Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life -
Chapter 529
Just then, Shawn's phone buzzed in his pocket. Sneaking a quick peek, he saw it was a video from Flora.
It was surveillance footage from outside the restroom. Of course! Why hadn't they thought of checking the surveillance cameras sooner? But how had Flora managed to get her hands on it?
There was no time to ponder that now. Shawn hurried over to Dr. Ray and handed him the phone. "Dr. Ray, Flora sent this-it's the surveillance footage from outside the restroom." Hearing this, Jules leaned in to watch too. The video clearly showed Alexa deliberately closing the restroom door and putting up an "Under Construction" sign. Just as she was about to leave, she turned back, seemingly to make sure the door was locked. But then, the door suddenly opened from the inside, and she was violently pulled in. The door shut again, and the video ended.
It was clear as day. Alexa had brought this on herself. She had intentionally locked Flora in the restroom, obviously up to no good. The injuries on her body might have been caused by Flora, but honestly, she deserved it.
After watching the video, Dr. Ray was trembling with anger. At the same time, he felt a pang of guilt towards Flora. He had really misjudged her...
Alexa, on the other hand, was pale as a ghost. The surveillance... Wasn't it supposed to be destroyed?
"The truth is out, isn't it time you apologized to Flora?" Jules raised an eyebrow, feeling immensely relieved. His Flora was something else, presenting irrefutable evidence right off the bat!
"Since I misunderstood her, I'll apologize. But Flora's skills aren't enough to stay in the lab." Dr. Ray knew he had wronged Flora and was ready to apologize, but he still believed she wasn't qualified to stay in the lab. Since Jules was here today, it was best to be direct with him.
"What were you thinking, recommending a freshman who's been in school for less than two months? What could she have possibly learned? Without any foundation, what good is she in the lab? Should I hold her hand like a child?"
Jules retorted, "Are you blind?"
He had brought such a gem to the lab, and Dr. Ray not only failed to appreciate her but also belittled Flora.
Dr. Ray frowned deeply. "If you insist on Flora staying, it's not impossible. The mid-term exams for the medical department are in ten days. If she scores above ninety-five in every subject, I will personally invite her back to the lab."
If Flora could score that high, it would prove her professional foundation was solid. For Jules's sake, he could reconsider.
Jules looked at him like he was nuts. "If she doesn't score that high, it just means she's not qualified to enter the lab, and it also means the real blind one here is you."
Dr. Ray shot Jules a disdainful glance. "You think Flora really cares about this lab? Just wait-when you go to invite her, she probably won't even bother."
Jules was fuming. How could Dr. Ray be so confident saying something like that? Did he even know who Flora was? A lab that countless medical students dream of joining, and Flora wouldn't even bat an eye! "Just wait for a slap in the face!" Jules stormed out, too angry to stay. As he passed by Alexa, he shot her a look. "Young lady, it's fine to be a bit shrewd, but don't darken your heart. Be careful, you might end up burning yourself."
Alexa hated when people called her dark-hearted. Jules's words felt like a dagger. But she had no time to dwell on it; Dr. Ray's icy voice cut through the air, "Now, let's settle your score!"
His words were practically squeezed out through gritted teeth.
