Brianna felt her heart pounding in her chest, ready to leap out at any moment. She moved toward Flora almost like a robot, her legs barely holding her up. "What... what's going on?" she stammered, her voice trembling.

Now she understood why Ray and Selene had warned her not to mess with Flora. An angry Flora was absolutely terrifying. Brianna couldn't shake the fear that Flora could snap her neck with just a flick of her wrist.

"Remember how they treated you? Now you give it back to them," Flora said, picking up a metal bat and tapping it rhythmically against the ground, her voice steady and almost lazy.

As soon as Flora spoke, Brianna realized what she meant. Was Flora really standing up for her?

Brianna, who had grown up pampered and cherished, still remembered the sting of Vivian's slaps. She raised her hand and delivered two hard slaps right back to Vivian's face. This was her payback!

The slow, rhythmic tapping of Flora's bat on the ground echoed like a relentless hammer in Vivian's heart, making it hard for her to breathe, let alone fight back.

"I'm telling you, I'm Miss Lancaster. Touch me, and my family won't let you get away with it!" Vivian spat out, her voice filled with venom.

Hearing this, Brianna's fury intensified. She stomped on Vivian's foot with all her might. She didn't want to flaunt the Brimer family name, but if it came down to it, practically no one in Maple Grove could rival her family's status.

Even Ivan and the others found it difficult to watch. They were, after all, hitting a girl. But they knew that without Flora's intervention, their fate-and Brianna's would have been much worse than Vivian's. Suddenly, police sirens blared in the distance!

Ivan's face fell. Oh no...

He had felt they were in real danger earlier, so he had called the police. For Vivian, the sirens were like a heavenly choir. Her pale face twisted into a vindictive smile. The police had arrived. Flora, you're done for!

.....

At the police station.

"Miss Leigh, please have some water," an officer said, helping Vivian sit down and kindly offering her a cup of hot tea.

Vivian's cheeks were still burning, and her stomach ached. She couldn't drink anything. Her eyes, filled with malice, fixed on Flora and Brianna standing against the wall.

"Mr. Flynn, you know what to do, right?" she said with a commanding tone.

"Yes, yes, of course," Mr. Flynn nodded, almost bowing. Vivian's uncle had a good relationship with the police chief, which explained Mr. Flynn's deference.

Brianna couldn't hold back. "Officer, we were all brought in together. Why do we have to stand here while she gets to sit and drink tea?"

"You think you can justify beating someone up?" Mr. Flynn snapped. "Look at what you've done to her! I could lock you up right now!" "Well, go ahead! Lock me up!" Brianna fumed, kicking the stool in front of her. "Playing favorites, huh? Get your chief out here." She had a temper, too!

Was it time to use family names to throw weight around? Fine, who didn't have a powerful family behind them? Brianna's entitled air was unmistakable, a real lady raised in luxury. Her demand for the chief made Mr. Flynn uneasy. Could she also be from a big family?

"What's your name?" Mr. Flynn asked, suddenly feeling anxious.

"My last name is Brimer. Officer, you're so good at currying favor, surely you've heard of the Brimer family?"

Maple Grove had only one Brimer family...

Mr. Flynn's heart skipped a beat. Could it be... such a coincidence...

"You..."

Just as Mr. Flynn was about to speak, an anxious woman's voice called out from the door: "Vivian!"
