable work. But after my aunt and uncle took over, they've been ruthless in their pursuit of profit, completely betraying my parents' original vision. I can't just sit by and do nothing."

Aisha took a deep breath, "The shareholders' meeting is tomorrow, and this program is supposed to be presented in front of everyone. But there are still parts I'm not satisfied with, and I can't seem to figure out how to improve them. Could you take a look for me?"

After saying this, Aisha remembered Flora's background was in medicine, not computer science.

"Never mind, I'll figure it out myself. If you get bored, you can play some games on the tablet."

Flora crossed her arms as she watched the robot simulation program Aisha was working on, shaking her head.

How to put it...

It's pretty average.

Connor had mentioned that Aisha didn't have much knowledge about robots and programming.

After her parents' accident, she was sent to live with the Brimer family and never had formal education in this field.

Considering she managed to create a passable program in just a few months was commendable.

But hoping to use this to make a stand at the shareholders' meeting seemed like a long shot. "I'm going to the bathroom."

Aisha got off the bed and headed to the bathroom.

Flora glanced at the closed bathroom door and then back at the computer program, sighing.
